About PixiVisor

PixiVisor is a tool for experimenting with the transmission of video over audio.
It consists of two parts: Transmitter and Receiver.
* Transmitter converts the low-resolution video (stream from camera, static image or GIF animation) to sound in real time, pixel by pixel (progressive scan). So any image or animation can be transferred to the other devices through the sound.
* Receiver converts the sound (from microphone or Line-in input) back to video. You can set the color palette for this video, and record it to animated GIF file.

Examples of use:
* wireless Lo-Fi video transmission over audio;
* video signal transmission through audio cable; you can then modify that signal by some mixers or audio FX processors;
* VJing;
* sound visualization;
* searching for hidden messages in the ambient noise; EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon), ITC (Instrumental Transcommunication);
* save any sound to animated GIF;
* something else...

PixiVisor is also available for iOS, Windows, Linux and macOS.

Thank you Mr. Zolotov, for being so awesome. The app doean't have much use, but I suppose that is not really its intention. A great little experiment.

Love this, pretty fun experimentation to be had, looking forward to updates. Wish i could have in full screen and control a visual element, like palette, through x y controller on video area, or something like that. Always a supporter of alex' work

Very unique, great work! Would be great to see an added feature to also record the audio and to be able to activate more then one image at the same time.

I disagree that this app is "revolutionary". It's just an example of encoding & decoding the data using audio signals. It's just as a small step forward from Morse Code. The biggest let down of this app is the lack of support for all but the lowest resolution images (VGA or even below?); as such, it serves no truly useful purpose and offers little in terms of entertainment. It's just a demo of "it can be done like this". Transmission across devices will suffer quality loss unless you use direct output/input, but even then you're limited to the simplest of files. If you want to hide an image, hide it in another image using a steganographic app; If you want fun, play a game.

I just got this app and haven't even begun to tap into its full potential, I can already see a lot of great uses for this app. I think graphics gale, a great program for creating animated gifs will complement this perfectly.

this app is greater than the sum of its parts.

It seems to not have access to my microphone, because the receiver doesn't change no matter how loud any noise is. I have this problem with pixitracker as well, and I think Sunvox also has issues. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8" and android 4.2.2.

This is huge amounts of fun to just play with, and once I make a few cables it'll get some serious use with 3 phones and a tablet hooked up to a mixer. Can't wait to see what becomes of this app and its creative usws
