About Miracle Modus

"It goes ding and you feel better." -- Jesse H., noted fantasy author and spouse

The Miracle Modus is a source of hypnotic rainbows and soft bells. I'm autistic, and I wrote this because I wanted something to mitigate sensory overload. I find mathematically-patterned rainbow lights very soothing. After I showed it to a couple of friends and they had similar experiences, I decided to publish it.

The first time you open the app, it will make a bit of noise and draw a bunch of lines, squares, and hexes. Once it's done this it should have a guess as to how fast your device is, and be able to perform decently. This is a little unreliable still; improvements are planned.

More testimonials from users:
"I can stop watching this whenever I want to, I just don't want to right now." -- Magical Princess Lory, webcomic artist
"It changed my life and perception. Whether it was for the best remains to be seen." -- brightwave, app developer
"I was so overloaded my face went numb and I couldn't get up off the couch, so he showed me the app and said to give it a try, and I felt relaxed for the first time in days. If you are stuck on the couch whimpering, try to slide this app under your prostrate face as soon as possible." -- Luka D., webcomic artist
"It's so cool I can't even look at it." - Lerg, app developer

USAGE:
Watch the pretty lights. Want different pretty lights? Tap in any corner, then tap the arrows to change modes. Most modes are at least a little interactive, but sometimes it is pretty subtle. After you've explored a bit, you may find you prefer some modes, or don't like some of them. We've thought of that!

SETTINGS:
Tap in any corner, then tap on the gear to bring up the settings page. This allows you to change (or disable) the sounds, enable or disable modes so you only see your favorites, or re-run the benchmark phase if you think it got bogus results.

SUPPORT:
See the support page. Feel free to email suggestions for display modes you'd like to see, as I enjoy writing new display modes. If you wish to report the app being slow or erratic, be sure to tell me what device you've got, and what it's doing.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Performance is not as reliable as I'd like.

PRICING:
The app is free. It used to have a donation feature, but it wasn't worth the effort of maintaining.

ABOUT THE NAME:
The name "Miracle Modus" is used by kind permission of Andrew Hussie. It is a reference to a device in his webcomic "Homestuck".

by T####:

I have a pretty life-disrupting anxiety problem, which varies from very little of an issue at all to an extremely major one. This seems like it will be quite helpful when calming down, and I feel coupled with a pair of headphones could function pretty effectively as a kind of portable 'safe zone' for when I'm feeling crushed by whatever's troubling me at that time. Sounds don't seem to work on my device, however... while the app is open it seems to mute my device entirely.

T70%
by T####:

I have anxiety when I'm alone, or when it's too quiet. Like trying to fall asleep is really hard. The modus really helps me settle down and feel safe

I installed it because of Homestuck, but couple of years later it became an amazing calming app, I'm schizophrenic (moderately severe) and since I always have my phone with me I always launch the app when I'm about to have an episode. It manages to help like nothing else, since all the "relaxing techniques" like reading something etc make me even more paranoid and even more scared, while MModus never makes me feel threatened. It really saved me many times, thanks man. Fav is firebugs and colors

I just discovered this app in the hopes of reducing my anxiety. It really works! The music is soothing and my favorites are the interactive ones, especially the fire. Thank you!

Great app to help calm or distract. Works for me and my eldest (both Autistic) and my younger children. I have also used it in my previous line of work in care (Autistic adults) as a redirection tool. However, I'm not fond of either the knights options has they have no reaction to touch. The raindrops option is also very slow to react, since it only allows one raindrop at a time. Also some extras sound and colour options would be nice.

T70%
by T####:

Sometimes higher pitches relax me and sometimes lower pitches relax me. Maybe an option for tone range? Like high, medium, low, and all? It would help a lot. I like the low range of Firebug but the Splines are more pleasant to look at, though right now the high tones give me a headache.

Z70%
by Z####:

This app is great for stimming and even helps with my panic attacks, but it force-mutes my entire phone while it's running. I've seen at least one other person have this problem; is there a fix?

T70%

This is soooooooo calming. It's perfect for when I'm having an attack, especially outside of my home. Developer, you are an amazing guy for making this, thank you!

