About SystemPanel App / Task Manager

**** THIS PRODUCT IS BEING REPLACED BY SYSTEMPANEL 2 ****

- Get SystemPanel 2 at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sp
- This version will continue to be available.

SystemPanel integrates a task manager, app manager (installer/uninstaller with multi-version APK archival), and system monitor.

Solve your battery life problem by enabling the background monitoring service to record long-term CPU usage by individual apps.

SystemPanel includes the following features:

Task Manager: The task manager shows what applications are currently loaded into memory and/or running on a device, including current CPU and memory utilization for each. The task manager provides the ability to kill offending applications, and includes an emergency "end all" widget to handle extreme scenarios.

System Monitor: The system monitor can be enabled to record device usage history over a period of time (up to one week), such that you can determine what applications and usage patterns have the greatest impact on battery life. This feature is commonly used to help track down which applications are having major negative effects on battery life. The system monitor records CPU usage for each process, overall CPU usage, display usage, battery level, and battery charging status.

Installer: The installer enables you to install and uninstall applications quickly and conveniently. It can archive multiple versions of applications, such that you can backup your apps before an update and revert back to older versions afterward. This is useful in the not uncommon event the updated item is buggy or otherwise undesirable. Additionally, the Installer is designed to work much more efficiently than the standard Android application manager, and does not suffer the frustrating lag issues found in the default Android item when browsing through a large number of installed apps.

Device Information: The device information screens show detailed information about your Android device, including storage, capabilities, network state, and OS build information.

-- Frequently Asked Questions --

Why does it require the ______ permission?
- SystemPanel does require a fair number of permissions in order to be able to perform all of its duties. This product DOES NOT send ANY information from your device over the Internet to ANYONE. It requires the "Internet access" and "telephony/read phone state" permissions only to monitor and display the device's network connectivity state. A full description of why each permission is required can be found in the SystemPanel FAQ on our web site.

Does SystemPanel consume battery?
- The only component of SystemPanel which runs in the background is the "System Monitor" feature. This feature must be enabled by the user (by default, SystemPanel runs nothing in the background). When enabled, the System Monitor feature will record data about which applications are consuming the battery every 15 minutes. All told, this feature will use approximately one minute of CPU / battery time per day of operation. When this feature is not enabled, SystemPanel will not run in the background in any capacity.

Does SystemPanel automatically kill tasks in the background?
- No, SystemPanel is not an automatic task killer. It has been well-established (by the Android documentation and direct communication with the Android engineers) that randomly or periodically terminating arbitrary tasks in the interest of saving memory will NOT yield a benefit in performance or battery life. The only benefit you will see from an automatic task killer is if it happens to terminate misbehaving apps. SystemPanel provides a better solution to this problem by showing you which apps are consuming CPU in the background (over time) with the "System Monitor" feature. It is then recommended that such applications be reconfigured or uninstalled (or perhaps corrected by filing a bug with the offending application's author).

This is horrible ..The app was amazing. Had always been great just enough animations and color with very useful features. BUT NOW THEY UPGRADE THE APP RENAMING TO SYSTEM PANEL 2...Adding a 2 didn't change the app it updated it..That's why we pay..to grow with the app..You should have changed the name and made a new app if you are charging again..that's my 3 star. I give credit to the dev. Not the business sense.

T70%
by T####:

I thought I was purchasing this app and would get system2 without the ads AND could use the new app, system2 without all the hacking of my device. NOT SO. YOU MUST ROOT OR GICE DEVELOPER ACCESS. I would like my money back.

T70%
by T####:

I've had this app since I owned a Motorola Droid with Android 2.0. It was excellent for tracking load and battery discharge then, and it still works great on my Note 4 with Android 6.0! Amazing. Totally worth the money.

Y70%
by Y####:

So is this app now no good following the latest android version? Can't close any apps at all now because of Google's stupid rules!!

L70%
by L####:

What did I just pay for? App does nothing now and was replaced by system panel 2... which is not this app... And has ads...

D70%
by D####:

Great app. use it mainly to clesr memory which android is a total failure at doing. Good sys info too

T70%
by T####:

I paid for this app and you abandone it for a revamped version , now am I supposed to pay twice . I think the whole thing is underhanded you should at least resolve this with the people who have already paid .

T70%
by T####:

Bate and Switch! Developers abandoned App, renamed it, and now expect that I am stupid enough to pay again. "This is Version 2 not Version 1,it's a completely new App, it actually works.

K70%
by K####:

Simple, clean, and worth paying for. Though it'd have been nice if they kept developing this instead of moving onto System Panel 2. If you're on Nougat or later, need root access to see the apps and processes.

T70%
by T####:

System app not working since an update on my Sony XZ, up until then it's been working fine it's a good app, please solve my issue! Thanks

Sinds my first Android HTC-G1????the best.

T70%

Great app. I've been using it for years

O70%

Nice one

T70%
by T####:

Edit: Paid for pro and regret. Will give 5 when I get app stats again or an honest refund. Or should I be a clown and accept that these changes are beyond your control? How about a licence for the new version for this useless app? Or is the new one equaly useless?

