LTE Discovery is a powerful signal discovery and analysis tool with many advanced features and customizations available.
Key features:
- Identifies LTE band for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and several other countries (support for more carriers added with the crowdsource feature and user aid)

Disclaimer:
- This is an advanced app with some features specific to only some devices/carriers. Many thanks to the community for the support and the questions and feedback.
- "Best signal available" doesn't mean this app can make LTE appear where there is none. There is no such thing as an "LTE signal booster" app, what actually happens is forcing the device to search again for the best signal rather than staying connected to an older, possible stale connection.
- Not all devices/carriers are supported for LTE bands and other advanced signal data. These are limitations of those devices.
- At this time, the in-app map is only used for showing current location. Though, Sprint+Pro users may have more feature. Support for more carriers is currently in active development.
- From user reports, Verizon sometimes provides tower location, but they are typically inaccurate.

By resetting the mobile connection, you can fix many common network related issues like: continuous low signal, data disconnection, poor call quality, signal instability, and more. You could also fix these issues by restart/reboot your phone, or you could just let LTE Discovery reset your radios in a few seconds. But, better signal quality is not a guarantee, especially if you are in a carrier zone with little coverage.

Most of the features work well, but with T-Mobile at least in PA it can't tell the difference between band 4 and 2, it always says band 4. I love the free widget, but I would like to be able to change widget background from the grey with ugly green border.

I've noticed that the "start features on boot" option doesn't seem to work. Some good future features would be the ability to see UMTS and GSM bands on 7.0+ devices and also the ability to see bands of neighbouring cells.

It's a very useful app. I used it to see the phone's compatibility for a carrier-branded phone on a different carrier since unlocked doesn't mean phone is fully compatible to other carriers.

Devs are up front and honest in what the app can and cannot do, and how and why it collects the information that it does. Very useful for me being at the edge of the only Verizon cell tower around which is constantly overloaded to a point that simple web pages won't load. Helps make my case to Verizon to build out their infrastructure by being able to specifically tell them which channel I'm on and exactly the signal I'm getting. Great app guys, keep up the great work.

There may not even be a proper way to identify the band(s) in use, but I've noticed with my new Galaxy S8 on T-Mobile, your app often simply displays 4G rather than the band. I'm assuming due to the use of multiple bands via MIMO and that other fancy new tech they're utilizing with this phone..?

Monitors your LTE data connection and shows connected band except on Galaxy Avant where it continuously shows 4G. Instead of an LTE band number .

Was able to speak to T-Mobile regarding the signal I was receiving. They ended up tweaking my band 12 so it is usable now. Outstanding!

OS 6.0.1 Runtime Error, have it installed on numerous other devices and it runs great. But java.lang.RuntimeException error with Sam J3 Emerge - app won't open at all. Force closes to error reporting screen
