FastPhotoTagger for Android
I have 2000 scanned images of trains I took in the 70's plus 3000 digital photos taken more recently. Each has embedded exif data such as a caption, tags, gps data, date taken etc which was loaded semi-automatically via my laptop. I have looked high and low for an app that can select photos by searching the metadata and then display each one along with its caption. To me this is a superb facility. Seeing the captions with the photos is a bit like looking through (real) photos where the taker has written a bit about it on the back. I can view my photos quickly and efficiently whenever I like and unlike many apps, this one does not bombard you with irritating ads. Having decided which Exif fields to search on I have had very few problems using the app. After set-up a typical search of the 5000 images takes around 10 seconds, and the selected photos are ready to view. Note: if you are using FastPhoto Tagger with Android 6 (Marshmallow) and wish to access an SD card make sure storage access is granted by ticking the box in Settings --> Apps --> Fastphoto tagger --> Permissions. I am very impressed with this app as it allows me to search and display images quickly and easily.
Doesn't work for me. Just flashes on the screen S8 Plus, have to force close
Feature request: Ability to add GPS auto tagging to instantly add location. Still learning everything else
Well done.. enable storage permissions
Maybe it's the bad UI but I couldn't find a way to update tags.
Made my Note 5 screen flash on/off on 7.0 deleted. No operation at all.. Not compatible..
The user interface could use some work (home-> program settings-> metadata tags is where you go to change the tags, and I assumed home lead to the root folder) and it could use a lookup of tags exiftool supports, but unlike most android metadata apps, it will actually write the full breadth of tags, including xmp.
Really I am very impressed! Hope to see some improvements with batch editing as far as speed and simplicity. That said, great job and thank you very much. I'm hooked!

Works well and although the UI takes getting used to, it's very configurable. Very useful for pro photographers, and extremely helpful and friendly developer who helped me sort out an issue the same day i asked.
