On Google TV, there was a way to launch a specific app when the device booted. By default the device would display the TV stream, making the OS feel more like an overlay on top of your television than something completely isolated.
Android TV will simply just display the launcher on a reboot, a small distraction for users expecting to see TV and annoying for individuals using Android TV as a dumb kiosk displaying a single video or stream.

Tried this on a Shield TV. I wish the wake feature could work without a screensaver. Also, when I enable the Launch on Boot option (2nd) it takes away my option to choose which app and only allows for the Live channels app to be launched when the device is booted. Wanted to use it with Playstation Vue.

I have waited installing this before since it didn't work when waking up as I really never turn my shield TV all the way off. Now that it works on waking up and restarts I am happy to say it is installed and working fantastically period thank you for the great app!

Downloaded for Nvidia Shield TV. Works as advertised but will not work when Shield wakes from sleep. Dev is researching a fix. 5 stars when usable.

I am using this app for android television, its working fine but problem is when i turn off device and start again first it shows television launcher and then it loads. i need it to launch immediately after boot. And one more why the option disabled "launch tv app on boot" on android television.

Very useful app, can I add a suggestion though would it be possible to launch an app if you wake up your Shield TV from sleep as opposed to booting it, would love to see a feature like it to be incorporated in to this app, a good example is I like to play PSP games on PPSSPP it's the first thing I do when I wake the Shield TV from sleep, I would love PPSSPP to launch whenever I wake up the Shield from "sleep" as I hardly ever boot the Shield, if it's possible that is, other than that, awesome app (all of your app are awesome)

Tried this with an Nvidia Shield TV. It works when I restart but not if I just put the device to sleep and then wake it back up, which in kinda the whole point since the shield tv only goes to sleep and does not "turn off," so this just didn't work for me. Not sure if I needed to set it up differently. It does wake from the screensaver to the selected app but not from the shields "sleep" mode. The app does exactly what it says it does, it just doesn't work for my application with the Nvidia Shield TV. If you're using a shield and you put it into sleep mode all the time, this probably won't fit your need.