T70%
by T####:

Makes easy bckup & restore apps, saves old versions, which can be useful. I like the listing modes : by name or by size. I prefer to Titanium, which can be dangerous..... EDIT APRIL 2017: I don't update. I am on LPop, and the new update doesn't show me System processes. Back to former version, backed up with... System Panel ????

T70%
by T####:

More than one year without updates...you need to add new features to make this application again usefull like in the past. I like this application because of design, usability, tracking leaks. However this appl too old...

T70%
by T####:

Looks like the developer(s) abandoned this app as soon as Android made a sharp left.

H70%
by H####:

This was the go-to app for system resource management, but I guess the developers are out to lunch. No updates in over a year, no replies to Google Play reviews/ratings. Makes me wish I didn't pay for it if they have no intention on keeping up with the evolution of Android. Doesn't work well with android 5.1.1 and higher.

S70%
by S####:

Used to be great. Even if it did work now, I'm not sure it would provide anything that Android didn't provide natively these days. I'm guessing newer security settings in Android mean that this app can no longer see what's going on... Or it simply hasn't been updated to work with new versions. In any case, it's broken now. If there's a way to flag abandoned/broken apps, this one should get it.

C70%
by C####:

I love this app. First thing I installed and use it constantly. It stopped working after update to Android 7 Nougat. Please fix this as soon as you can, I miss it already! Thanks for a great product.

C70%
by C####:

This app is still the best laid out and we'll considered system monitoring app I have had. I've tried dozens since this one stopped keeping up with the android updates and NONE of them come close to this. Just a shame it's been abandoned.

C70%
by C####:

Needs more flexibility in the graph ranges and perhaps adjustment of the measuring interval. Some UI updates would be nice too including a white system tray icon. I have a Galaxy S5 and I use this app mainly to troubleshoot battery drain.

W70%
by W####:

01-30-2016: Can't see system apps. Can't monitor (high) cpu usage apps no more. User since 2011. Have 5.1 and latest version running on a OnePlus X, still shows nothing running other than system panel. 09-15-2016: Still no update to solve above mentioned issues. :o(

C70%
by C####:

Will give 5 when I get app stats again or an honest refund. Or should I be a clown and accept that these changes are beyond your control? I am actually a big fan of your apps and bought them unquestionably.

C70%
by C####:

Used to be great. Now only shows itself running, even though the "what's new" says it's fixed. But still not working on S6 (Verizon). Still has some working features though.

M70%
by M####:

Since the update, I don't see Service-Only Processes or Inactive (Cached) Apps, and all I see when selecting End All is All Apps and Active Apps. Choosing the former ends in an app crash.

C70%
by C####:

"Abandonware"??? No longer works on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 w/6.0.1. Crashes whenever you try yo close apps. Also stopped working on Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 after 5.1.1 update. Too bad as it's a great app but no longer usable. Last update per this site says August 2015. Seems like it's been abandoned (sigh)

since upgrading my note 4 to 5.1.1, the only thing listed in system panel is system panel itself. it doesn't show any other apps anymore. hmm?

X70%
by X####:

I think there is something wrong in my active applications or only shows system panel and no other apps when it used to and i know there is other applications running plz fix

K70%
by K####:

I've been using this since Eclair on my Nexus 1. Many times it has helped me identify battery drain problems. It's too bad that it's been abandoned.

C70%
by C####:

This feature is the best thing ever!!!! Now I can update my apps without fear of getting buggy updated apps :) thank you this devs!!!!The only thing little thing I dont like about this app is that the archive feature looks a little hidde in my opinion but still 5 stars because this app works perfectly :) EVERYONE SHOULD BUY THIS APP ASAP!!!!

C70%
by C####:

Simply beautiful, and uber nerdy! a must for power users. Would be nice if it could allow changing of startup apps. Thereby truly blocking some apps.

Y70%
by Y####:

Tells me the battery on my LG Stylo 2 plus is hot: 56552.0 degrees Fahrenheit. How can I believe anything else it tells me is accurate?

C70%
by C####:

Hasn't been updated in a while, doesn't work so well anymore. Also crashes when end tasks pressed on Android 6.

H70%
by H####:

Could really use a UI update to the new standards

X70%
by X####:

I'm a paid user. I wish it could have a finer resolution plot interval for CPU history of 30 minutes increment instead of just 2, 8 hours then 1 day. Having a finer interval will help to troubleshoot/spot power drain apps easier.

H70%
by H####:

I have been a long time user/customer, & just as many others have reported, am no longer able to get any of the information prior to Android v5.1.1, despite your fix/workaround. I'm also concerned that there hasn't been any recent news about this version, or the long awaited/anticipated v2.0 announced on your Google+ page. :(

A70%
by A####:

won't show any processes or running apps other than "system process" and system panel making monitoring useless and task killing impossible.

Y70%
by Y####:

In its day (3+ years ago) this was a very useful app. However, it is in desperate need of a significant update to compete its more modern competitors.
