Ultimate Rotation Control for Android
Great app - the best available for sure. (Others can do the same things but are not as intuitive.) For anyone using Xiaomi MiUI, please note that it's necessary to enable Ultimate Rotation's Popup Permissions via Security>Settings to get rotation to "stick". This also enables rotation of the Home Screen which is what I have been trying to do for ages. Thanks, FaMe IT!!
I originally rated this app 5 stars because it was just brilliant but an update a few days ago changed the situation. I could no longer get my home screens to rotate into landscape which is what I wanted the app for in the first place. Sent Facebook msg to Fame It and received reply and Solution within the hour. Happy. Good service.
Since the last update, rotation has stopped working with the in built apps on my Xperia Z3 e.g. Camera and Album apps. Not working with the camera is a show stopper that makes the app useless. Emailed Dev twice now, but got no reply. Obviously can't be bothered to support their app. Want a refund of the licence I bought.
bought the paid application months ago, but I was recently messing with my phone (roms, rooting and such) and the application became unlinked through the process. Customer service was quick to reply with a fix for me and now I'm back to my auto rotate like before Thanks!!
For some reason this and Set Rotation disable the navigation keys on my Marshmallow OnePlus One. Rotation now seems to be well implemented in Cyanogen OS 13.1.2 without an additional app. I suspect they were conflicting with each other. The new phone I ordered because I thought I had a hardware failure was unnecessary.
It's a pretty good app. Have been using for a long while now. However, now in Nougat, the service doesn't seem to run indefinitely. It is killed for some reason at some point of time. I have set this app as "not optimized" but this still happens. Is there a method to make sure it is persistent?
Update: App still does not work properly. Issues remain the same. Rotates home screen on ZTE n9521, Lollipop 5.1 phone but does not display icon tags at all and Google search bar is not displayed properly. This issue is present on several other apps like this one.
working as it should. It didnt work (forced auto or any auto option) on my oneplusone after 5.1.1 update turns out my accelerometer sensor f*cked up. After facory reset and wiping dalvic cache and reflashing 5.1.1 its working again.**Edit 2 Time to update for nougat... it disables automatically after the screen is off.
Been using this for a while and it was always fantastic. But recently it has become almost completely broken on my galaxy s6, maybe it was the marshmallow update I don't know, but it almost never works, if it does rotate it immediately goes back. If that doesn't change soon I'm going to have to uninstall.
Primarily its been the case that my phone rotates when I'm in the middle of something. Talk about annoying right? This app gives you control of the rotation and plenty of settings. Using shortcuts to toggle rotation is also a very good feature. -stock android-rom(modified 6.0)
This is the only rotation app worth using, it's one of only five apps I install on every new phone. Speaking of which, I just got this phone repaired and for whatever reason it's acting like I haven't purchased it. How do I fix it? (Edit: Never mind, it's google play's issue, not yours).
I've had this app for a while and was unpredictable when I first set it up but since a few updates it seems to be working okay, but it can still screw up your apps if you don't do some setting up first, a bit pricey for how basic it is. Pretty useful app when it's stable.
My smartphone does not have rotate at all but this app somehow makes rotation happen! To bad it costs money after the trial period. Onto the next one.
Claim about "force auto" is bogus for me. Auto rotate has been totally and unconditionally disabled, at least for quarter turns. Bitterly and passionately disappointed, but problem might not be due to this app.
Now why the hell should someone pay a darn $3 to be able to force rotate their screen? What next God is goin to charge me when I breathe heavily? Absolutely disgraceful, I really did love the app and it was useful but now I am forced to pay in order to use it and that really sets me off..... it was a good 7 days though!
never had a problem with this app until I installed an update on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Now I get random notifications problem bout the screens orientation and the orientation changes. I also noticed when I attempted to uninstall/reinstall the app that the app needs permission to read my browsing history. Why does it need that?
Bought the paid version and while it works it will also stop running and I have to reopen the app to engage the rotation again. Added: Also resets the global settings whenever it feels like it and I have to change them back to make the app actually work.
First of all, it is 'Free' for only seven days. Second, it randomly rotates apps (your settings choice is irrelevant) causing clipping with your wallpaper and menus. Overall, good idea but poor execution. My second choice was much better.
Doesn't work on my note 3, which has auto rotate. Was looking for forced rotate on a few apps and home screen, but unfortunately it does not rotate to fit screen. It rotates too large or too small making the apps useless. Guess I'll just stick to what the app want me to do. Was hoping this would work for docking.
