Informant for Android
Only the Calendar is available in Demo. I wanted to see the Contacts and Tasks integration. I used the PI for years with Palm and then with the Windowsbased PDA and liked it a lot. Now, I don't know if the software is worth it for Android. Don't even show what the hidden functions look like in the screen shots. Guess I will just wait and see.
Was looking for an app that mirrored the manual day planners I was used to. Someone suggested this on a feed I read so I tried it. Only glitches of reminding me@wrong date/ time or duplicate syncing with other calendars I can't remove from my phone are most likely human error because it happens so infrequently&randomly.
Unbeatable calendar app integrated with to do list which can have attachment of photos. If they can offer attach files (pdf, doc, text, ppt and xls) + voice is prefect. NO current apps better than this. NO. 1
I wish they would make the graphical interface prettier.... That really needs an update. Having said that though, it's an indespensible tool, works well with all the other services I want it to (Toodledo and Evernote), & is one of the first apps I bought when in switched back from iOS.
I have used this on and off over the years (mostly off!) but I installed this just on a whim and found that I now like it very much. I found it unusable in the past but all the problems I had with it seem to have disappeared. I don't think it was me being thick either. Now I use this alone for organising my days and tasks.
I just switched from the iPhone and was using the informant app and it was amazing. Now I'm on the note 5 and this is not the same app. They clearly spend more time developing the iPhone version and just throw something together for android. It's unfortunate cause I loved the app on iPhone but I can't use this version it's cluttered and navigation is impossible. Now I have to find something else.
I was pushed into this by my IPhone-using acquaintance. It seems to do the job, and better than previous or pre-installed apps. Switching between tasks and calendar is intuitive. Lots of options if a rather ugly interface. Very functional.
In my business I have over 500 contacts plus personal contacts. The only time I have a problem is when the battery runs down. That is clearly my fault.....no one else I can blame, but I still looking. From appointments connected to contacts (or not connected like the dentist) to my agenda sometimes looking out to a year or more (trade shows are scheduled 5 years out) it really is my portable office.
Abandoned... Thought I found a good planner. Works ok, however as others mentioned is dated. There has been no updates or maintenance releases for over several months, of course right after I purchased it. Had I known then they abandoned the software I would have purchased something else. Move on from this app and find something else; especially with continued support.
Solid integrated calendar app. Been using this for years. It's too bad this has been deprecated in favor of the companies iOS line. Hopefully they will come back to the Android platform with an updated interface and feature set.
Finally one that offers continual smooth vertical scroll so you can PROPERLY PLAN! Only problem: 1) Constant nag 2) WAY overpriced. Reduced to one star for stingy CONTINUAL nag every few minutes!!!! Very unprofessional
While this scheduling / calendar app has some attractive features, I noticed that it treats android users with indifference that borders on outright disrespect. Apple upgrades are celebrated earlier by weeks over the dominant android system. I regret upgrading and caution any Android user to find a friendlier app.
This is the first app I add to any device. These guys just do it right. If you really use you calendar and tasks to stay organized in all you do, this app is just great. They also pay attention to customer feedback. 100% worth the price
Have found the earlier versions of PI to be better in some respects, Iwould like to see some of the functions from the old versions of PI bought into the new one's eg, able to add strike through in completed tasks, the ability to add different colour's to to tasks eg an overdue task or appointment can have a colour, or a pending or incomplete task can have a different colour, the monthly calendar widget on the month view just shows the month name but no year next to it. No hyperlink attachment, not impress
They've abandoned Android users. An app even better is Calengoo. It has the contact linking to events and tasks like informant did plus whole lot more. Try it, I think you'll like it.
I used this app back in my Palm O/S days. Having tried most of the other calendar/PIM apps, none really held up to kind of capability I wanted. When I saw this app, I snatched it up immediately! The power and capability fits my needs perfectly
I used their stuff for years. Over the last year or two they seem to have put almost all their focus on iPhone and less and less on Android. Send all their emails are more about iphone versions even though I have only bought android from them. I moved to business calendar and won't be back.
This was a good app used for many years but now dead as no updates for over 1 year. Developer appears only to be updating IOS version and given Android the flick.
Used a really old version on my Motorola Q. Love this app on my Nexus 5. When I switch to iOS next year, hope it runs just as well over there. Updated 10/31/16 - Developer notes that no additional updates nor fixes forthcoming until Android 7 version. Android 6 users abandoned. Add'l bug: Permit WhatsApp to access your contacts (which is req'd in order to use the app) now displays WhatsApps contacts in Informant (as well as your Informant/Google contacts). Which contact version to edit? Who knows? Who cares?
Horrid design and UI. All the love goes into IOS. This android port is just an afterthought and the devs show it, especially after the most recent play store fiasco. Started using aCalendar+ and have been loving it. I'm thinking of deleting this app and never looking back. ACalendar+ has been a joy so look into that as a cheaper, better, alternative.
