Pushover for Android
It really is like that, I use it in home automation, monitoring applications, web applications, bash on Linux and python software. Never missed a beat, used others in the past, shame they were not this good. Just upgraded to a desktop license now as well as I keep finding more uses, keep up the good work.
Pushover has a great API, and is very useful for server administration and monitoring. I direct a huge number of status emails to Pushover instead of my inbox, which keeps my email a lot cleaner. Additionally, I find out immediately about high priority notifications rather than when I check my email.
Use it to for monitoring alerts, allows me to turn email notifications off so I can sleep and pushover will alarm me when disasters happen. It's awesome.
Fantastic uptime, constantly adding new features, native integration for seemingly everything I use, I've gotten so much value out of this product sometimes I feel like I ripped somebody off!
Simple but very flexible app for rolling your own push notifications to your devices, if you are a developer. I was up and running in ten minutes. Awesome stuff!
So far so good still in trial but I did purchase license so I guess I'm impressed
7day trial u kidding me?
Excellent app, works beautifully, no crashes, very reliable.
Works perfect for my rpi3b
Perfect, simple, great API.
Great need to have.
Great addition to homeseer. There is a plugin for homeseer that links to this app by API key and allows messages to be pushed to your device as the result of homeseer events. Very cool!
Use it for Nagios. Way more convenient than relying on email alerts. The API is so straightforward though I am definitely going to add a few personal uses to it.
It Push notifications from anywhere with lots of config params. It's great. Only thing I miss is individual settings for different applications.
Hardly ever gets messages on WiFi, but tgen picks them up on mobile data
À perfect migration from PushBullet ; this one is really cool with many functionalities.
Great app for signals and others notifications
Works really well. Thanks!
Simple to use. Instant notificatons
Just started using this app to keep me in touch with my private group messages. Works very well.
I've updated my star rating as it has been rock solid for over a year. I don't like that it forces client app to DL tones or their ring tones. Pushover works on Windows/IOS/Android. Using w Homeseer, home automation software that has a plugin for this app. Swipe to delete requires an extra keystroke to delete each notification. Not good if you need to delete 50 notifications.
I am very happy with this app but I constantly get the message your device has been disabled and I have to re-register. I am managing critical servers and because of this issue I missed a few very critical issues because you only see that its not working if you manually refresh. I have mailed you guys but dis not get any response. I payed for the app so would like some feedback. Using samsumg S6.
Bought Pushover back when it was one of the few things integrated with IFTTT. Jumped ship for a bit with Pushbullet. After their pay tiers were announced, I looked for some alternatives. Happy to see Pushover is still being developed. Would gladly pay for the service again to support.
Having tried two other platforms first I've landed here and haven't had any major issues since. No major outages that I've experienced. Very comprehensive system and works with everything I've thrown at it.
If you want to easily send notifications to your phone this is the way to do it. Incredible support too: I emailed about a licencing problem at 4pm in a Sunday and it was solved within three minutes
Needs work
Seriously? I deleted it immediately. You should google how to make a classy app. I dont even care if its the best app in the world. As long as it forces me to buy, here is your dislike 1star or whatever.
I use it to track the status of my Plex media servers health and utilization and to be notified by Sonarr and Couch Potato when new content is added to my library.
Since PushBullet started charging a stupid rate per month I came back to trusty Pushover. Why did I ever leave?
Have been using this for server monitoring and while it reliably passes alerts there is currently no way to customise how each service is treated. I want some messages to be silent, some to play a certain tone that is different from others etc. When I go on holiday how can I mute certain services? Not possible at the moment sadly.
I'm using this with PHP Server Monitor to monitor multiple server types (mysql, email, web, etc). It works perfectly. Thanks to developers for a great tool in my admin toolkit.
Didn't initially plan on buying but it does what it should. To the devs: thank you for creating a app that does not crash and gives me a good experience
This is by far the best notifier around. Use it with more than 5 phones and average of 4000mss per month. Push service is extrzmely fast.
Would love Android TV support...well maybe you have it but I can't login on my TV. The dpad on the Android TV remote won't navigate the log in screen.
...can just a self hosted service be. Pushover can encrypt all traffic and messages to hide it from hungry servers and their providers.
Fast and reliable. Great service. That's a pity that there is no dark motive. Any visual setup will be highly appreciated.
Far too complicated and not user friendly at all. If I have to scour the internet to find the API key just so I can do something as simple as sync up my chrome browser notifications then this app is doing something wrong. If it takes more than 10 mins then it is not worth it, especially when there is so much competition.
Great, but would be better with Tasked integration and the ability to push from the android sharing interface
This is the king of kings right here! Embrace it!!! IFTTT integration to keep me on point with my RSS feeds, Pebble smartwatch support, universal alert dismissal sync and it keeps in touch like a close relative when it comes to Sickbeard, Sonarr, CouchPotato, Headphones, NZBGet, and SABnzbd on my Synology NAS. Thanks to the devs the only place for this app to go is upwards with the improvements. Pushover should be a Top 5 priority install on any new Android device. Anything less would be uncivilized. ;-)

This was exactly what I was looking for....an app that would reliably and immediately push commands from GoogleHome ---> IFTTT ---> Tasker. It also needed to incorporate Tasker variables. This app does all of that! I now have my GoogleHome making phone calls, reading my last text message, clearing notifications, turning my computer on/off/restarting, and sending text messages. This is awesome!
