About Calendar Colors

A little app for changing the colors of your calendars. No root needed!

SINCE CHANGING THE CALENDAR COLORS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL FUNCTIONALITY OF ANDROID AND MIGHT NOT WORK ON ALL DEVICES, PLEASE TEST IT FIRST WITH THE TEST VERSION OF THIS APP!

For changing a calendar color, just touch the calendar and choose a new color.
When you leave the app, the colors might change back to their original value at some time.
This is done by Android when it synchronizes the calendars with Google (or other calendar providers).
In order to reapply your new colors manually, touch the "Restore all" button.
In order to let the app monitor the calendar colors and reapply your values automatically, check the "Restore colors automatically" options.
This will start a background service, you will notice it by the little calendar icon in the notification area.
This icon is necessary, without it Android would kill the app after some time, because it is doing nothing most of the time.

ATTENTION: with Android 3.x (Honeycomb) and 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Android is changing the colors back much faster than before.
Unfortunately this makes the automatic restore unstable (it might be killed by Android after some time, the icon disappears) and the battery consumption will be higher, at least as long as the display is on! At the moment I have no idea how to prevent this. This is not an issue with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and newer anymore.

NOTE: Some calendar apps might not show your colors correctly or at all, please test it with another app before reporting (e.g. "Touch Calendar" shows the colors correctly). I have no influence on such apps!

If you have any problems please contact me at support@slintes-IT.com before giving a bad rating/comment on the market,
I will do my best to help you! Please provide as many details as possible in your mail, like your device, the Android version, the error message, the calendar app you use...

There are certainly things that could be imporved UI wise. Other than a small issue with the color picker it worked as intended. While the Google Calendar app already supports changing color for Google calendars, this app is needed to change the color for Exchange calendars etc.

Google calendar may change back but you can change that from the web page. Works perfectly for all other calendars!

This solves a really annoying problem with unreadable calendar appointments. Great little utility.

S70%

Just a little annoyed that I have to keep restoring the colors that I set. After a few hours I go into my calendar and they are all back to default.

S70%

Delivers what it is supposed to.

S70%

Allows for a simple, yet important Calendar enhancement, for a very small fee. Especially useful if you have multiple calendars syncing.

This should be a part of the built in calendar

Solid idea and implementation. Does not support my Samsung galaxy S2 with ICS at the moment but the dev is looking at that. Dev is very helpful and quick to respond.

S70%
by S####:

Doesn't really help changing Google Calendar colors (it will, but the color doesn't stick long), but those can be changed in the Google Calendar, so not a big deal. However, having the ability to change the colors of your Exchange or any ActiveSync calendar accounts works great. They won't get overwritten because there is no color to sync with.

Color coded Calendar!

D70%
by D####:

The only app that works out of all that I tried. This is on my Galaxy S3 running CM 11 m9.

D70%

The need to refresh the colors is unfortunate, but does appear to be out of the developer's hands. At least he or she made it super easy to revert to your modifications!

Z70%
by Z####:

Works on my Nexus 5. Great that the notification icon is hidden from the status bar.

X70%

Works on my LGOG, CM10.2

To remove permanent icon and notification in Jelly Bean: in Settings / Manage Apps / CalendarColours / Show Notifications and untick the box it removes the constant notification!

U70%
by U####:

Works great, but the constant notification is unnecessary and creates clutter. Galaxy T989D

B70%

Does exactly what it says it does, works perfectly on Galaxy Nexus LTE.

M70%

Works great!

X70%

W70%

Good. Does what i needed. It changes my colours for my different accounts but the reset button doesn't work on my tab. How ever on my galaxy next it does. Only the colours are abit dull. Please fix reset. Thanks

X70%
by X####:

Only allowed me to change it once. When I tried to change colors again, it became an ugly yellow and won't go back to default or re-customize.