I periodically check out other calendar apps but always come back to Informant. Overall it has the best mix of features. Just wish they would get a PC desktop version to sync to.
Core app is reliable & feature rich, multiple sync options. I primarily use it for tasks; task synchronization works reliably but A1,A2 priorities require a subscription to the informant sync service and a Gsyncit license to sync with MS Outlook. Even so the a1, a2 bit is not elegantly handled - the priority gets combined with the task subject on the outlook side, which I find a pain to deal with. The display widget is very nice, once I figured out how to shrink the font down enough.
I have been using the original Pocket Informant for years and LOVED IT! Since the last Galaxy update, it is no longer compatible. I thought this app would be similar and it is, but it doesn't have to be complicated. I loved how easy and simple Pocket Informant was! Shouldn't have to press 10 different things to copy and paste an event to a new date :( I would happily pay the $10 for an updated/compatible version of the original, simpler Informant. (I have even tried using other apps because I do not like this one...)
I bought the Informant Premium and the Weather. The weather hasn't shown up on the calender even though I downloaded Weather Underground and went into informant settings. Won't sync up my devices and Informant Premium appears only on the device I purchased it on. It doesnt recognize my account name or password, either! The bits of it that do work look beautiful and make you want to use it.
Dead application. Over a year ago the developer advised of a new version, promising wonderful things. The last update to this app was over 16 months ago and it didn't include anything promised. The developer, however, continues to update and publicize the IOS version. I believe it is safe to assume this application is no longer included in the developer's plan for growth. I'd look elsewhere rather than board a sinking ship.
I started using this App back in the days of PDA's. It has everything you'll need to manage your personal life & your business obligations at the same time. You'll be so well organized you won't miss anything, you don't want to. For Everything else, there's the dismiss button. The last thing's I'm going to comment on is the App's Speed, Accuracy, ease of use and friendly GUI. This App has always worked excellence on any operating system I've used. This App is the BEST, ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES & download it.
This app has not been updated since 11/15. But they have given LOTS of attention to Apple. I asked the developer about Android. Basically they said "we've done iOS, next is macOS. An Android update is overdue but won't be coming right away, we've not forgotten the application its just been delayed." Pocket Informant is a good app. But on the back burner for Android development. :-(. isoTimer is a good alternative.
The app logic is basically good. You can tell they've been at this a long time. It's the best calendar app I've seen of late. The color scheme, however is way overboard. The intensity makes it nearly impossible to focus, and I've not been able to view the paid options so to see if I can tone it down a LOT. It's missing a few things: today button, collapsed day timed view, box week view, easy change one of a recurring appointment (probably android's fault), desktop app, USB sync, font control.
Love the program, I used it before with Apple and now using it again with Android. The features keep me on track.
I give up! I've used this app for years and loved it. I've never found a better app. Lately I've created tasks and they don't show up. Can't depend on an unreliable app. I love the many icons and keeping everything in one place but not if I can't depend on it to be reliable. I'll miss you pocket informant, you've been there to guide and direct me for many years.
Best, most versatile and customizable calendar. Franklin Covey task management. Great.
This is the only organization app that allows me to customize to my heart's content - from flexible categories of tasks and events right down to the color of every single element. I can make it as beautiful as I want and am not stuck with the garish primary colors that programmers have decided we all should like. If only the would make a syncing version FOR WINDOWS, life would be perfect.
I rely on Informant as my calendar and personal organizer. It is the best app I have found to keep track of appointments, tasks, and so much more. I'd be lost without Informant. Highly recommended.
Used to love it, now it just wants upgrade purchases. It is still slower than others calendar apps and it drains my battery. I do love all the features so I continually try the app but always fall back to Google Calendar. Jan 2016 update, using a droid Maxx now and Informant is still a bit sluggish. I am sticking with it because it has a bunch of features, all in one place. Other calendar apps and task list/managers may be quicker but not as versatile.
I've used Informant for many years and have never found another app as complete and comprehensive.
LOVE IT!! - THE ONLY ORGANIZER THAT WILL USE FRANKLIN-COVEY ALPHA-NUMERIC PRIORITY SYSTEM
I've used Informant for years, started using it on my PDA and continued using it into the smartphone years. Love it!
The most feature rich task manager I have used that can be synced with Exchange via gsyncit
Not free! It costs $9.99 if you want any worthwhile features.

I've had this app since I switched to an Apple iPhone in 2010. I went from a blackberry to an iPhone and realized very quickly how inefficient their calendar was. I have used this app since then. Even now, with an android phone, Google is no comparison to this calendar. It has everything from color coding to recurring tasks. Best calendar and I am happy to pay for it.
