File Explorer (Plus Add-On) for Android
I would be grateful if FX would allow you to back up apps without having to go through a dozen steps, including renaming every copied app from "base.apk." Its main competitor completely nailed fast backups of multiple apps in one tap. I guess I'll risk adware for a second.
Bought the plus version to use all app capabilities. But when you move a file within the same location (eg on sd card only changing subfolder) it behaves like copying. It should be instant, never seen a file manager doing that while cut/paste. Please check and fix
i've used this app for years (one of few i actually bought) but, since the last update, it corrupts files transferred over a windows network. i've been using a crappy ad infested app in its place. please fix. i need this functionality working again :(
Extremely secure. I've tried them all. I use a firewall. This file explorer is the one of the few that doesn't randomly surf the net. When I linked Dropbox, it only went to 162 IP address. No AmazonAWS. No Cloudfront. You'll be hard pressed to find this type of integrity even with so-called anti viruses. It's very intuitive & unconvoluted. There are so many specific reasons that make FX the superior explorer. Thank you!
Okay I don't actually give it one star. I just need the developer attention. Can you please explain why FX is doing a write operation when moving files from one folder to another on the same drive. Shouldn't it just update the file table? Seems to be very bad for the life of SD CARDS. For example, I'm moving /music/album to /music/artist/album. Should be almost instantly complete, but the operation is clearly taking the time to rewrite the entire file.
Bought this just to support the devs. Used to use ES before and now is total garbage. After reading some reviews online I came to FX and it seems perfect and none of the ads. Thank you
Still worth the money, but all this is missing is an FTP server feature.. too easy and also the following.. ❎ Text Viewer needs to support "text selection". ☑️ This is the smoothest WiFi file sharing feature I've ever seen.. I just connect them to the same wireless network.. Then tap them together and boom!
It semi works. Good interface. The reason I brought this APP was to transfer files from Galaxy Tab to PC. However, the SMB connection does not find computers on a Wi-Fi network. When you click "browse" the "No Windows network hosts were found" message appears and does not find any computers on the network. I don't have a problem with ES Explorer, however I am trying to move away from that App due to the Ads. Please fix and perhaps have a one week trial period before purchase since the Network feature is only bundled in with File Explorer (Plus Add-On) which you have to purchase before you try.
Brilliant file manager, LAN copying, image viewing etc. So many poor file managers in the store which promise features that simply don't work. This one lets you try out the pro settings and so far, everything I've tried has worked brilliantly. Highly recommended! Oh, also text editor! (Again, another task with many poor apps)
Loved this app for the longest time, now the network browser seems to be broken. Supposedly, I can see my smb shares but I get a network error on any share, so this add on is pretty worthless.
5.5 Stars! Clean, beautiful, intuitive yet jam packed with features. Great UI, cloud & WebDav support, a well implemented media library etc. Give me a native media player for Chromecast and a Recycle Bin (handy once in a while), and I'll upgrade my review to 6 ???? ????!
Perfect (as an adon) doesn't tJe up space MUCH better than es app give full and better control and access to sharing file to connecting to the cloud. A perfect app out there. (Should be the default file explorer in Android)
Didn't even need it, bought it just to show gratitude for making great add free app. Keep it up.
The web access feature is just not what it intended to be, hard to use, Not polished web interface and laggy compared to the Airdroid. It definitely need to change. I'm looking forward to these issues to be addressed in the coming updates. Anyway great work overall, keep going
This works as well or better than ES, and doesn't send my data to China (where it's used to make second-rate chow mein). Assuming it stays like this, and they don't sell out to Megalocorp, I have a new file manager. ES can nuzzle my fuzzy beanbag and blow me. Hey guys, I got your lock screen ads right here. (boy will they be surprised when they realize I'm not holding lock screen ads at all , but instead, I'm holding my penis)
Since Microsoft released KB3140768 and broke SMB, will you be issuing a update to address the issue of some sort. I LOVE the app just sadden that we cant login via smb currently without having to make a a second account or turning off security. Keep up the great work.
This is aware. You have to pay to have advertising on the file manager. I am uninstalling this crap I just paid for.
Okay I don't actually give it one star. I just need the developer attention. Can you please explain why FX is doing a write operation when moving files from one folder to another on the same drive. Best all around file explorer on Android. Love to manage my network and cloud storages in the same way I handle local files. Only thing missing: Add pCloud cloud storage capability!
I like the explorer itself very much, but my most used feature, sftp, lacks the critical functionality of resuming a started download. FX will instead start a new download with a renamed file.
Hi please can you try improving the rar extraction, it takes a lot of time compare to other file managers, hope you can do it!
I am so grateful this app exists, and to be able to use the free version without any ads or nag windows is a huge plus. So much so that I paid for the full version, even though I may not even use the extended features.
I want to transfer a file from one device to another without using wifi and simply tethering one device to the other. This works with other file managers such as es file explorer, but fx cannot enable wifi direct on the device acting as the Hotspot
❎ Text Viewer needs to support "text selection". ☑️ This is the smoothest WiFi file sharing feature I've ever seen.. I just connect them to the same wireless network.. Then tap them together and boom!
Paid to support the developers for their awesome work. Just one more thing I would like if added. Please add support for MEGA (if possible)
FX is by far my favorite file browser, and I use it numerous times a day. I bought this just for the dropbox integration, and it's seamless. It's how the official dropbox app SHOULD have been.
Moving files to and from cloud services, local NAS and my android devices has never been easier than with this file manager. Fast, reliable and efficient.
Simple, clean, no gimmicks, no garbage, no ads, application is well designed and actual effort was put into it. If you use fx free you need to support the dev.
The best file explorer on Google Play. No one comes even close. Period. I wish I could drag and drop too. Maybe this is already planned. Thank you for a great app.
Latest version COMPLETELY screwed up the app and no fix or response from the developer in weeks. After paying for this app I feel completely screwed over!
I evaluated several file managers and I concluded this one worked best of all. The UX is clean, efficient, flexible, and informative. Very few taps are needed to change viewing modes or carry out folder/file operations. I particularly like the ability to split the screen into two panes with a gesture. The storage "Usage" view is very well conceived. Exchanging files with PCs and other devices is a breeze. The author is actively enhancing FX and there's a Beta program. No ads.
Copy job to external USB storage failed during process and wiped all existing data residing on external storage. Not good. The base app also keeps uninstalling upon device reboot. What gives?
I have replaced multiple cloud based apps and various other bits of software with this, including Quickpic and VLC. I love that it's pretty much an all in one solution if you want it to be and is pretty versatile with settings.
Still like this app with characteristics theme and colours, simple design. Even with the same feature for free, this is my android home.
It's a very well designed app. UI is best. Some features missing ! May be. Paid for Pro. From me five stars. Edited : Would like to see cloud storage summary without going into details/calculate usage..!!
Keeps asking if it's okay to ignore the cert issue repeatedly and never logs in. Dev said they'll fix it soon. So I bought this. It's been a few months and no fixes yet. Doesn't look like any development is going on.
Very attractive interface....easily navigable, and most pleasant, even for us clinically OCD software junkies....
Great Explorer. The only issue I have is that it does not work with computer names for SMB and needs their IP address.
I use this to sync files from my cloud accounts and even personal servers. One feature request though... When downloading multiple directories, if a directory exists already the entire transfer fails. Could you provide an option to skip or overwrite? Otherwise amazing work!

Been using the free version plus root addon for a little while since i noticed the way ES was going with every update. Been very impressed, enough to purchase the full app. I really like the UI guys, it's clean so please don't change it.. and don't get tempted by the dark side Devs.
