-- Frequently Asked Questions --

Why does CPU #2 appear "grayed out" on my dual-core device?
- A grayed out second CPU indicator indicates the second core is asleep to save battery. This is generally a good thing, it will turn back on when needed.

Why does it require the ______ permission?
- SystemPanel does require a fair number of permissions in order to be able to perform all of its duties. This product DOES NOT send ANY information from your device over the Internet to ANYONE. It requires the "Internet access" and "telephony/read phone state" permissions only to monitor and display the device's network connectivity state. A full description of why each permission is required can be found in the SystemPanel FAQ on our web site.

Does SystemPanel Lite consume battery?
- SystemPanel Lite does not run in the background in any capacity. The full version includes an optional "monitoring service" which uses about one minute of CPU time per day to record the CPU usage of other applications (though it is disabled by default). This feature is not found in the Lite version though.

Does SystemPanel automatically kill tasks in the background?
- No, SystemPanel is not an automatic task killer. It has been well-established (by the Android documentation and direct communication with the Android engineers) that randomly or periodically terminating arbitrary tasks in the interest of saving memory will NOT yield a benefit in performance or battery life. The only benefit you will see from an automatic task killer is if it happens to terminate misbehaving apps. The full version of SystemPanel provides a better solution to this problem by showing you which apps are consuming CPU in the background (over time) with the "System Monitor" feature. It is then recommended that such applications be reconfigured or uninstalled (or perhaps corrected by filing a bug with the offending application's author).

A much more extensive FAQ is available on our web site.

Doesn't show Active Applications and how much CPU/Memory they are using. Includes a lot of device info though. Where do I find a good task killer app?

If you can live with old version, you will be happy. Most of us don't need so power gadgets or OS, apps. I use Ver 1.4.0 with kitkat so no issue over past 4yrs, very gd Apps using so little power. Every new Android OS & multi vendors new hardwares & firmware release is great compatibility issue, one size can't fit all unlike Apple iOS. This Apps show all process active or cache correctly, show cpu states & many details, and help killing task selectively, not blindly like most task killing apps draining more power due to restart & recache by Android OS design. Some Apps restart, even Opera mini do that now, many notorious china apps like wechat,..., most Google system apps like Play & Service, bloated wares Android System by phone vendor, ES File explorer...can't kill even force stop. Usually need rooted freeze, even Greenify freezing not completely effective....but many process are design not to drain battery excessively. It will be good if Systempanel can allow tracking of limited few Apps in free version for comparison. Free GSam battery monitor is very good apps to track comprehensively.

Needs a sort by a memory used, b CPU time used , c read & write to storage , d internet traffic etc & the apps that used the most of all these put in a red flagged box ready to stop or uninstall . A function to load at boot before all others apps to measure the system to find which app /s are slowing down the system. A user feed back on each app found using to many resources, & maybe even a send the app maker a detailed report off their apps behavior (without any users information)

I don't where you get the money from to make those apps, but they are super useful. Thanks!

used to be best of type by far for monitoring and NON-auto task killing. Good for a free app, but not fully functional with Marshmallow. Price, in relative market terms seems tad expensive for the full version, especially given that several functions don't work any more since Android 6.0, and despite claims to contrary, has not been updated for a year to cope with major changes within Android.

The app is not what I paid for and didn't get a chance to refund. Can we have a reply please? As to when app will be fixed for Android 7. If you have Android 7 don't buy this until developer fixes issues

every thing you wanted to know about your android but were afraid to ask so much info even the speed of your wifi it helps me max out my phone and lets me know what its up to one thing on multi core devices the cpu temp has an error im not sure i could hold my phone if its cores ran at 52952.1

I have used this for years. But it no longer works on an LG phone running Android 5.1. It only shows it's own process (seems useless). On my Samsung GS4 running Android 4.3 , it works perfectly. No updates in over a year. Google broke it but I don't see this guy updating his software anytime soon. Seems like abandonware. Sucks. B.M.

I used to love this app, now the only process it shows is it's own. With that being said, I had to quit using it. I think it has to do with the most recent android upgrade that's rolled out. I still have to give it 3 stars because even with the lost functionality, it's a great tool to monitor your processor activity as well as your battery and CPU temperature. But, I hope that a solution can be found because I'd love to start using this app again!

Trying to use it for few weeks and could not figure out how this app useful. So it's better to my app list leaner. Uninstalling.

It now only shows its own process! What happened to the others! Been using this app for many years. But not as useful now :(

X70%
by X####:

I had previous version (1.3.1) still working after lollipop upgrade. And now, I installed this update to have that major regression : no more visibility of system processes, or services. If it's because of Android modifications, how could previous version of app still get this information ?

X70%
by X####:

Just like the PS and top Unix utils. Now to 3 stars coz it no longer lists all apps/ processes under MIUI 7.0.6/Android 5.0

X70%
by X####:

Doesn't show system processes. Either lollipop or marshmallow, makes no difference. Uninstalled

X70%