T70%

They say this app is relaxing, it sorta is, but it is very werid, but the big problem is that the control is very unresponsive which leads up to frustration! Overall: 8.5/10 (Highly Recommended)

T70%
by T####:

This app is honestly mesmerizing, but I have noticed that when used with an LG HBS770 Bluetooth headset, it glitches the audio, which is apparently a common problem among apps, even with Netflix. I'm not sure if it happens with all or most bluetooth headsets, so I specified my model.

T70%
by T####:

Had a sound issue, however, but a review below advised to turn up the ringer volume, which made it work. I have an autistic friend and I'm excited to show this to her!

T70%
by T####:

As one that is also Autistic, I must say that your creation of this app is rather interesting, but more so attributes a calming effect to me regardless of sensory overload or if I'm having an off/bad day. Though both "Knights" settings could use an alternation to touchscreen reaction rather than having it on a setting of self action. But, apart from that, I grant you kudos on developing such a unique and wonderful application.

This app is a great stress reliever, and I'm schizophrenic. This app has helped me relax like I've never really been able to before. (And F YEAH, Homestuck!)

R70%
by R####:

Helps with anxiety but not much for my worst of attacks. I would make an option to show the visuals upon plugging into charger. Also a Simple alarm clock with simple pixelated numbers and small icon for current weather type and degrees below that.

Then ran through constant spiral shapes that were very random and basic. The app never progressed past that point. It WILL NOT change to any other design by tapping or anything else. I have an ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe. It has plenty of speed and memory, but this app did nothing.Actually, it reminded me of the graphic level in 1980s video games. Bright colors, but no smooth operations that I could ever relate to being relaxing. Got it for my son, he watched it for about 30 seconds and said delete it. Sorry.

Before any one asks, I have the sound turned up on my phone, and the sound turned on in the app, but it won't play anything, fix and then it would be 5 star

This is such a beautiful app. I am an autistic adult and I use it to calm down and sometimes to stim. I've also found that my baby seems to calm down when I show it to her.

For some reason, the sound won't turn on. I doubt it's my phone because when I try a different game, the sound goes on perfectly fine. Hopefully there's a way to fix this?

I have trouble pulling myself away from this! It's very calming. The spirals are my favorites! Thank you for making this!

I love everything about it, the soothing sounds, the moving shapes and being able to interact with them~ I love how you can change the sounds and color scheme. Must have for autistics who need visual stims or just for fun

Hey Dev, this would make a great live wallpaper. I would purchase that if you made it. I really like this app, and I also wish I could give you extra stars for not needing any permissions. This is just amazing. Good job Dev!

I've had this app for years. I found it while searching for homestuck things and it is the only app tp survive my comstant app purges. I was recently diagnosed with autism and this app has saved me from things so many times, even before I had the words to describe what I was going through.

i wanted to say i had this app a while ago, back when it only had about 5 settings. i love how much more detailed it is now, i love the different color themes and all the new settings. i thought it was wonderful before, this is really amazing and beautiful.

As the name implies, it performs miracles. I've had this app on my phone for years now. It helps me fall asleep often when I need to calm my mind and it helps me come down from anxiety attacks. I've found my favorite modes are the spiral and the raindrops personally, with the ocean theme.

This reminds me of Gamzee from Homestuck. Well miracles are Gamzee's thing. But I just got entranced by the colors. I absolutely admire this. The music is on spot as well!

It's pretty good, except that a couple of days after downloading, the volume refused to work. Uninstalling then reinstalling. I'll give it another chance, but please fix and i'll give it 5 stars. ☺

C70%
by C####:

The only thing that could improve this app is if you could replace the slightly annoying music with something of your own choice and have the images (can't think of the right word) match the melody. I'm Autistic. Edit: Just discovered one can turn off the music, so background play from an MP3 player app should work.

X70%

I think mostly it's wonderful, but I don't get the sound. It just doesn't work. I would also like it if there were more color choices.

This helps my son calm down, love the range of visuals and the audio is soothing, my favourite part is the subtle interactivity with touches, just noticeable enough but not distractingly so. Brilliant app.

But it would be nice if it didn't stop music playing so you could listen to it while the app runs. And also maybe an interface remodeling.
