This app is very convenient. But theres a couple of obvious things missing. 1. The current tickets page doesnt show the seat number. 2. The movie summary doesnt show the movie duration. These items ate also not showing on the full site available for mobile, as far as I can tell. Th he only way to get them is on the PC Hoyts site. And by printing the ticket. Defeats the purpose of a mobile app with these important bits of information missing.

Only downloaded this so I could register the rewards card I was given. Their instructions say you can register a card using the app, but you can't! When I followed the instructions, it automatically issued a different card number. Now I have a completely useless card. They also say you can register promo codes in the app too, but you can't! It just takes you to their website, then you have to enter ALL your details again! What's the app actually for? Usability is terrible. Needs a lot of work!

Pretty badly made app, you're constantly logged out virtual every single time you open it. You can look at your tickets BUT for some completely random reason not which seats you've chosen! Overall not great, but it kind of works, looking at the ratings on here though, I doubt Hoyts cares!

Got a card for $13 from the cinema... Signed up to Hoyts to activate the card... No option for that found - seems it expects me to pay another $13 through the App? (What was the point of getting the physical card in the first place?) Could really use a UI designer... Or someone on the Dev team actually using this thing.

The app has potatial but needs work. 1) It does not show seat number on "my tickets". 2) You can't pay with paypal on the app, have to go on the website. 3) Website or app - you have to enter payment details for free tickets with $0.00 showing (member ship renewal free ticket, vouchers, anything). Has random problems when making payment, then app crashes, then your seats are locked out and can't be reselected for 7 minutes. Then you select different seats, then is crashes again, then those seats are locked out. So you try on the website, it doesnt crash but your first 2 lots of seats are still locked out.

The app takes forever to open. At this rate I would need to book tickets with a week in hand if I wanted to catch a show in the next hour. Either take it down or improve it.

Terrible app experience. My account seems to have disappeared with the recent changes to the rewards program. My old reward points are gone, not that I could use them in the app anyway as it always gave me errors. Support are useless with empty responses about future upgrades. Basic things like entering emails are a pain. To top it off I get charged extra for the "privelege" of using a barely functioning app to buy my tickets and when I asked about it instead of a valid expense reason I was in essence told they charge the booking fee because everyone else does and therefore they can.

Hopeless app. Very slow to load at best. And just hangs most of the time. Please rectify this hoyts. And just to put in context I have scores of apps on my phone including apps that instantly find all the hoyts cinema's and movies and all work fine. It's just the official hoyts that is hopeless.

Faults all the way, Hoyts Fix your app ! Freezes up, super hard to buy tickets if the app doesnt work. Needs re-designing and programming.

Complete rubbish. Last 10 movies i have tried to book. The app fails at payment screen. You loose to event cinemas which are always happy to take my family bookings.

App won't open and tells me to make sure I have internet connection.. frustrating when the link to websites from Google maps takes you to the app and you can't see anything..

This App simply doesn't work!! I'm in Adelaide with location services enabled but the app only lets me see Sydney! The email password facility didn't work either. The previous version was simple and effective. Update as at 22 May 2015. It's almost a year later yet the app still doesn't work as you would expect. It takes little or no notice of your favourites or Of your location and it still takes ages to load.

Slow to load - sometimes will need to close app and reopen for it to load. Doesn't save cinema for faster access despite 'save' button. Buggy and too data intensive for what it offers. Previous version was far better as it was simple and quick. I dislike it showing movies not yet playing or already over for today when looking at today's movies. App needs to be redesigned - either fire your dev team or give them the resources they need to do it right.

Straight up imbeciles. For over 2 yrs now cannot get a version to run properly longer than 3 weeks. This app semi worked in February for a while...now has been unable to load for 2 weeks.

Now does Not Load Anymore. Use to work but also did not save favourite cinema it had to be entered each time despite being saved every time. But now you can't even get that far. UNINSTALLED FOR GOOD

This never opens but just sits there telling you it's loading, don't bother to install it. It used to work when I first got it though

This app could be so much better, I have to put in my cinema location every time I open the app. I find booking tickets laborious, it easier in a browser, although the Hoyts website is pretty clunky too. Can you please fix everything? Scrap this app and start again.

