Snapper Mobile for Android
All I wanted to do was check the balance of my snapper card but I have to sign up for an account. Seriously!? Stop wasting my time. Uninstalled! In this age of having to create an account for everything, it would be breath of fresh air to be able to access the basic functionality of something without having to jump through this hoop. I don't have to sign up for an account to ride the bus or get my cards balance in a shop. Why is my phone special?
I have a wallet case and this app scans the card every time I open my case.... that's extremely annoying. Please add a settings option to disable auto scan when app is closed. Uninstalling now, but will happily reinstall when this setting is enabled.
Hopeless, really unuser-friendly app. Doesn't let you create an account, doesn't say why not, doesn't give you instructions. Having to contact their feedback page just to create an account is pretty hopeless.
I don't know what has been updated recently, but this app used to work perfect for me. But now, I can't even have it installed on my phone without it halting the OS and the app having a melt down. Terrible stuff.
Every time I try to download and use this app it comes up with a plain screen with a mobile on it, I hold my snapper to it and it does nothing then 20 minutes later will start messing with my phone creating all sorts of noises. The help section is no use as I have none of the screens they write about available to me. Then finally it registers my card takes my.money and doesn't put it on the snapper!
Very temperamental. Could only log in once this morning using the NFC reader and then it didn't process my top up. Tried for 10 more mins to log in again to process top up, wouldn't read my card. Then the bus came.
Doesn't seem to have much instruction or information on how to use the app, what it offers or features. To open the app I MUST have NFC turned on. Usability, look and feel is very basic and I look forward to seeing some improvements as this app has a lot of potential.
First time using the app, there were no instructions on how to start. The process of registering my card was unclear and failed. Most of the services returned errors. Bad usability overall.
Works with Sony xperia X and is hassle free. Seems that most negative reviews aren't realistic like complaining about nfc must be on, as if it works magically.
This initially troubled me on my one plus 5 to read the snapper. Somehow, Im able to use the app to recharge and check my snap bal
Called the support centre as soon as something went wrong with the app and eventually with their help I figured out the problem was at my end and the top up and so on is back to working properly again. Thanks team.
makes it so easy topping up from your phone on the go. Sometimes the system takes awhile to read the card so comes up error for several attempts
Absolute rubbish app. Downloaded and reinstalled the app several times over a couple weeks, but every time it just loads to a plain white screen with a red bar reading "snapper" at the top and a back arrow, which doesn't respond. The entire app doesn't respond and I have to force close the phone to get the rest of my apps back to normal. Rubbish service to go with the app, as I emailed for help, some time ago, including screen shots and never received a response back.
So frustrating, app launches everytime the phone comes close to a paywave card; I.e all the time when I use my phone with a wallet style case
Useful app, lets you check and top up your snapper bus card. A bit finicky occasionally, but generally serves its purpose.
Working brilliantly on my Samsung S5 (Clearer instructions about keeping your card against the phone at all times would have saved some trial and error). Makes the whole loading the card process so much easier.
Annoyed my husband can't use it with his iPhone. Works a treat on my HTC.
Snapper app really good. Having to be a 2degrees customer with a special sim is REALLY BAD. Snapper work with Spark or Vodafone to provide a much better service where i can get coverage.
The functionality of the app isn't clear when you first open it... I would love to use this AS my snapper card as I have a capable smartphone... See people using smartphones as snapper cards and want to know how to do that. Glad I can use this to top up in the meantime though
Great App that works only on Wellington Go Busses. Good visual design and pretty easy to use. Connecting your credit card is easy. Just be aware the card readers in busses doesn't always read the NFC. I always have a backup Snapper available. But otherwise all good!
This app is great! You can top up and check any snapper cards balance/history and all so quick and simple too, just turn on nfc and hold it against the back of the phone. Fantastic job!!!
Does what it should. Allows you to check your balance and top up with ease. Zero complaints
The app does well on Older phones like the s4 but it seems to be sometimes faulty on samsung's newer products such as the S8
Just bought a new Samsung S5. This app doesn't work at all. When I fire it up all I get is a blank screen.
App does not read data on my HTC 10. It keeps making noise but does not read or display any data.
This App is great but I would like to see the ability to track the balances of multiple cards not even in real time but just the last time they were checked
I'm getting a oops something when wrong when trying to top up my card. Useless. Please fix it.
I want to know how to use my phone to snapper on the bus instead of using a snapper card I have seen people do this. Could someone ring me to guide me through the steps please
Simply awesome mobile app that works in harmony with your snapper card. No glitches or other nuisance. I love it.
I have NFC active on my phone and everything but the app simply won't detect my card.
This app worked beautifully on my previous Nexus 5; however, on my new Huawei Mate 9, it doesn't read my card at all. Any suggestions?
Love this app, so much more convenient then having to go to a store to top up each time. Nice work snapper team! :)
Does what it says on the label: get the balance of your Snapper, top it up, and if you're really keen tells you how much part journeries were.
All I wanted to be able to do was top up and it repeatedly says something has gone wrong.
I cant top up the card with NFC. What's wrong?
Doesn't work with 'gray' import and phones purchased overseas.
Love this app so much it's super helpful for when I'm at the bus stop or topping up my card! Love it, great app
If you have a fob snapper (which cost $25) it's incompatible. Can't do a top -up; snapper folks totally indifferent; the only solution offered is to get a card. The reason I bought the fob was because that was my preferred form factor: now it's obsolete.
Same as Ben Hunter. Android 7.0 on Nexus 5X. Two different phones. Crashes when I hit the top up button after selecting amount. Have submitted multiple crash reports.

Now everything works, online topup, balance check and real time fare. Old comment may still be true for S5.... Short cut opens a white pane with a red banner at top. In white is the title snapper and a left arrow. The whole pane fails to respond to touch. The only way to exit.is with the Samsung back button.
