Use the app with Google cardboard to travel from the connected to the unconnected world in Virtual Reality, or use the White Spots map to explore the unconnected world yourself.
The VR mode shows the invisible world of digital signals around you and takes you on a journey to the unconnected world though a series of immersive 360º stories.
In Map mode, the high res White Spots map shows the global divide between the connected and the unconnected word. Browse the map to explore stories about offline life from people around the world or venture into uncharted territory yourself using the White Spots Route Planner.
The Route Planner finds a route to a White Spot near you and invites you to add new stories to the map.

Unable to find GPS position. While other apps can get the GPS signal, White-spots can't. Looks like a bug in the app, please fix! (Running on Marshmallow 6.0.1 - opengl 3.1). Hopefully this will be fixed in the future so anybody could enjoy this app!

App opens with error message saying it can't determine my GPS position and that's it. You can't get into the app after this error message. Uninstalling I'm afraid...

Interesting app. Suggested improvements: being able to skip intro when going in the app; selecting a 'story' yourself. Use the 'back' key (too) to hide the menu when it is open; in fact I was kicked out of the app several times when trying to go back using the 'back' key. Maybe add a confirmation (2nd press of back) there. Make the app smaller (although that could be difficult if it has to work offline as well...)

Despite available location service app fails to position multiple times. The white spots in my neighbourhood are questionable (middle of a village in NL??). On top of that the app makes my phone unresponsive and restart often. On functional side: App wont let me find white spots near a chosen location. Missed chance: A lot of stories come from small white spits in connected areas. Where are stories from the real unconnected areas? Maybe because they were unable to connect ;-) ? The idea is great, execution poor!.....
