go49g+ for Android
Recently upgraded to support Android 5 & 6. Note: This.app does not support ARM code. However, almost everything, especially on the User RPL level is Saturn code. It will support extable, Jazz and the very powerful Emacs library. Too use Deep Reset: Select Actions -> Deep Reset . The app will exit. Go to Settings -> Apps and click Force stop. Reopen the app and the calculator will restart. Avoid Hard Reset. Use Deep Reset instead. It work if you stop the app after it quits.
After upgrading to version 1.2 the app crashes often and I lose all the unsaved data on the screen (also resets the skin and orientation.) Please fix this. This app is too expensive to be crashing like that. I'm using this app on a Galaxy S5. Other than that it's awesome and calculates like my real hp50g. I use it everyday
IF YOU HAVE KITKAT OR HIGHER before you do the unistall/reinstall or do a data clear save everything exported by Save Level 1 somewhere outside Android/os2.emul.go49gp/files/files. It is easiest to grab the os2.etc directory out of the Android directory to someplace with a file manager. After that do your uninstall/reinstall. Click Save level 1 and cancel. Then copy your files back and reload them.
How do I get the menu in the new android os?
This app has practically retired my real hp50g.
I haven't tested it much yet. My phone wouldn't be the same without it. I count my calories everyday using this app. Very handy and functions like the real 49g+. Such a powerful calculator and you can transfer files in and out of the calculator. After I got upgraded to version 1.2 the app crashes randomly (not often.) This might be due to a program I have on there though.
'Hard reset' doesn't work. Cannot paste clipboard to stack. The help pages are difficult to navigate: Suggest a swipe gesture opens an alphabet menu.
Thus is the absolute best calculator of all time. Use this app many times per day. Emulation has been rock solid. Prefer it to the actual calculator. Also like it better than the actual hp prime, ti89, or wolfram alpha on the tablet. For some tricky stuff sometimes use maxima on the tablet. Runs good on my s4 also. Only thing I use more for regular rpn math is my wp-34s. If you don't know what wp-34s is and you like hp calcs do a quick Google. UPDATE also works fine on moto x pure running marshmallow too.
This calculator is JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL. You can program it just like the original, customize the keyboard, just like the original and plot on it - just like the original. Some of my slowest plots can run in ~1/4 speed, and calculations have a much greater speed-up than plots. You can actually LOAD PROGRAMS from hpcalc - just like on the physical calculator. Being a programmer myself, I don't just hand out compliments, but this app has my highest rating!!
Got a problem with missing key presses, and in normal speed typing. Pretty annoying, and in complex calculations it's specially harmful if you miss one number in the heat of the moment, only to find out when it's one stack to late. Otherwise it's brilliant! Best emulator out there. Bit pricey, but worth it.
It is a very nice HP 49+ and HP 50g emulator but with two flaws: cramped keyboard in vertical layout and VERY annoying problem with missing keypresses on faster typing (faster, not super fast). It can't be solved by KEYTIME settings. Because of problems with keypress registration I rate otherwise 5 star application with only 3 stars.
It wastes money and totally Garbage!!! If I can I would give 0 Star!!!
Missing keystrokes if the onscreen keys are pressed too fast. Else this emulator has very stable emulation and does not crash even by prolonged use.
It says 'error loading state' when I use it. Then it has a black screen. Want to use this bad. I think I paid for this too. Asked for a refund to pay another similar app but never got it. Please fix now!!

Loaded on Samsung S5 but app won't work.
Works flawlessly as far as I can tell
I bought this a while back on a previous device and decided to try it on my nexus 6 (android 5.1). when opening the app, it shows a toast that says something about being "unable to load state" (it disappears too quickly to read), and then just sits there showing a calculator with a black screen.
Awesome. Now I have the power of hp calc in my palm!
"Unable to load state" followed by a black screen. For 14 dollars this app is a joke
Did not work at all on Nexus 6P. The 48 version (free) seems to work better. Refunded...
The developer suggested an uninstall/reinstall. This fixed a lot of the bugs. The app is useful again. IF YOU HAVE KITKAT OR HIGHER before you do the unistall/reinstall save everything exported by Save Level 1 somewhere outside Android/os2.emul.go49gp/files/files. It is easiest to grab the os2.etc directory out of the Android directory to someplace with a file manager. After that do your uninstall/reinstall. Click Save level 1 and cancel. Then copy your files back and reload them. Our developer did this update to better accommodate Android 5 and 6. Let him know of problems especially with these systems. Be sure to tell him if the bug does not appear immediately.

