It does not render the current song metadata correctly (actually not at all) when listening to a shoutcast stream. Idk if other stream types work. The simplistic menu is nice for a change instead of everyone trying to outdo each other with (not-so-incredible) eye candy menus or black background menus.

I wanted to live stream audio. Worked great for about 30 minutes. Lost the connection. When I reentered the URL it played for 5 seconds and stopped. It saved those 5 seconds and now that is all it will play. I have deleted and reentered that same 5 seconds multiple times but it still will no longer connect to the live stream at that URL.

Been listening to MOPS radio for many years, I had been using TuneIn. Great app yet a serious(in my mind anyway) issue. A little F-Droid searching and tried this, fell in love with it, it's pretty easy to use, does what it was made for, and WORKS with Viper4Android!!! Now, TuneIn is just a search engine for stations. Nice work developer.

Good app! Advantages - open source and lightweight. Disadvantage - no "Stop" button (when you press Pause, it is not clear whether it continues to download data or not).

Read that it is compatible with xspf playlists but could not work out how to add a playlist from SD card or USB drive. Wasted 20 mins of my life with this b.s. app

This is exactly what I needed - a simple tool to play internet radio streams. Please add possibility to open m3u files from sd card!

I love the minimalistic look and feel of this app. Though it took a while for me to understand the philosophy behind all menus. As of today it's clearly my favorite audio streaming app. Great work!

I put this on my old LG Optimus F3 and my new BLU Vivo Xl (Marshmallow) phones. I am a major internet radio listener... and put my streams I collect in an m3u file. Loaded the file beautifully and plays all the various streams. The app is super clean, functionality great, with swipe to change the "station' , playlist view is great, and looks just like as if it was on my computer in Winamp. . You did a great job on this app and if I knew how to make an app... it would be made just like this one. BIG Thumbs up guy. Thanks a lot !

Exactly what a radio tuner is designed to be!!! The best thing you can find around play, which says so little about google. Just bring your own radio station URLS...

Great app! Lets me monitor my private streams directly. Only problem is no way to edit or delete stored URLs.

D70%
by D####:

smooth, ... couldn't figure out out how to rename url's for internationalradio pls download sites. still in the learning curve ... but staying with the app ...

D70%

Pls look into adding stream specs displayed on player (bit rate and envelope). Also, my handheld is not pulling album art off net (rooted/stock/i545) and only occasionally pulls song details... Anyway, great app. Keep up the good work. Get a paid app version for donations (money is like s&x, if you don't ask for it, you'll probably get none ;) )

Edit .. now that I have used this app for a few weeks I am not so impressed as my initial review. I listen to my own stream on shoutcast all day while I work. For the first few days I forgave the odd lock up and failure but now it has come to a point where I find it unworkable. All I want to do is listen to a single stream all day. Every 1 to 2 hours the app locks up. Sometimes it can be freed, sometimes it completely locks my phone requiring me to restart or even remove the battery. Thank heaven I have a phone that you can do that. I think the lock ups are caused by the app recording every minute of the stream, sometimes I ask it to play and it plays a section from 4 hours ago .. ask it to stop, it freezes and locks. The memory on my phone dwindles, and it also begins to use tons of power. My Android complains of this and stops and closes the app. Why is there no setting that turns off the recording function? Drive from place to place, out of signal for 2 or 3 minutes, it locks and does not restart the stream when it re connects. Take a call, the stream restarts, plays the buffer, then fails and I need to ask it to re open the stream. Sometimes it will, sometimes it locks. It is using up loads of time just restarting the stream or restarting the phone. I like the ability to assign equaliser settings to a stream, but that's about all.

Buggy. Repeats the stream if I pause and play, then stops randomly requiring me to restart the feed.

D70%
by D####:

It keeps opening streams by itself and eating up data

E70%
by E####:

Plays live well, but pauses only seconds before having to reboot.

Went looking for a TuneIn alternative, and found it. Metadata won't render for me, but that's minor - it's lightweight & handles every station I've thrown at it.

Crashed every time I tried to save a URL I just uninstalled and send a little feedback to the developer. I'm using the S8 Plus

Awesome for streaming. Deducting 1 star because it doesn't display current Track Info. Please fix that, developer because the track info is diaplayed on PC music players.

It does exactly what I was looking for. Even lets me add urls to play, which I have not seen in any of the others I've tried.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do... let you play any stream you have a URL for. Clean and simple.

D70%

Simple but powerfull. Missing the manual edit for metadata in case if station does not stream it.

Good app, cannot rename playlist. But it is minor. -edit- Bug fixed for the latest version.

It doesn't show the name of songs and doesn't provides information of the streaming audio.

With ffmpeg in the back this is the one delivering when Android itself doesn't. One thing though, the icon is too big and not very good especially when in the notification bar. Many years later I'm back here confirming how great this little streaming app really is. Never fails and plays my local NPR station every day for hours on addition to Radio Paradise and Soma.fm. My one wish is that it was a little better at extracting meta data from streams, but that's it. Otherwise perfect! Can't say that about many apps these days.

I love it, the latest version seems to be working really well. Previously I had an issue stopping a stream, I had to force stop the app to make it go away. Glad to see it's fixed. Any plans to add a share option for the currently playing stream (url)? Edit: I found the share option, but I expected it on the music controls screen, not in the playlist. Still, well deserved 5 stars!

Best app! The Dark theme missing after update. I use it every day, hope to see this option in next version. Thanks.

The metadata for this URL never displays: http://stream.dar.fm:80/26154 ... I know we are SENDING it, as this is the station where I am the Engineer. :)

We run a small stream using OGG format and icecast. This is one of very few players that works. Awesome !!!!
