News & Weather for Android
Advertising has again become intrusive and redundant , plus derated or otherwise difficult to render articles. Derated one star. ----- Less intrusive advertising, general improvements, added a fourth star. ???? New advertising model too intrusive and redundant. While this long time user has appreciated the upgrades to this point, the advertising is too much.
This app has voice read for every story. One minor glitch. I cant pause voice momentarily witout going back to beginning. Otherwise excellent rendering. Dont mind add pops as long as there is a big X to close. Which is not the case now.
Outline typeface over black is hard to read on a phone with no other option and capsulised news is too brief for informed offline reading.
Not updating as of 11/6/17. Good stories and format, but often when you open the story it will appear for a few seconds but then just goes to a Website Not Available page inexplicably.
Fantastic news app. Some repeated stuff but ok
Would be better if articles dates were not mixed. The latest news should be on top
Nice app. Aggregates news from different sources into an easily accessible format
Hasn't been updating lately
News and weather at my fingertips whenever I want it I think this is a good idea
up until yesterday it was working fine. today it won't update
the black background is perfect on AMOLED. Choosing font colour would be nice.
Gives all latest updates on worldwide news which is good for all members of public
Basically contains a balance of news albeit of the relatively shallow depth.
Open it read it every day, great better then the rest
Keep up with the same
I have enjoyed this app for many years now
Great way to start the day news is fast.
Awesome because it's very easy to use
Many groups
Like this app. Easy to use
Disliked it.
Great app!
About 10 seconds after you click 'read article' and the article loads, it then goes to a plain white page saying "Web Page Not Available. net::ERR_UNKNOWN_URL_SCHEME". Infuriating. I thought the last update fixed this but clearly not. One star until fixed.
What the service considers to be prime top news is often sports or fluff. It sorts stories online by keywords, not by topic so you get unrelated stories under specific headings. Apparently, no real people actually oversee the site. Pretty much garbage. Has gotten worse over time.
It was good once, but the obtrusive ads have ruined a good app killed. No longer recommended. Also full article button does not allow you to screen out paid subscription news providers.
If there was a way to remove the ads I would give this 5 stars. OK so now you can remove ads by spamming your friends. Not cool. Still great news app though.
Gave up on this app. Just too much space given to liberal biased news.
Nice app but Lifehacker feed has died with no new arricles these past few weeks.
Loccal News Channel never works in my home state yet works fine elsewhere. Amateur software.
It crashes quite a bit and is quite annoying.
My favorite channel, linebacker was the "go to" one for me. It no longer works and my inquiry about this has been ignored.
Thanks to the developer It's the best among all the news app tried many ,nothing like NewsHog Thanks again
Far too many ad's.
today No Sound for reading, Hopefully fix soon, thank you.
Best app on my Nook color Ereader...never had it fail...best choices of categories to fit my reading style
It works for me since I'm always on the road driving uber.
I love to read the news at anytime of the days. News Hogs that option. The news are in my smart phone.
I really like Newshog, but wish I could pay a few bucks to receive an add free version.
I use it a lot and it's pretty informative. Needs a 'general' category for nonspecific social commentary, or lifestyle, perhaps.

In general, I appreciate the diversity of news brought to my attention through this app, however it is not sufficient to be one's only news source. When sharing articles, my recipients often can't access them if I share directly from Newshog, so every time I have to share to clipboard and then go to the article through browser on order to share the direct link. Also, many of the news stations from which articles are linked, won't actually let you read the article unless you subscribe, so again, I have to look for the headline myself through browser.
