ArchiDroid for Android
If you're not looking to replace your favorite file manager, just to Zip and Unzip, then this is the archive app for you! It can be called from within your favorite file manager, just by tapping on the archive, or I imagine, long tapping on the files you want to compress. This app is simple and easy to use and the Source and Destination lines are brilliant! :) I said it is "almost perfect", because it could use the ability to create a directory when going to compress/uncompress. How many times have we gone to Zip/Unzip and forgot to create a directory first? :) Anyway, get this app if you're looking for a great little archive utility that won't require you to use it as your file manager too. The Market needed this app and props to the developer! Add that option and give me a donate link and I'm there! :)
You ask us for the password then why do we need you !? You should remove the detail saying it can open encrypted files in apps info !!
The android equivilant of 7zip. Title says it all, i dont use anything else for archives. They always crash or dont extract properly.
It works great but I will say the interface needs an overhaul. Makes the application appear to be sketchy. Just.my two cents, great for what it does though! Guess that's what matters anyways!
Slow. Very slow. I have been extracting a 300mb file for the last 30 minutes. I don't even want to attempt compressing anything... will be uninstalling when its done, I'd cancel the process but considering how cheaply made this app is, I fear it would corrupt my file.... :-(
Does not recognise split rars automatically and there does not seem to be a way to manually give multiple files. Otherwise works fast and well.
After trying a few other archivers, this is the best. Free, no ads and it absolutely works. I hope more archive types are added in the future, like 7z. This is a 5* App as is and a must have. Photon 4G.
Unpacked tgz file, had a hard time finding an app to do this correctly. Good job guys(or gals as the case may be) Uninstalling the old popular app I used to use. New winner!
It works well with most archives 4/5 because it couldn't extract a multivolume RAR that my computer could extract. It's probably my problem though
HTC HD2 American android SD. Processing error on multiple zip and rar files. Prob a great program but didn't work for me.
Unzipped files flawlessly and I chose path to extract my downloaded music to my Google music player. After restarting my phone the music showed up on my play list! Sweet!!!
As title says. Quite unattractive and dated. Fails to successfully extract apks from gz files, very reproducible.
I don't believe that I am so excited
Somewhat slow but it does the job. Most importantly for me, it offers 256-bit AES encryption.
All of the other file managers wee confusing and did not unpack the rar files I needed so someone said to try this one and it exceeded my expectations
I give it 4 stars because it's unable to extract multiple part archives. Otherwise it's a great app :)
Wish it would let me unpack files with encrypted headers. It WILL let me unpack password protected files, though....I am confused.
Fails to unpack certain .rar archives, the unpacking process freezes and sits there indefinitely. Doesn't seem to be related to archive size.
Could use a few improvements... Each time I extract a file I need to select a folder from the sd root, if it had a default directory (like Downloads) then it would improve the ease of use. Status bar is a little basic, but at least there is a "loading swirl" to tell you it is still working (and not frozen). Amazing for a free app.
This app does what I need to do. Try improving the UI. Make it more user friendly. I was confused at first on how to use it. So improve the user interface and I will give it 5 stars. Right now I give 4.9 even if its only 4 star
The android equivilant of 7zip. Title says it all, i dont use anything else for archives. They always crash or dont extract properly.
Now everything I try to unpack fails because of a "processing error". I'll change to a 4 star if this issue is fixed.
This is the only one I choose to use. In the past others just did not do the job.
Freeky Geeky, it's what I like to do, be a 'Seeker Freeker,"I love ops like this. It's probably not, but most likely is a "black hat" hacker's tool.Especially, for "getting to the 'heart'(root) of the anything and everything dealing with computers, tablets and cellphones. Hacky Whackey, thanks you.Archdriod becomes "Destructod "A men!
It's definately the MUST HAVE kind of app. Whenever i have any kind of archive extension, i always use this app. Thank you!
Works fine, just wish you could unzip in current folder, and didn't have to back out to highlight the folder.
All in one archive extractor and creator...this is what I have been searching for....the file association needs to be done..then its really awesome...
It does not automatically recognize the rar files from my mailbox. Except all is f9
It used to work, but now for some reason it won't let me designate the out path. Really frustrating.
Just amazing, easy to use and easy to share compressed files. Great job!
Loved this on my old phone, but will not "see" files on my sd card in Galaxy note 2. Only sees empty folders. Never sees any files inside any folders.
Works fine once you spend a few minutes figuring out how it works.
have only tried zip so far but works like its supposed to
It's amazing, and works in the background. One problem, though, is that the app thinks that .apk files are archives and tries to unzip them.
Great app. Can open or create password protected zips. And it's free and probably the smallest app of it's type.
Not workin for me, just won't extract 7z files, shows processing error. - Galaxy S2
I have tried other archiver aps, and this one is by far the easiest to use. Even lets you create your own directory for easy searching. Thanks!
Hung trying to unarchive a large rar with 22 mp3 files. If the phone goes to a blank screen the program hangs, and does not recover. Likely it is just calling a linux utility and not written to deal with the mobile phone os specifics. It is better than running a terminal and doing it command line, but not a mobile app
Please fix progress bar error during large file extraction (2GB+). Would also pay for pro version.

Like its simplicity and how it has a source and target directory (do those who develop other apps use them for many operations?). Would like: 1. An option to create a new, named directory. 2. Open the correct archive when opened by a file manager. 3. To remember the source and target directories when opened after being shut down. Thanks, keep up the good work!
