About Magic Home Inventory

This is a home inventory application.
It helps you maintain a list of stuff you have, with an efficient interface and easy navigation. The inventory structure is based on real life. There are 3 types of belongings: properties have rooms (or areas) and items located within. Container items, like boxes, can contain any other items. You can create lists of items, just like you could on a piece of paper. See Structure section in Help for more details.

Features:
 • Infinite hierarchy: Property ▶ Room ▶ Item ▶ Item ▶ …
 • Categories: 15 diverse categories with 300+ well-defined finer categories
 • Categorization aid based on 2,500+ hand-selected keywords
 • Custom camera to help selecting the item on the picture
 • Move selection of items into any container
 • Advanced search to easily find anything in moments
 • Sunburst chart to see a visual overview of your stuff
 • Import/Export to manually backup or transfer your inventory

When is it useful?
 • You have a remote storage and you don't remember exactly what's there.
 • You're moving, to remember which box contains what.
 • You're tidy and organized and want to know where your stuff belongs.
 • You want to inventory valuable items for insurance purposes.
 • You're not at home, but your family member/flatmate wants something.
 • You want to declutter, you can create a list of stuff you want to throw away.
 • You're transitioning to a minimalist lifestyle and want to share your redundant stuff up for grabs.
 • You're curious how many pens you have lying around the house.

If you're stuck take a look at the Help inside the app.
If you have any question or comment feel free to send a feedback email, I'll answer them.
Please send the error reports if they pop up. The app doesn't have Internet permission, so it can't send automatic crash reports.

This app is absolutely amazing! It's the most easy to use and most useful app for inventory management I have ever used. I'm going crazy right now taking inventory of my possessions. To the creator(s) of this app I say "Well done"!!!

Bad app. Doesn't backup everything on google drive. Only 10% of my backed up data got restored. Rest all is lost

Great app to keep track of home or simple inventory, would be nice if can export to Google sheet. Also, after you figured out the storage issue, maybe an option to use SD card as default storage would be awesome for memory limited phones! :) One more thing, can you please move the camera control to the side for landscape photo? Would be easier for one hand operation. Thanks!!!

Help - I tried to export to email from the backup but it keeps saying 'backup cancelled'. Thanks! The file came through to my email later, works perfectly! My suggested improvements would a field associated to each item for original cost and for replacement cost (so as to be able to estimate how much contents insurance is required). Thanks! ** Next question- how do you delete backups? Thanks!

Does exactly what I was looking for. My only complaint is I'd like to take multiple photos of items instead of just one. Great way to keep track of where everything is when you move. So rare to find an app that does what you expect. This is one of those rarities.

Got this app to create book catalogue. I am loving it a lot!!! It is so much fun and is versatile. The only thing is - you don't have a book shelf anywhere. And your book definition is funny - stuff that you don't need but have anyways. Some might need an extensive library for work or hobby or whatever. I had to add a property named Books, added rooms named by book cathegories. Classified rooms like platforms because the question mark is annoying. Developers: Add book shelf please. Also may want to add Books to the property types. This app can be used offline and needs very few permissions.

Great app, works like a charm and I like the export option. Could use a better icon and name though. You could try fiverr for logos. They are not free, but pretty cheap. You can find icons in the category web design. They will be custom-made for your app.

Bottom line: free and does what it does very well. Some improvements would make it 5 star. Pros: - Totally free and no ads. - Interface smooth, fast. - Visually clean and focused - Export exists and is in multiple formats including hierarchical structures for inclusion of images (XML and JPEGs), HTML (possibly useful for desktop usage), and CSV for simple table database view. - Photos are easy to take - Suggestions for item categories is actually accurate and useful, surprisingly. - Separate lists categories - Unlimited hierarchy of groups Cons: - Lack of automatic unique identifier. E.g. if I have 10 pens you have to manually name them "pen 1", "pen 2" etc. instead of just naming it "pen" and having it make a new unique key in the database. - No count attribute for items - You have to export to the phones file system, I would have liked it to export directly to Dropbox or email it or something. - Home -> Room hierarchy at the top. Being forced to set the hierarchy in this way seems unnecessary. Unlimited nested categories below that though. - Limited metadata - I would like something where you can at least add your own custom fields to each item.

Looking into this as a warehouse inventory app. At this warehouse, Barcodes are not used. However, I'm having trouble adding more locations. So far I have Businessname>building>building's area. But I can't seem to make lower containers such the area's aisle, rack section, shelf # etc. Is there a way to nest the rooms or add new lower layers?

