About TempMonitor

TempMonitor is the oldest CPU Temperature monitoring app on the android market. This app is built to do one thing: Temperature, and it does it well.

Temperature in your status bar!
** Choose from Celsius or Fahrenheit.
** Choose what temperature to display (Battery, CPU).
** Choose the update interval.
** Choose the color.
** Chose to change the color based on temperature (Ranges).

Temperature Gage Widgets.
** Hot gage widgets that actually work!
** Choose what temp to display.
** Choose from (4) styles.
** Choose the format.
** Choose the update interval.

Temperature in App Screen.
** Don't want temp in your status bar? You can always view it in real-time in the app screen. Piece of cake.

Optimized for Performance.
** Great care has been taken to make TempMonitor a powerhouse of options while not bogarting your device's CPU cycles or battery life. The current version, in fact, uses so little resources that I keep it updating at 1 second on my Galaxy Nexus at all times.

CPU Temperature.
** Oh, did I mention that TempMonitor reads real CPU temperature? Unfortunately, this option is not available for all devices. Get this though: if your device can't give TempMonitor CPU readings, TempMonitor will tell you that. TempMonitor will NEVER give you a battery temp reading and call it CPU.
** Supported Devices (That I know of): Droid 1 (kernel mods), Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr, Droid Razr Maxx, Droid 4.
** Supported but still in testing: Transformer
** If you are getting CPU temp on your device and it's not listed above, please let me know so I can update the list.

IMPORTANT:
** Exclude from task killer
** Forcing sdcard install causes widgets to disassociate on reboot!
** Issues? Email or I can't help.

Frequently Asked Questions:

** I do not see CPU temp in the app?
By default, TempMonitor does not display cpu temp in the app or notification. To enable this setting, please select either App Screen CPU Temp and/or CPU Temp Notification from the preferences menu.

** Is this real cpu temp, or battery temp?
TempMonitor will never display a battery temperature and call it CPU temperature. This app is coded to read and present as much temperature data as possible from your device. CPU Temp is currently not supported on all devices. If your device does not support CPU Temperature currently, you will be alerted to that effect.

** What is update interval?
The update interval refers to how often TempMonitor checks and updates displayed temperature notifications. This option has no effect on the update interval when viewing the app screen.

** What is "Force System Data"?
This is enabled by default, what it does is force the application to read battery temperature data stored by the Android system in lieu of attaching to the battery sensor directly. Note that many devices do not allow attachment directly to the battery sensor, and that on supported devices, when attached to this sensor, battery usage is extremely heavy. This is a legacy option for those who wish to view real-time battery data for a brief time while testing or debugging battery issues. For most users, Force System Data should be checked.

** I tried the Lite Version and it told me I wasn't supported.
That's why it's called the Lite version... support for later model phones is available in the full version only.

** I tried the Lite Version and could only get notification in Celsius.
That's why it's called the Lite version... support for fahrenheit notifications is available only in the full version.

In one word: AWESOME. Finally! A simple and perfectly effective temp monitor that does exactly what I needed! It's also the only one I've found that allows for a temp in the notification bar. I would only want one thing... I'd love to be able to have BOTH the CPU temp AND the battery temp on the notification bar, instead of one or the other. Like in a format of 00/00, for example. (And just a small aesthetic thing, I wish it could be anchored to the far left on the notification bar, instead of in the middle of other notifications...anchored to the top of the pull-down notifications.) Thank you SO MUCH for this app! :D

Fantastic app! As far as I can tell, it's the only one that places temp in notification bar. Also gives CPU temp for my phone (see below). The only downside is the app will freeze sometimes when the temp spikes (my phone does this quite a bit - 48 deg C plus). Easily corrected by opening main app, which will force close and usually auto restarts in notification bar. HTC One M9; rooted; marshmallow (HTC sense).

Does exactly what it says it does. Monitors your phones temperature and the temperates make sense. Also in Celsius and Fahrenheit. Was really hot out and my phone felt like it was burning. Used this dandy little app and found out the battery was at 116°F! Super cool

E70%
by E####:

This is a useful app, but the widget looks awful. It’d be nice if there were a simple 1x1 widget that only says the temperature. It’d also be nice if you could set an alarm for when the battery reaches a certain temperature.

