Simpletask Dropbox

Right now I'm hating it: something is wrong with the installation process It is not creating its folder in Dropbox/Apps. EDIT: It's working now; I reinstalled Dropbox on my (Linux) PC (tho I'm not sure how this would affect the install process on the mobile app), and I can create & edit tasks. SOME ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I really need to be able to continue using the todo.txt command-line scripts to work with the file when on the PC; this can be accomplished by editing the todo.cfg file accompanying those scripts. However, the spaces in the Simpletask directory name on Dropbox cause problems when doing this, and I needed to create a symbolic link without spaces in the name in the Dropbox Apps directory to make it work. I have read that links can cause issues with Dropbox, and I am seeing a very slow sync back to the Simpletask app when editing on the PC with the CLI scripts. I suggest the Simpletask directory name be one without spaces.

Great job keeping this updated. Nice simple todo solution. I was happy to donate/pay a few dollars for such a useful tool.

He nailed it! I've tried lots of todo list apps, and this is clearly just the right one for me. Has all the important features plus far more flexibility than any other that I have seen. And it is very fast too.

I've been using this for years. Because of the super simple integration with Dropbox, and the ability to use the cli on my desktop, this makes Simpletask one of the most flexible tools available.

Was 5 star but with last update it no longer preseeds the current filter Metadata when adding an item. How do I get that back?

Missing features: 1. Removing labels from multiple entries (check boxes would help) 2. Copy/cut/paste entries 3. Adding custom meta labels to multiple tasks (e.g., do:yyyy-mm-dd). 4. Transfering entries between text files (e.g., move to done.txt, ideas.txt, etc.). Save button gets in the way when entering an item. Otherwise has almost everything you'd need ranging from the basics like labels to widgets to filters and batch operations (e.g., batch label, archive, etc.), would also be perfect as a desktop app (no other program offers this many flexible features).

Simple and effective, dropbox sync works fine, letting me build my workflow and never lose focus. Thanks for the great work done here.

Hierarchical structure is missing

At last.... The headlines of this app should read: "Simpletask continues where Gina Trapani left off'. This should attract the attention of those already using 'todo.txt' as this follows the same formatting & rules. In fact, Simpletask was able to sync up the actual todo.txt within the todo directory from Dropbox (/todo/todo.txt) by default. It definitely fills up the missing gaps that I hoped the original todo.txt was missing such as (based on my needs and experience Pro's include): -Use todo.txt terms (due to the fact that Simpletask uses +tag @list) -Capitalize new tasks -Calander reminders (create automatically from due dates) Unfortunately where this app struggles (especially from a glance - Con's include): -Keeping in mind that Simpletask re-words the terms used to label context/projects as list/tag....and for @lists, they're located above each task that has one and it's hard on the eyes. IMHO it should really be located at the right-hand size of each list since the spacing between each other is huge. -spacing between each task is huge which makes it difficult to peripherally read your tasks. -Too many fiddling options -Sorting should be monolithic to standard todo.txt

If I add more than one context, the task only shows up in one context group.

Used this for almost a year now. My go to mobile version of todo.txt (just use Sublime editor on desktop). Recurring syntax & Lua script implementation are perfect. Recent update altered alpha sort to letters only (numbers at start of line no longer sort numerically or above letters), which is disappointing and seems an odd regression. For plain text organizers, this & SimpleTask Cloudless are the the best out there.

Could the widget be allowed to be made larger that 2x2? Would make it a lot more usable. Can barely read anything in such a small space!

This app shows great promise, but unfortunately I can't use it because it requires syncing with a Dropbox account. I use ownCloud. Are there any plans for providing users the opportunity of syncing with other cloud storage solutions?

Once you get used to it, the only to do app you'll ever need. You can customize the sort orders to make it adapt to almost any productivity system.

Easier than the paper list I would walk around with all day. Just the right amount of features.

No distractions, just plain todo.txt. Works great, even with multiple users using the same file in Dropbox.

First todo app that I've been really happy with.

Great app. I feel you must be able to order tasks in the file, and control where in that order you want to insert new tasks. Missing that capability. Otherwise, not bad at all, I would say best todo.txt app for android! BR! /marcus

When I edit an item there is no way to save the changes. Edit: You're AWESOME Dude!

After yesterday's update, my tasks aren't exhibiting. I can see the txt files in my Dropbox account. Other todo.txt apps can open files normally, but Simpletask. What happened?

Recently switched from using Remember the Milk. Todo.txt & simpletask made the transition seemless.

Better than the official todo. txt app. Todo. txt cli is hands down the best todo list manager and this app is the perfect mobile complement to that program.

I guess I misunderstood the philosophy of the app, sorry about that! Still, I like to prioritize by order in my todo.txt, so I though I would be able to do that in the app as well. Thanks for offering it for free!

The best task manager I have ever used.

The calendar integration is still a little clunky, but this app does what I want and far more. It makes GTD simply no fuss at all. I'm looking forward to using it for years to come.

I love the simplicity and functionallity of this app. What I like most is advanced filtering. Even for batch operations this app is more convenient than a pc with an feature rich editor.

Great features and flexible to use how you want. Would be nice if there was a way to disable the sync without logging out of Dropbox of turning off the internet.