I've been trying to find an inventory app for some time and this nails the basic premise so compressively I'm bowled over and will continue to use this I am sure. Therefore, sincerely, thank you! Only niggles are the brown, urgh(!) and the need to be able to log monetary values.

I was looking for an app to help me keep track of a very large toy collection and came across this one. This is a nice app but too cumbersome to use for collectors. It would take me too long to catalog everything if I can't use multiple images for one item instead of adding an item within an item where I have to always scroll for a category when am already working within one. When the time comes to move out of my house, this app will get used. My search continues for a more specialized collecting app.

I've boxed over 120 items so far with this app. And now I can search for them digitally if I need them. I have pictures and text descriptions of everything. This app is a game changer. The UI is fantastic as well. The developer responded to me incredibly quick and was very helpful.

I got sooooo much stuff that I sometimes can't find things when I need them. With this app I am able to quickly and easily catalog all my item's locations with descriptions and pictures. Everything gets instantly indexed for easy visual retrieval. It works fast and is fun to use. I applaud the developer for making such a great app! Bravo!!

This app is amazing, especially considering that it is free. I love the detail in which I can organize my home inventory. For example, I'm able to specify that my auxiliary cable is in a plastic bag, in a plastic bin, in my closet, in my bedroom, in my apartment. Each one of those variables has its own section within the app because I customized it that way. So if I wanted to add more items to that little plastic bag, I could do that. It's a really fantastic app. Thank you, developer!

After usingnit for 2 months. I love this app. It allows me to decide the level of detail that i want to document each item or group of items. The picture-feature is great. The List-feature and general-search-feature are helpful. The backup feature is easy to use for me, and the files within are easy enough for me to navigate as well, which always add to comfort. I do have few suggestions to make. I will send them via the feedback button in the app.

This is literally the most useful app I've downloaded in my life. I've used a few different apps over the years to try keep track of my belongings, and thought I'd give another app a go. My search is over - this app is the winner by far, truly perfect! Well done to the developer (who, judging by the comments, seems like a really nice person). Keep up the amazing work!!!

This allows you to say that u have something but doesn't allow you to say how much of that thing u have. Kinda makes inventoring hard.

Great app for home use. Amazing attention to detail. Sensible backup format is highly appreciated. Ideally I'd like to provide RW access to people who share the ownership of physical objects with me, but it would be a whole new level of complexity, beyond the scope of the app.

Magnificent app, that really helps in organizing oneself, I believe it can be widely used if can add two more functions. First ability to add categories or at least amend the existing according to one's need, thus will widely extend the use of the app to commercial use, foe example I would like to use it to control my far away warehouse that includes many and different commercial items, or even to control the all office documents files. Second the search function should also search in the description fields and not only in the name field. I hope to find these amendment soon, and expect good future for this app. Good luck.

Great app. I love to see someone with an idea put it to use. As a fellow entrepreneur, I wish you much success! If you want to make a business version for people who sell items from home I think this would be easy to convert and compete eell with what is currently out there. If you could make the categories and location assignable by the user and perhaps add a sku generator you might be able to have two great products off one concept especially if it can be exported and imported . A++ Id be happy to demo anything for you.

I love this app! I'm prepping for an international move, and I have to do household inventory in addition to storage and other shipments. It's so simple (I do think it would be cool to add multiple pix at once but I know how to add the others in after item creation). For a free app, this is above my expectations and very well thought out! thank you to the creator! !!!! Edit: when you add a new item, it automatically goes to alphabetical order, so when you submit it, you have to scroll to find the item to add more images under it. Maybe When you open a room &/or item, the last couple items you added could be at the top vs having to hunt for it? Or maybe have an few filter sections in the corner: last edited to first edited, alphabetical, maybe by category ? That way when you are done editing you can change it back to which ever you'd like Or maybe have it ask if you want to take more pictures after you save the image you want:)

The developer replied immediately to my request for additional functionality. He gave me clear instructions and the app works flawlessly for my needs. Thank you so much, Róbert!

Without a data import/export function or the ability to otherwise access and manipulate the inventory outside the app this is severely limiting. It is very cumbersome to have to enter all details about an item on a smart phone or tablet. Other similar apps can decode this info from a taken photo etc. and allow CSV import/export.

Useful app. Made taking an inventory of a rental house quick and painless. Good job, dev! Thanks. Feature suggestion: it would be helpful to be able to link an image of a purchase receipt (or an invoice) to an inventory item.

It takes quite a while to put everything into it but I can find anything I need, I know what is going where, and it's really handy. So useful when I'm decluttering stuff