Y70%
by Y####:

Love this app it does what I've been trying to find. Temp displayed on task bar and I'm able to pick between cpu or batt. I just wish it had an alarm I could set for if my phone starts getting to hot and I'm not watching it. When they add that I gladly make 5 ⭐

Z70%
by Z####:

I would give it 5 stars if it had an option to NOT display lock screen notification and option to show BOTH, battery and CPU temperatures in the bar and not one or the other, which is currently the only option. Otherwise great app.

Y70%
by Y####:

This app is way out dated. It says that I don't have any sensors on my Moto G4 Plus. The UI is okay from what I can tell although I didn't get far.

Y70%
by Y####:

I don't like this at all. I hate the notification shade box. I don't like that there's no degrees symbol, it just shows as a random number. I guess I'll have to stick with Status Bar Mini.

Y70%
by Y####:

Doesn't work for me. Says 'No temp sensor' even though other apps can give me a temperature reading. Device is Xperia Z5 Premium

D70%
by D####:

CPU Sensor not recognised and no preference options please include this brilliant phone.

S70%
by S####:

Just what I wanted. A small number in my notification bar to see current temperature of cpu or battery. Also can change the color to match your theme, and set the time between temp updates to further apart if you want to possibly save a bit more battery. Note: you have to press the android menu button in the app to pull up the options to enable these things.

S70%
by S####:

HI, why can't I find the option menu in this apps. I have already sent you an email reporting this problem 5 days ago, still waiting for your response. Thx

N70%
by N####:

It does display temperature but I have to open the app to see it. Despite saying it displays in the notification bar it doesn't. It also has no menu for me to activate that feature, nor does it supply a widget. 2 stars because it does do temperature, but not in the way it says it does.

S70%
by S####:

Cannot connect to system temperature monitor. No options pop up in the bottom of the screen, nothing is configurable. Useless.

S70%
by S####:

I love the way that the battery temperature is in the Notification bar - in a different colour (currently blue) - which makes it really stand out from the rest of the white stuff in the Notification bar so that I can see my battery temperature very clearly. The widgets are also thoughtfully designed.

L70%
by L####:

Temp shows 10-13° hotter during heavy phone use. But is more accurate when my phone has been sitting idle.

X70%
by X####:

The problem with this app is that it is not clear whether the temperature shown by the main activity (not the notification, which I don't use) is the CPU's or the battery's

S70%
by S####:

But, rarely sometimes automatically disabled(not using any task killer apps).otherwise superb .

T70%
by T####:

Like display of both C and F in app. Notifications and widgets are great features! Although should use 3 digits for C when available (internal battery value 375 is 37.5 C/99.5 F, but app showed 98 F).

S70%
by S####:

Does exactly what it should... exactly what I need. And without asking for insane permissions like the other options do. I mean really, who needs to know my location to report my CPU temp!?

P70%
by P####:

There's no way to change the settings. It's got the basic start page, but no settings menu so I can't see the temp in my status bar, which is what I wanted.

S70%
by S####:

Crashes on device wake. As this app does bit use cellular data, no need for it to be off.

S70%

Besides the fact that it force stops all the time so found an app that is better... Uninstalling

perfect would be with option of no notifications in drop down status information but temperature value in status bar only.

Besides a one minor typo and my desire for a smaller widget, this is the best one of it's kind. Great job

M70%
by M####:

"Support for this feature [CPU Temp] is not enabled on this device.....". Other apps (CPUZ) are able to get the CPU temperature, so it is possible, (unfortunately CPUZ has no facility for showing the temperature in the status bar).

Y70%
by Y####:

To the Galaxy s5 users that can't get to the settings, here's how: open the app, touch and HOLD the "previous app" button for a little over a second. (Not the back button, not the home button, not the power or the volume buttons). The settings menu should pop up. That's it. This works in other apps too.

Other than the huge widget, works fine

I70%

No permissions needed, shows battery or CPU temp in status bar (few apps do this, apparently), choice of refresh rates, even has colors denoting the low and high end of the scale, e.g. green to red. Could use configurable background to help with visibility in Lollipop.

Q70%

Downloaded the paid version after trying the lite version. Absolutely no difference. Cannot access any preferences to have the temperature display on my status bar.

L70%
by L####:

Great app, but crashes constantly.

Q70%
by Q####:

Almost no battery drain running constantly in notifications. Add a degree symbol to the notification temp and it's perfect

Q70%

LG G3 VS985 only shows battery temp, would love to have CPU temp. I had loved and used this app for years on other phones. I will raise the stars back to 5 if it gets updated.
