You can access your bank account without enabling internet service. This service uses voice connectivity. *99# is the common service code across all telecom service providers.

No need of SMS to track your balance. Application works on USSD *99# and does not require any Internet GPRS, no need to stand on queue in-front of ATM's.

One of the best ways to utilize mobile banking is through USSD *99#.

As USSD code connects to the telecom operator’s server, it also connects to bank’s server. Hence, it gives you access to your bank account and performs some transaction. The entry to your bank account is given on the basis of registered mobile number. Thus, you must use registered mobile number to dial the USSD code.

UPI goes live with 21 banks in India to enable cashless transactions using your smartphone

NEFT and RTGS both involve a pretty significant delay, so you don't need to bother about that. UPI is based on IMPS, so in a basic sense, there's no big difference. UPI apps basically feature IMPS system designed for a mobile world - it's much more convenient to use, and easier to set up.

You can’t pay for online shopping through the IMPS. But UPI gives the easiest way of online payment.
