About OddSpot

We charge a small amount for the app to cover research expenses. All revenues will be reinvested in the further development of our research.

OddSpot asks you a set of questions about the spot on your skin and determines the likelihood that a spot is Actinic Keratosis (a possible precursor to skin cancer) or Basal Cell Carcinoma (a form of skin cancer) based on your answers. Our predictive model is based on our scientific research on previous spots and generates a prediction that is comparable in accuracy to that of a trained professional.

Actinic Keratosis (AK) is a condition of the skin that can be a precursor of skin cancer. Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is a common type of skin cancer. Both manifest themselves as suspicious spots on the skin.

AK and BCC are more and more common in the general population. They are not so easy to diagnose because malignant spots can have different combinations of characteristics.

Please note that this app is an aid, and should be used with care. When in doubt, consult your physician.

app works very intuitively. The warnings about accuracy of the predictions are clear. In all a solid tool that I trust more then the physicians, which i have consulted in the past, as they often based their judgment on outdated knowledge; very annoying.
