About Note Recognizer

The Note Recognizer is meant for people who are seriously involved in active music making. This app is not a game. The Note Recognizer analyses the pitch frequency that you sing or play, and gives the corresponding note name. Very useful for singers who need to find the right starting note of a song. Or if you want to know the key of a song; sing the tonic, and you get the note name of the key. Also great as a tuner for guitar, or checking your intonation on flute, violin or any instrument. No fancy graphics, but perfectly visible layout for dark venues and gloomy practice environments. Choose from different note naming systems such as Indian Sargam or Do Re Mi.

Recognition range: E2 - G7. Whistling above this range wil NOT be recognized.

Now with Live Notation; play your musical idea on an instrument and have it transformed to musical notation. Watch your score grow while playing. Save the notation as an image file and send it to your dropbox or share it with friends.

Notes:
To be able to save the notation, you need at least Android 4.0 on your device. Older versions will give an error.
Live Notation will not work for whistling, as the notes are above the normal musical range for instruments.
The quality of the microphone of your device may influence the performance of the app.

Its good, BUT (told ya) it doesnt id. chords. I can overlook not doing the bass clef....kinda. but musician that r trying their hand at composing, learning to play and or read, or just wanna know what key a person is in, bass clef is needed. Also have not been able to convert from jpg to midi. Other than that i do use it for quick melodies when away from keyboards

I've read other people's reviews and they have all held true. I was trying to use this for transcript purposes and oh my god. It doesn't recognize notes consecutively. I was trying to get the basic skeleton for the song "Don't Stop Me Now" and I was singing at 120 bpm and I replayed the notes and the beats sounded nothing close to the lyrics. I've used every adjustment possible. Nothing works. I didn't sing the song by the way. I played it.

It's ok for guitar.there are more accurate ones with more in them .but it's a good simple one to keep on your phone for quick tunes for campfire picking.for serious performance tuning stop using your phone.these apps are ment for simple situations guys and most are free.I see so many expect these apps to do miracles.if your a serious musician, spend 20$ on a tuner for important use.you can then use it to test app accuracy for to make sure I have a more accurate app

The best tuner i found so far, it detects notes instant and correct, it doesnt hesitate like other apps, amazing usefull to learn play sting instruments. The only thing i dream of when using it is the way to indicate tune not only by a name but also by note on a bass or violin key score sheet. Please add this, if possible!

The tuner portion of the app works fine, but you can find apps exclusively for that purpose that do it better. The note note recognition is horrid. On songs I play for it, it only gets half of the base notes on a /good/ try, and even when using instruments to pluck out one note at a time, the accuracy is abysmally low. It takes me less time to write out the notes by hand on other sheet music applications.

This program is very good. The only thing it needs some tweaking so I could actually record correctly the notes. I love that I can playback. If you make a professional version I would purchase it but this version still needs some work.

U70%
by U####:

The best way to use this is to play high quality music into your phone speakers or otherwise sing the song yourself with the phone close to your face. Make sure you hit the right note! :)

N70%
by N####:

Definitely a great app. However, there's still a lot of room for improvement. I would like to see 16th and possibly even 32nd notes, as well as faster tempos. 8th notes at 120 is simply far too slow for many songs.

its reaally help for live playing with live songs which we dont know tune it will tune automatically I enjoyed with this app..thanx and ads are really disturb ed the flow

X70%

This thing is basically useless. It jumps all over the scale despite playing a clear, constant note

U70%
by U####:

Learning violin so it's important for ear training to know if I'm landing on the right notes and whether it's as close to pitch as possible. This has been the only app thus far to keep up accurately with a decent tempo so it doesn't become tedious. Still makes a valiant attempt at faster beat.

Intrusive ads caused me to uninstall this app in less than 30 seconds.

Better than nothing, but it's a far cry from SoundCloud Express. It's confusing at first because the needle, which i assume represents tiny pitch changes, erratically jumps around and feels as prominent as the current note (app ignores volume, shows background noise). Note icon leads to recording mode, which doesn't record a capella reliably and can only handle LONG notes. The camera icon saves a screenshot; you can't actually replay your music later. Might help if it could play a reference note.
