About Volume Control

Volume Control is an amazing app that lets you take control of your device’s volume – instead of being controlled by it!

HOW IT WORKS
Volume Control is extremely easy to use. Simply tweak existing or create new pre-defined volume profiles, and toggle between them with just a single touch. Individual profiles are comprised of: Alarm, Media, Ringer, Notification, Voice (in-call), Bluetooth and overall system volume.

AUTOMATED CONVENIENCE
Volume Control also detects when you insert headphones or activate Bluetooth, and automatically toggles to your preferred volume profile. You can even create automatic scheduled presets based on time of day, physical location, or a calendar event.
For example, if you plan heading into a business meeting, simply tell the app to turn off your ringer at precisely that time. Of if you're heading for a workout, tell the app to pump up the volume when you arrive at the fitness club. The list of possibilities is virtually limitless!

ADDITIONAL SPECIAL FEATURES
Here are some of the other special features you can look forward to:
- Custom volume settings and ringtones for VIP contacts
- The option of separating or linking ringer volume and notification volume
- The ability to change ringtones for alarm, ringer and notifications
- Notification shortcuts for quick and easy access to controls and presets
- Integration with Tasker and Locale via the built-in preset plugin

INTERACTIVE WIDGETS
You can also access a fantastic suite of fully interactive Home Screen widgets, including:
- Preset (apply a set of audio settings);
- Preset List (apply any preset)
- Volume Locker (change/lock volume levels)
- Vibrate (toggle vibrate settings for ringer and notification)
- Ringer (toggle the ringer mode between silent, vibrate, and normal)
- Dashboard (various interactive volume controls)
Please note: to access the widgets, the app should not be installed to your SD card. Some Android versions may require a reboot for widgets to appear on your widget drawer.

AVOID ACCIDENTAL CHANGES
You’ll also love the cool “Pocket Locker” feature, which automatically prevents accidental volume changes by locking volume settings when your device screen turns off.

I needed an "adjust and LOCK" the volume buttons on the side of my phone because I have, far more than once, accidentally lowered it all the way to "MUTE" and thus couldn't hear an incoming call. Auto vibrate only saved my butt a couple times. This app keeps me from that accidental volume button change. Love it.

This is the only solution I've found for handling the "low volume" warning on Android (in my case, on a z3c). I have it set to lock the media volume at max when I connect bluetooth audio equipment with a separate volume control. I just noticed today that the lock overrides the built-in volume warning. (The volume warning is on the screen, and you have to dismiss it, but it doesn't affect the actual volume output.) I've been looking for more than a year for something like this. Excellent work! Only gripe: the built-in bluetooth trigger is kind of buggy. (It never connects right.) But the Tasker integration is perfect, so I just use Tasker + Trigger to automatically apply my bluetooth audio profile when I connect my speaker. So, it doesn't really matter.

I've used the "separate ringer and notifiaction" feature and it works well but I faced following issue. I have set following sound level configuration Notifications : 28℅ System : 28% In-call : 100% But after I receive a call, my notification and system sound level becomes 100℅ automatically. I mailed the support with this defect and they replied with not reproducible... Who does that...

My Galaxy S7 active and the warranty phone that I received had a mind of Their Own when it came to the system volume. They would turn the system volume off every night, every time I rebooted the phone and at odd times during the day. This app solve the problem. Now my system volume stays on. However, I am having a little problem figuring out what hours the app considers to be "night".

Having extremely loud apps spontaneously ring in your ear when wearing mp3's is one of the worst things ever, this app helps prevent that, when used right

G70%

I turned on the "separate ringer and notification" and it's not working for me, when I adjust the ringer volume the notification volume changes with it. Can you make it so we can adjust the volumes in smaller increments (like 80%, 81%, 82%, etc right now it jumps from 85% to 100%)? One more thing, can you make a play button for each volume so we can hear how loud the sound is after adjusting?

S70%
by S####:

Although when u check the box to separate the ringtone and notification and set each for a different volume level, it DOES NOT set each at a different volume level.....even when it shows it does. Don't know if it's the OS or the app, but it doesn't work.

S70%
by S####:

The crashing is instantly after pressing the preset setting. It has now existed for several months and I can no longer change the settings.

D70%
by D####:

It's a shame that more devices and OSes don't support this natively. But it works most of the time. However, occasionally the separate ringer and notification resets, even when enabled in settings. Not sure what causes it. Doesn't seem to be the volume rocker. Using a OnePlus 3.

W70%

Would be really nice if you can set a timer for the "ringer volume is locked" notification. So that is disappears after let's say 10 seconds

This app sends my information to other servers around the country so that it can then be stored and sold to ad companies for money. Why does it need to know my calender schedule, id, location, camera, photos, etc.

S70%
by S####:

A new update caused volume control to crash everytime a new preset was applied. Pretty broken since then.

My Droid Turbo did a system update. When it was done my ring volume and notification volume were linked. I tried everything to get it back to being separate. Nothing worked. This app was recommended by several different websites so I thought I'd give it a try. So glad I did. I like my notification volume lower than the ring volume and that's what I have with this app. Extremely easy to use.

U70%
by U####:

Seems effective for manually changing volumes. The time schedule is only available on the paid app, there's not even a trial version to check it works with your phone, which is necessary as I've found that only works with some phones.

S70%
by S####:

WELL DONE! (it's not hype, it is a pretty amazing app!) The only reason I wanted this app was to control my ringer and notification volumes independently. I just got a Moto Z Play Droid and discovered like many others the new dumb design of linked ringer and notification volumes- I want loud ringer and very low text msg volume. There are maybe 3? apps I've found that do this, but none which also include a sensible interface that makes it easy to use this as a widget to bypass the hard volume buttons. I don't want to put yet another app on my phone to do that. So, after a 1 day testing period, I have confirmed that I get loud rings and quiet texts, and I look forward to buying the paid version as soon as the trial times out.
