About SW Maps - GIS & Data Collector
SW Maps is a free GIS and mobile mapping app for collecting, presenting and sharing geographic information.
Whether you are conducting a full scale GNSS survey with high precision instruments, need to collect large amount of location based data using nothing but your phone, or just need to view a few shapefiles with labels over a background map on the go, SW Maps has it all covered.
Record points, lines, polygons and even photos and have them displayed over your choice of background map, and attach custom attribute data to any feature. Attribute types include text, numbers, an option from a predefined set of choices, photos, audio clips and videos.
Conduct high accuracy GPS surveys using external RTK capable receivers over Bluetooth.
Draw features on the map by adding markers, and measure distance and area.
Reuse the layers and attributes of a previous project for another survey, or create templates and share them with other users.
Share the collected data with other users as KMZ or shapefiles, or export them to your device storage.

To load MBTiles, KML and shapefiles from external SD card, create the following folders in the SD card root and copy files to the relevant folders.

Unlike some other apps, this one can take background raster tiles and if you "cache" the area of interest that you'll be visiting, you won't need cell coverage. Nice to be able to build your project on the fly, then add layers and edit layer attributes/fields. Easy to export to shapefiles and kml. Awesome way to share field data between users by navigating to SWmaps folder and sharing via Bluetooth. Web Pseudo Mercator EPSG3857 is currently only importable projection. Rarely rendering bug of imported data.

But it doesn't handle any US - FORESTRY shape files I throw at it. There appears to be differences in the coordinate system.

I like it, but it could use some improvement. The good...nice layout, very user friendly, extremely easy to load layers. The bad...online only basemap, although you could use a basemap as a layer, shp files over 5mb load extremely slow, screen will turn off which is inconvenient when using it like I do. Also, after 3-4 hours while using the track feature the app just shut down. I loaded a few layers of public land for hunting so they are easier to find. Overall a good app with room for improvement.

It will great if u add the atribute for each tap. For line it is ok one atribute druring drawing but for point you need atribute for each tap (point). Now we must creat new point layer for different atributes
