Bartiméus Zien App

Als goedziende medemens komen we dat nooit helemaal te weten. Maar de ZIEN App kan bijdragen aan een stukje bewustwording.

Wanneer een familielid of een bekende in je naaste omgeving slechtziend wordt, wil je graag weten wat slecht zien inhoudt en wat die persoon dan nog wel en niet kan zien. Daarnaast hebben professionals behoefte aan uitleg over slechtziendheid en oogaandoeningen, om patiënten/cliënten zo goed mogelijk te begrijpen en te ondersteunen. De App kan ook als voorlichting op bijvoorbeeld scholen, op het werk en in de zorg gebruikt worden.

De ZIEN App laat de gebruiker door middel van realtime waarneming van zijn omgeving de vijf meest voorkomende varianten van slechtziendheid bij volwassenen ervaren. Het geeft een indruk waarmee de gebruiker zich enigszins kan inleven. Bartiméus hoopt daarbij ook dat gebruikers beseffen wat een oogaandoening voor invloed op iemands leven kan hebben.

Let wel: de beelden van de vijf oogaandoeningen zijn simulaties en tonen daarom niet exact aan wat iemand met een bepaalde oogaandoening (nog) ziet. Dat wat iemand nog (wel) ziet, hangt af van veel verschillende factoren: onder andere de leeftijd en in welk stadium de oogaandoening verkeert. SEE The App allows the user by means of real-time observation of his surroundings experienced the five most common types of visual impairment in adults. It gives an impression that the user can somewhat empathize. Bartiméus thereby hopes that users understand what may have an eye condition to affect a person's life.

Note that the images of the five eye simulations and therefore do not show exactly what someone with a specific eye condition (still) see. What anyone yet (though) sees depends on many different factors including the age and the stage of his eye condition.
