Speedshifter

After months of working with this app to practice for Music Development Program repertoire, I became weary of having to tap many times to set the initial BPM, only to have the program choose 92 BPM every time for every song. Playback at slower speeds was distorted. Starting a song over, trying to go on to another song before it completed the file at its own pace, balky controls - is this really ready for the Android tablet format? I sent an email to the publisher, never heard back. I will be uninstalling this app and downloading Amazing Slow Downer (the paid version). Too frustrating.

I basically never rate apps, but this one calls for it. I LOVE this app! As an amateur guitarist and violinist, it is so helpful. I can take pieces that I'm working on and slow them down to a playable speed for me. Then, as I improve, I can start speeding it up. Especially for the old-time fiddle tunes I'm in to, which are always in hyper speed, SO helpful. Also great for transcribing music by ear. Very little audio distortion! Love it!

This app is amazing. One of the most useful apps I've ever bought. I've found it so much easier to learn pieces thanks to this As a teacher, I wouldn't recommend this to my students because I'd be scared they'd get to relient upon this rather than a metronome but I shall be using this apps during lessons

Easy to use

I basically never rate apps, but this one calls for it. I LOVE this app! As an amateur guitarist and violinist, it is so helpful. Also great for transcribing music by ear for which perhaps there is no sheet music, or if I want to design a custom piece to go with the song. Perfect!!!

A good tool for practice. Would be easier to use if there was an elapsed time displayed. The beginning and end stops a little fiddly.

Just confirming the previous reviews regarding repeated crashing. Not fit for purpose. Buying the full version does not resolve. Unfortunately the problem is intermittent and you may only discover after the refund period expires.

Waste of money, it doesn't work!

It took a few days but all I had to do was clear the cache and data. End of problem.

So helpful. Like having a musical partner at every practice :-)

Rarely works, just gives a message saying "unfortunately speedshifter has stopped". When it does work it doesn't always show the bpm of the track.

Needs additional support for other music files

I need something like this as a professional aid to teaching (singing) as a player to fill in for a missing piano accompaniment. It's not bad but missing a couple of features for me: 1. Please let us transpose more than just three semitones up or down! Most songs at low pitch are a 4th down for instance. This is surely just an oversight and could be easily remedied. 2. Network play to a better audio system than my phone (eg a dlna renderer). Singing or playing is going to swamp the sound of my phone.

I use this app extensively in my lessons especially in the higher grades. It is very useful. There is some loss in audio quality especially when tracks are really slowed down but the usefulness outweighs the lag in tone. I would be lost without this app.

All music keeps skipping/jumping/flickering in the app rendering it useless - waste of money.

What a useful little app!

I use this app extensively in my lessons especially in the higher grades. It is very useful. There is some loss in audio quality especially when tracks are really slowed down but the usefulness outweighs the lag in tone. I would be lost without this app.