Couldn't get it to work within 5 minutes and at 14 dollars it's too expensive to not just work right out of the box. I loaded it up and it was just a black screen. I restarted, another black screen. I dumped programs from memory via android app switcher and it loaded but program doesn't sense rotation. I found the software orientation setting but in portrait mode buttons were visible but screen was black. Totally not worth all this trouble when it's at least 300% more expensive than it should be.
The app installed and ran well, the problem on my phone is that the skin was too big for my screen area. I tried everything to resize the skin but it would not work. I have other apps by de Smet that all are sized well and work well. This one needs more work.
First, in the calculator, do not enable 'display clock': this will lead to random crashes, but when disabled, you'll have no issues. Second, there is no way to disable haptic feedback in the app. Edit: v1.1.10 is erratic. V1.0.8 works better.
Keeps crashing on Oneplus One. How do I get a refund?
I was very glad to see Deep Reset added. This has greatly improved the app. It will get out of almost any lockup. The data, except the stack, almost always survives. I have had some experience using this app on Android 4.4.2 (kitkat). 1) Keep the internal sdcard as your default write disk. ES File Explorer will move the files than way. 2) The full pathname for your calculator files is Android/data/os2.emul.hp49gp/files/files. You must put a file here to use Load on stack. This is where Save Level 1 puts what you export. 3) You should export everything. There some tendency in KitKat for the busy annunciator to come on falsely. 4. If you get into a situation where you have to clear data copy your exports somewhere FIRST. When you get going again copy (don't move) your exports back. 5. Crashes on users other than owner. For multi-user tablets only Owner can install successfully.

It does what it needs to do. Landscape is surprisingly good, and printing works well. However, please add: file selection dialog (putting file in a random path gets old quick) and an option to change screen size, since the buttons are too small.
On my new Droid Turbo, the app has become unusable - the menu bar covers up multiple keys. Any chance of a fix? Why not use one of the phone's own keys to pull up the menu?
First, in the calculator, do not enable 'display clock'. This will lead to random crashes. When disabled, you'll have no issues. Second, there is no way to disable haptic feedback. The developer keeps repeating himself by saying that all you have to do is disable it in the phone settings, but this doesn't work for two reasons: A) I might want haptic enabled, just not in the calculator B) I disabled the phone haptic and the calculator STILL vibrates after every key press. This is true of every phone I owned.

The first run is OK after installation. But it was FC when I open it again. Please upgrade for android 5. Thanks a lot.
The hp 49 has a bug where it occasionally needs a paperclip reset. This was accomplished by adding Deep reset to the actions menu on GO↑49G. Five stars when it's done with GO↑49G+. (Another user, who reviewed on 7/29/2014, is experiencing this problem, Restarting the Android doesn't help. Deep reset fixes it on GO↑49G. Usually it loses only the stack.) In the mean time the workaround is to 1) Keep the copy of the ROM image in /sdcard/Download/. 2)Archive the Home directory every time an important change is made and save it to the Android with save level 1. 2) Use save level one to save everything stored to a port. 3) When the app locks go to Settings and do a Clear Data. Then use Load on stack get everything back.
How do I change the skin to 50g? Thx
This emulator is more temperamental than its brother, go49g, Like the rest of the '49 family, it is subject to freezing up. For now I work around the problem by backing everything up frequently, including the ports, using Save level one, If the emulator locks up I go to Settings and clear the data. This makes it behave as if newly installed. I next restore everything with Load on Stack.
