SSTV Encoder for Android
Wow! Amazing app works as advertised . Enjoyed first sstv qso on 14.230 last night both this and robot 36 five stars all you need is android and hf transciever. I used my 7300 and held speaker to mic! Worked great!!!!
Well I cant find the feature to let me add text, but my current tests are doing well. I cant wait to start getting my friends into it.
It only works sometimes. It almost always has an error trying to load the picture, and only works with certain ones. I can't find a pattern as to what works and what doesn't.
I used it with an Alba android system connected to my Ft60 Yaesu handheld by just a piece of Alba stereo to stereo 3.5mm Jack cable - no interface require to transmit sstv with this programme by activating mic-audio by half drawing out ft60 side of the cable. Also can use Robot 36 with plugs fully pushed in to both sides to receive. Hope more apps like this in the future. Have recently tried (July 2017) with Yaesu VX3 & VX6 with narrow "tortoise" line from Tesco & other stores - only 7 second delay at end of transmission and radio carrier goes off and one is ready to receive (on Robot36) - really simple. Very nearly as good as Kenwoods VCH1E that came out a few years ago! An auto picture take and transmit as a beacon sstv would be an interesting addition say every 3 minuites? However it has far more ready to use formats than the Kenwood VCH1E and its derivatives ever had! No doubt future updates will add more facilities when they come.
This is a wonderful app that makes you feel like an elite cold war spy.
The manual is sparse, but after learning to use it the app. is great. I am just learning to use it. Use Robot36 as a companion app..
Great for portable ops.
Works perfect
Works great.
It's good, but there needs to be a way to stop the sound if you hit play again. If you could save images as wavs or mp3s that would be good too.
How do you load pictures to send? No option for that. No documentation.
I already looked in the description but I could not find the button. .... Plz help me
There should really be a way to export sounds as .mp3 or .wav files
I love ed it
App. Looks good, but as others have said, no buttons on screen for Samsung S5/J5 etc. so can't use it.
Works very well for a free app. I like all the different modes. I've been using it for a week now and it picks up SSTV signals very easily without problems.
Way better than droidsstv, please add donate button! Хорошо работа. One suggestion, an option to superimpose callsign on image footer. Can then go straight from cam to rig.
I only wish it would allow me to load images from within the app, and perhaps store several images that I send often.
I love it
It is a great app, but I found a few problems here and there. You can't pick a pic from the app ,and it would be nice if it would tell you it's done in case you are recording. however, it is still the best free sstv encoder.
Im sure other people could find alot of what they think is wrong, however from what i can tell its a to the point effective app i did however notice once play is clicked there is no stopping it without exiting the app, the play button should have momentary and toggle states selectable by user that'd make it near on complaint free from my perspective... otherwise good job
This encoder is super amazing and useful! If it isn't too difficult to add, could you add a way to save the sound as a WAV file or just an audio file in general? (WAV is a lossless format if I remember correctly) Thank you very much!
I love that someone thinks of hams to come up with apps that are free,i will use this app on field day and during emergency services
I already looked in the description but I could not find the button. .... Plz help me
Very easy to use and fun to mess around with
That worked thanks.
I tested broadcasting this to a friend, and he recieved a clear message. The only thing is, I can't add pictures on the Samsung Galaxy 3.
App. Looks good, but as others have said, no buttons on screen for Samsung S5/J5 etc. so can't use it.
Great little app but unfortunately I can't load pictures on Galaxy S6 edge as no buttons on bottom. Maybe this can be fixed?
Cant load pics... no buttons on the bottom.
And can't receive sstv
Pause/Stop option ?
Thanks a million :-)
great !! will try decor as well ' thanks
Primary software for me now. Both Encoder and Robot36. Quite wonderful and easy to use.
But how about "stop" button and scan-line, showing current position? I think that those two things would be great!

.. And free in the true spirit of amateur Radio
This along with the Rec app by far is the best sstv app for android or any smart phone type available today.

Looks like this app has been greatly refined. It's now easy to load a pic from the gallery. It can save it as a wav file and you can stop it at anytime. It does nearly all of the most popular SSTV modes. Took me a while to figure out how to move text around. For not having any kind of instructions , this is a really good app. The only thing lacking is usb control for the ptt line. Would be way cooler if it could receive as well. Nicely done.
