About Quick Dice Roller

Quick Dice Roller is an app made for the tabletop RPG Geek. It allows to emulate almost all the complex dice rolls required by RPG and board games.

The dice can be added at will and organized in dice bags. Each die is defined by a formula such as 2d6+5 as well as special functions like rak(1d6,4,3) that allow to emulates the most complex game systems. An handy formulas builder simplifies the process, and allow to access to an online help. Check the list of all supported functions here: http://goo.gl/mZkcQS

Thanks to "named values", as well as keep track of games scores, you can define formulas using variable parameters. You can create, for example, the named value "Level" with label "lvl", then use the formula (lvl)d6 to determine the fireball damage. So when your mage level up you don't need to edit the formula: just change the "Level" value!

What you can do with Quick Dice Roller:

★ Roll dice with a touch
★ Organize dice in dice bags
★ Use same formulas you're familiar to (xdy+z)
★ Keep track of scores and use them in formulas
★ Read or listen the roll result in a clear way
★ Check the goodness of the rolls made
★ Apply modifiers on the fly with a touch
★ Sum a roll to the previous automagically or on demand
★ Paste last roll result from the clipboard in another app
★ Keep track of last rolls made

Let me just say that I am very fond of a dice app available for iOS. That particular app is not available for Android however. So I have been downloading/installing a number of different dice rolling apps for Android. Most of them have all been lacking. Some of the paid apps I have emailed the developer asking if they had the functionality I was looking for, and most of those emails have gone unanswered. I was pointed to this app by a friend. And well I am impressed. It's not as pretty as I would like, some 3D graphics and rolling physics would be a nice touch. But as far as what it can do ... it's amazing. This is now my dice app to use on any Android device. Thank you.

Great app, the formula builder and the customization options are the best. It also has a excellent interface, with all the info needed and without clutter or unnecessary gfx.

This looks like it can do all sorts of good things, but just the basic interface is better than the other apps I've tried.

M70%

This app loads quick, has a ton of custom dice formula options, and smooth continuity during multiple/linked rolls. Dependable and consistent; create your own dice bags, too.

M70%

Hey, you can roll 4dF, even! Used to not be so, but the devs added it. This app is THE BIZ; Doc Rotwang! sez "Getchasome!"

Good features, but the rolls repeat too much.

Apologies. Due to an oversight on my part it turns out your averages were not too high and were in fact on spot. That's why I upped the rating by 2 Stars. I liked it didn't love it but I liked it.

For my purposes, I need to see the results of each die when rolling multiples. As a result, my formulas are entered as "d6+d6" rather than "2d6". QDR now crashes when trying to roll this. I deleted app data and tried to rebuild my bag, but it also crashes when trying to create dice with formulas like this.

It took me a small slice of eternity to find a dice roller that didn't suck, and this is it. And yet another minor miracle, it's even better than "doesn't suck"! It's really quite good! No spam, no useless gimmicks, relatively uncluttered interface, and what I was REALLY looking for; FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE DICE! Thank you so much for making a great app!

I have been using this app for years and have used it for everything from Pathfinder, Fate, Shadowrun 4th, nWoD and 20th anniversary WoD. Great response time from the developer. While it is very flexible, the best part of designing Dice Pool formula does take some learning and trial and error. Read the documentation thoroughly!! Great app. A must for any serious tabletop RPG gamer

Pros: - named dice configurations with custom icons - lots of setting knobs to twiddle (e.g. themes) - keeps a running history of past rolls with the custom dice-icon chosen - lots of formula choices for various rule-sets and things like min/max - can set up different "dice bags" each with a particular set of dice depending on the game you're playing (I set up a GURPS bag, a Hero Kids RPG bag, and a Shadowrun bag). Cons: - while you can turn off all sound, or you can toggle the critical success/failure and text-to-speech announcement of the roll-result, you can't disable the (annoying-after-a-while) dice-roll sound while keeping the other sounds - it only produced dice results, not messages such as "success" or "failure" if you're rolling to beat a certain threshold Neither of the items in my Cons list are deal-breakers, just added functionality that would make a great app even more useful. After trying a couple others, this one gave me what I wanted.

Quick Dice Roller is a dice rolling app, but with a wealth of options not seen in most dice rollers. You got your set of common dice used in RPGs and can roll them multiple times. However, this is just scratching the surface, because Quick Dice Roller can create new rolls using its dice notation formula system, with various operations to do calculations suited to many RPGs. In addition, variables can be set to show say levels or health and be used in the dice rolls. Quick Dice Roller is free and open source software, and features not only common dice seen in most RPGs, but also the ability to customize certain rolls and use variables in calculating the right number for the game situation.

If you play any sort of role playing game, tabletop game, or miniatures game, this application is great to have in your pocket. Also works in a pinch to flip a coin!

Tried all dice apps and this is the best. Only thing that would make it better was if the blue numbers that pop up after a roll were the sum of all dice in a chain instead of each individual dice.

I tried a few dice rolling apps, and this one is by far my favorite. It handles simple and complex dice rolling tasks. It still updates. This app is just wonderful. In my opinion, if you're going to get an app for rolling dice for tabletop games, this is the one you should use.

W70%

This is the best dice roller I've used. It is customizable, fairly intuitive, and fun to play with. You can create multiple dice bags for different games or characters which is wonderful. I love the audio notifications for crits and fumbles, but I wish it could be modified so that not every min and maxed die roll will trigger the sound effect. I hope future updates will allow us to add backgrounds and other dice icons.

Was getting tired of fighting the new players for dice, and tried quite a few dice roller programs before finding this one. This is the first to match my expectations. I love that it adds dice if clicked quickly and that you can add modifiers easily. Would love some dice color and pattern customization, given how gamers like their dice to suit them, but that's minor and would add size to an otherwise small install.

Amazing dice rolling app. One of the most customizable dice rolling programs I've ever seen. The author also was very quick at answering an email I sent about the app.

This app easily allows you to get the higher of two rolls, each exploding, which is perfect for rolling a Trait Test with a Wild Die. You can also set up a single die to roll between -1 and +1 4 times (rak(rand(-1,1)4,4) for Fate games and add modifiers with the tap of a button. My only request is the ability to save dice bags across devices, perhaps as an exported file stored in Google Drive. I would love to select custom backgrounds, too.

Great for Feng Shui RPG.

You can create dice bags for different dice sets (one set per character, for example) and add custom named rolls with formulas to get the exact combinations you need. Example: Sneak attack 5d6, Dagger with shock ((d4+1)+d6), etc. Saves rolls until you want to clear them. Screen can be moved around to make room to see more roll sets or more saved rolls. I haven't found a feature I was looking for that isn't in this app. Well done. And free! I will be donating shortly though, this app deserves it.
