About Song Machine
Song Machine is an easy-to-use tool for music notation and song composition.
With Song Machine, you can either create a new song from scratch or use its "Random Song" functionality. A random song doesn't just contain random notes, but Song Machine uses sophisticated algorithms to produce songs that sound like actual songs.
Features:
* Compose songs in major or minor with the touch of a button.
* Create a new variation of the current song with the same harmonic and tonal structure but with a different set of actual notes.
* The length and mode of the generated song can be configured.
* The generated music can be edited. More editing features will be added in the future.
* You can save your favorite songs and load them at a later time.
* You can save the song notation as a PNG image.
* The song can also be saved as a MIDI file so you can open it with a sequencer or digital audio workstation (DAW) software.
* Optimized for tablets, but works well on most phones too.

This is a promising app. I like it even with its shortcomings. The songs are not complicated melodies, and can be easily changed and rearranged in an outside MIDI editor. The results were pretty good when I did so in my DAW. With some work this could be a first class app to generate MIDI. What comes to mind for improvements: more measures than 64, tempo changes during song as an option, single note editing, more simultaneous tracks (4, 6, 8 even 16), drum track, chord progression, templates for different styles. Just thinking out loud and throwing it at you.

Pretty cool AI. Helps with writer's block, but seriously needs more modifications. Something I'd like to see is the ability to write your own chord progression or melody, where it would only come up with the other part.

I tried generating about ten songs. None of them were worth saving and playing back. I wouldn't even use them as a ring tone. Music isn't just an algorithm. Music is a language in its own right. An algorithm can also spew out random words, but they wouldn't mean a thing unless a consciousness is behind those words to express real thoughts and feelings.
