This app is not a replacement to a beacon costing $200, but many people simply dont buy beacons because they cant afford it. This a great alternative. All negative comes here must be coming from idiots who can't understand that its better to have this app and have a chance to be found than dont have any device that may save your life because you can't afford it and you dead. Big respect to everybody who started this app.

All good awesome idea hope it develops and gets better. Buried my phone in the snow (wrapped it in a plastic bag first! ) used my friends Samsung with the same app and he found it in no time at all. A handy thing to have as a back up.

Good idea but average user interface and the hotspot is forcing the general wifi to be off so I had to remove the app to come back to a normal wifi quickly. Keep going, it is because people try that they find new way of doing things. Compare to the ones who criticize the concept, not everyone can afford a special jacket or rent stuff. If it increase your chance to be founded by 1% it is already very good.

I've tried it several times now and it works remarkably well! Keep on developing this stuff!

If I could give negative stars for something as asinine as this I would. You guys want to delude someone new to backcountry travel into thinking this is a viable tool? The Canadian Avalanche Center has already issued a warning... Come on people. Don't mess with people's lives. This is a joke.

only use this to find your buddies in the bar use for training only take an old phone throw it in the woods then go find it act like its the real thing

Upon installing and testing this app I discovered 1. That it worked poorly 2. Once uninstalled my wifi settings had been changed 3. I can't use my phones internet!!! I can only make a call and that is it. I've got no 3g or 4g- this app completely screwed my phone. Restart doesn't help and the app caused my friend who was downloading it to work with mine to crash and he also has no internet ability. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. WILL CRASH YOUR PHONE AND CHANGE SETTINGS!!

Good idea, but needed ALOT more testing before release. It could potentially interfere with an actual avalanche transceiver... shutting down a searching transceiver or interfering with a transmitting transceiver. Downloaded it, ran it, and could not shut it down except for shutting down my droid 2 global. ATK couldn't kill it... NEEDS MORE TESTING and functionality. I will change my rating as things change and will post as we do more testing with it on interference with actual avalanche transceivers. THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR RESCUE OR YOUR SATETY. IT IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY!