Can't save your local cinema so you have to select it each time you go on. Look under movie times for today's date and it still comes up with movies that aren't available yet! Could me a much better app!

After waiting 2 minutes and longer for this app to load, I'm learning not to even try opening it and instead check Google for local movie times. All I want to know is a list of what's showing. Sooooo miss the old version which was mostly text, fast and easy. Wish there was a way to reload the old version - at least it would load ok. I'm uninstalling Hoyts crap app now.

Still can't select seats. Tried on multiple phones. I'm a Developer and if I built some sh*t like this I'd lose my job. Pull your acct together, this "website in a app wrapper" crap is a joke. I tolerated it for some time, at least I was able to make a seat selection. You would be surprised how people judge a business by the quality of their app. This is a total joke.

How long does it take to fix a bug that results in the app being totally useless? Are the developers only noticing the higher average ratings because of the rating of the earlier version. Does it take an average rating of 1 for the developers to notice that they are incompetent.

Tried to sign up to the rewards program through the app. It said you could register while in line and be ready to use it by the time you got to the ticket window. Got to the ticket window and the seller said you need to order and pay for a card, which wasn't mentioned in the app. Also when you click on the Rewards Card tab in your account it just takes you to the apps home screen. And i just got an email saying i signed up to a weekly newsletter even though i unticked the box about receiving emails.

I hate this ap...its total crap...doesn't load. ..won't save cinema choices so I have to select a cinema every time...it just loads n loads ...I thought it was my internet...Can't you fix this problem

9/10 times it won't let me book at all, what's the point of the app if seat selection doesn't work? Such an average to poor experience and this is on a new Nexus 6P with a fresh install.

The buy ticket option never works. Plus its more expensive to buy online than have a student trying to earn some cash to serve you. Surely it should be cheaper to not have to employ staff than the customer paying extra to do all the work????

It wad always slow to load but now it never gets past the loading screen! Not much point if I can drive to tbe cinema and check movie times thete faster than the app loads :(

Unfortunately it is a very bad app. Crashes and do not go the booking step right. Always have to buy the tix on a pc.

Clunky, doesn't store favourite cinemas and you have to select the movie title and cinema times separately. The Flixster App is far superior and with one touch everything you need is displayed !

This app is a joke. To realise that it's the official app makes it even worse. The app is incredibly slow and every single time I open it up I have to state which cinema I'm going to be going to. Why could it not save it like thousands of other apps. They really need to spend a bit of money on this. It's just not okay for this day and age

Did you guys do any user experience design for this app? You pick a day and it shows movies that are not even on that day. Picking cinemas and clicking Save does not save them for the next session. Sometimes the app won't load. Sometimes I just get a blank screen and need to exit.

I dont understand all the bad reviews on this app. Honestly everything works perfectly and I use this app very often. Plus I've used it on a few diffrent handsets with no issues at all. Keep it up.

Takes forever to load if it actually opens. You can't tell if it's working or not. Have only had it work once after leaving it loading, connected to power, and I mowed to lawns.

OK for getting information, but forget trying to book anything. Select Seats, tap the seat I want, the selected seat disappears, no new seat is selected. No way to proceed, but I can go back and select seats again in the hope I get allocated the seats I want, try that a couple of times, and the app crashes.

Stalls on loading. Others have made the same comment. I uninstalled and reinstalled just now - still doesn't work. Come on Hoytts basic things shld be done correctly.

Used to use this app all the time ... has not opened for months now ... continually says loading ... have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times but still doesn't load! FYI your competitors app has no issues!

Your app is pretty much unusable. I selected my preferred cinema and asked it to show me movies and showtimes for today's date. The list it shows includes many titles that are not playing tonight. Pretty basic fail here. I think I'll head to your competitor instead.

Doesn't remember cinema location, membership details, not updated on the day new movies come out on occasion, stalls on opening on occasion. But does correctly tell movie times.

What's happened to this app? On my HTC M7 it often stalls on loading. If I can get it load and try to book tickets, I can't scroll the button to submit my order. If I try to login, the screen just goes blank and hangs there. Seriously?

How many bad reviews do you have to get over how long a period of time to just fix this bloody thing?! Makes me think Hoyts is really struggling if they can't spare a few hours for someone to fix this thing...