Great idea and tool but it keeps deactivating. The settings in place would work a few days thn turn off. Frustrating to use. Would easily b 5 stars if not so buggy
Seemed to work fine for the first few days. Now it's making screens spin that never rotated before. This despite the global settings and/or per-app settings I have been using.
I love this app, with one exception. It sometimes randomly changes the global settings for my lock screen orientation and when that is not in a portrait mode I can't unlock my phone without a reboot it tricking it into rotating (like with a phone call). Otherwise love it, should be built into Android. Per so settings are very useful.
It does exactly what I needed. When setting it to auto force it rotates your screen whichever way you turn your phone! Even upside down. Perfect when the top of your screen is broken and you're to cheap to get it fixed :-) thank you!
ap does not work. Even if it did, it's not free, as advertised! BEWARE!!
I bought the licence when I had an S3 and really enjoyed forcing the system to fit in landscape. But now with my new S5, when I set the home screen on landscape, icons are missing at the bottom and I cannot even see everything in the quick access (the icons that stays there along with the Apps button). It's sad that it doesn't work well anymore for how I use it and need it.
why pay for the right to rotate your phone?i know the developers want more money in their backpocket. not happy.
This app used to work perfectly and I've used it for years. Now, it does not obey per-app settings and I have to change the setting manually. Not happy.
This app actually rotates even the phone system itself with the lock screen, home, and everything. Ive tried other apps but their settings were confusing and did not work at all. This app legitimately forces the system to rotate. Very very useful to me because half of my screen sensors dont work so i need to rotate screens to be able to touch the other side of apps. Works great but could improve by adding options like run app on startup and fixing empty hotbar buttons like instagram (hotbar disappears)
Great app....until Nougat! Unfortunately after I updated my Oneplus3 to the latest version (based on Nougat) the home screen/s do not allow for landscape mode. This app does auto rotate the homescreen, but it's all mangled and messed up (and screens don't swipe). Developer says it's an Android issue and doesn't depend on this app. Possibly, but it used to work soo well. :( I drive a lot, so my phone is often in landscape mode. bummer.
Constantly shaking my phone just to get it to stop being sideways at the wrong times; and it repeatedly shifts into the wrong orientation for God knows what reason. Good idea, poorly implemented. I feel sorry for the fools who paid money for this.
Paid version. The app continuously notifies me of the rotation status even though I haven't changed it in weeks. Very annoying.
This app is fantastic at controlling orientation on a app to app basis, it would annoy the crap out of me when Spotify would change orientation in my pocket and I like opera always landscape mode, this app can do both. Highly recommended.
I like this application because it just works. And I did not want to have my screen just flip flop all over the place without my say so. That was driving me crazy. It will straighten out the rotation madness once and for all. When you grab the phone upside down and you have it set to a particular way it will always go that way informing that your phone is upside down instantly by visual inspection. It is really cool especially I noticed when you are always on a bumpy bus and once you set the specific application options then it is rock solid stable as hell. One neat thing is to set Youtube videos to landscape mode and when you are surfing the app store it will auto landscape itself and then when you push back button it will go back to your defined settings which I like portrait mode for the store. I can't wait to try it on a tablet to. ":---) Thank you this is so worth it. Ow yeah and if you want to switch to a different rotation the notification bar helps you switch so fast and quick it is amazing!
So, a month later and it still doesn't work - I'm disappointed... This used to work very well, but now the per-App settings seem to have no effect... Please could you let me know what the problem might be? It appears that I can't change the Accessibility setting to On.
App is broken, doesn't function anymore property on Sony Xperia Z3, because the camera can't be launched with any of rotation settings. Before it worked on auto but not anymore...
This app actually rotates even the phone system itself with the lock screen, home, and everything. Ive tried other apps but their settings were confusing and did not work at all. For some reason the accessibility toggle for this app keeps resetting to disabled on my Samsung tab A and I have to enable it every time
Works for SOME apps, then not others. Today for some reason it decided to turn my screen upside down and refused to rotate. Waste of money
It's a very useful application if you screen cracked. You can use you mobile on 180 degree rotating mode and you can finalize your work on the device. Thank you developer.

Update: it looks like per app settings do not work anymore. The last update was on Februaty 2016, and app specific rotations do not override on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (which is before 2016). So I'm not sure what's wrong. I have found a new alternative that works. This app might be old and it might need a UI refresh but it is still the best rotation override app. The individual APP rotation settings is what many other apps don't offer and it provides an exhuastive list of the rotation options that for some reason other apps don't have. To summarize, this is the comprehensive rotation app.
