About Live Caster
Live Caster gives internet and terrestrial broadcasters 'Live Assist' capability from Android devices. Live Caster captures high quality audio from your devices' microphone, encodes it to MP3 (and soon Ogg Vorbis), and streams it to any Shoutcast compatible server.
Live Caster uses native audio encoding and streaming libraries to give the best performance possible. The only delay is the short buffer required to ensure smooth streaming, typically 2 seconds. Tested with Airtime (https://www.sourcefabric.org/en/airtime/) and Icecast2, but Live Caster should be compatible with any broadcasting software that accepts Shoutcast style live assist connections.

I run a community radio station, and we use Airtime automation software and was looking for a Shoutcast compatible live streaming source app, and Live Caster works perfectly. Now DJs can stream live audio directly from their mobile device's microphone. Simple to set up and run, just make sure you know the mount point details from your server.
