About Ema Personal Wiki v3

The Personal Wiki app enables you to take notes in a structure you can create an manage freely, like a website. Using wikiwords you can create notebook with linkable pages for tracking your ideas, information, todo lists, tasks, bookmarks, projects, notes, brainstorms - in short, your life - in the most flexible way.

If you enable access to Dropbox in the app, the pages will all be synchronized to your Dropbox account. The wiki uses Markdown syntax for editing the pages and stores the pages on your SD-card.

This is a free, and ad-free app.

There is also a Windows version, see the project page http://janwillemb.github.io/Ema-Personal-Wiki/ for more information.

The great app for my notes. However, after the update, some Chinese Characters Pages to be blank. The .txt files were there. Tried to build a new page that filename to be "___.txt". Looked like a character encoding problem. Error Log: Error getting 中文.txt from store: {"msg":"Error in getFileContents for __.txt","error":{"code":1,"message":"NOT_FOUND_ERR"}}

Very useful app for keeping organized notes on phone and desktop. No special file formats all data stored in text files. Annoying bug: on tablet while editing a page, any tap outside the edit window makes the edit window disapear without saving! The app hangs and has to be comletely closed and restarted.

This is by far the best of the wiki apps currently available. My only criticism is that internal links (i.e. WikiWords) cannot have a different link text than the page to which the link connects, e.g. [[link text|page]]. In my case, this means I cannot have two [[character] pages for two books. I can work around this with e.g. [[book1.characters]] and [[book2.characters]], but this looks ugly on the marked-up page, particularly in lists! There is a donate link within the app, and I would gladly donate were there a chance of getting this small amendment.

Android 5 users might encounter a problem with accessing a server; however rebooting the app by stopping it and relaunching it seems to get round it. Keep up the good work!

Do you plan to allow it to be password protected as that would be really useful.

Glad to see an update. Thought this was a dead project but I still use it all the time organize notes for novels and the like. Especially with Dropbox so I can write things down and keep them synchronized whether I'm on PC or phone or tablet.

The app is great. I've been using the windows version as well. Good work. However, about once a week my content disappears and the default home page comes back. Good thing I have a backup copy on my laptop. I'm not using Dropbox sync.

It works every bit as well as the old version, & looks a little smarter. The search facility is a very welcome addition, but the size has risen from 127k to 41M! A smart, fast, reliable program. Thanks, Jan!

Much better than the original and a fine example of how a personal wiki should be, but still doesn't support tags, group or categories to organise your notes. Will update to a 5 star if this was added.

Don't have drip box don't want it however I have 16gigs of space on my devices, in glad some developers notice that.

Works ok. Can't add notes that contain code snippets as curly brackets are recognised as being a link to a new page.

Love this app. Syncs info I use constantly on my laptop, tablet and phone.
