FluidSynth MIDI Synthesizer for Android
Doesn't work as a midi device
Not much to say. "Best App Ever"
It connects a midi key board app to my PC music creator software, which is what I was looking for.
Just got a Casio PX-760, which only includes a handful of built-in instruments. This app was a simple way to test the MIDI interface and play with a bunch of different sounds. I finally found something nifty to do with my USB OTG adapter.
My digital grand piano isn't getting detected. It's a Yamaha clavinova by the way
It doesnt work after downloading the soundfont it keeps warning there is no soundfont. How trigger sounds? Only midi cable? No screen keyboard?
Very simple and to the point, and it works. Load up a soundfont and play with low latency using the excellent FluidSynth engine. Beautifully native Material design, free and without ads. I could wish for just a tad more features, such as quicker instruments/soundfont switching and perhaps some save/restore functionality for channel setups, but it's still easily five stars in its current bare bones state. Recommend.
I like the simple Material design and the fact that it does what it's supposed to quite well. I'm annoyed by the screen rotation locking which insists on portrait mode (useless on a big tablet with front-facing stereo speakers); it would be much better to leave screen orientation up to me and Android, or at least default to landscape. Also the instruments dropdown appears to be hardcoded for General MIDI and misleading for other soundfonts, also apparent in Channel 10 being hardwired for drums.
Works very well. Provides a General MIDI synth that can be used with a USB keyboard. Also other apps can send it MIDI commands through the new MIDI API in Marshmallow. So you can use this synth with lots of other apps. Android needed this app!

Turns my phone into a midi synth for my PC. Doesn't seem to support Yamaha XG commands or I'd give 5 stars. Love it!
