WIFI Badger - Scan and Roam for Android
The app seems to shut itself down after not switching networks for some time. Also it is labelled as v1. 73.
App does the trick for me. Only thing is that I would like to understand what the settings individually do. Small question mark behind the settings with an explanation or help button would do the trick I guess.
Only app I've found that actually works with multiple access points with same SSID.
It works!
It works finaly, however a bit slow in switching to the strongest signal within the same SSID, I am using extender downstair. Btw what is the explamation about power-on polling and power-off polling? Thanks
After going through dozens of fail apps and avoiding dozens of obvious trojans this was the first to just work with same ssid network.
Works pretty much as described. It seems to prioritize 5ghz access points over 2.4 even when the 2.4 has better signal, but most of the time it's not a problem. Great app!
I, don't think apps are ment to work!
Very practical app.please reduce battery consumption
Great! But wish it would switch access points quicker!
Works great, but requires "Location Service" to be on for WiFi scanning. However, other WiFi analyzer app , e.g. WiFiAnalyzer(open source), on the same cell phone can do WiFi scanning (SSIDs, BSSIDs, etc.) without turning on the Location Service. Turning on Location Service may cause unnecessary battery drain and privacy concern. The open souce app may give some hint/guide on how WiFi scanning can be done without Location Service.
Best wifi roaming app
Worked great until the OxygenOS open beta 28 update on my Oneplus 3 with Oreo 8.0.0. I think the OS kills background processes more agressively. Please fix this if possible.
Pretty good but I can't seem to make the notification bar entry go away. I run it constantly so I don't need that thing hogging up space .
Worked great then started crashing. Won't run at all. Originally rated 5 on first day. Now would not recommend.
Works perfectly for Router + WiFi Extender network setup with same SSID name and channel. Spend the day trying various apps but this is the only one that keeps my Galaxy S5 and S7 phones connected to the highest strength signal access point.
Great app. Works really well.
The only app I found which changes to the same SSID based signal strength. It actually works, is very flexible, and a great UX.
This app has marshmallow support, but keeps crashing itself
When I am in location with multiple wifi I get the best service available.
It really does work great if multiple networks, or close proximity to others, or in-between towers this makes sure you are not burning through battery.
Keeps my gaming lag to a minimum and my nvidia shield streaming smooth.
Works great!

Finally a Wi-Fi roaming application that actually works. LineageOS insists on connecting and reconnecting to the last AP even though that one rather reads -60dBm RSSI while another AP with the same ESSID has an RSSI of -27 dBm. WIFI Badger finally fixed this dreadful behaviour. I definitely enjoyed having detailed information about all of my access points.
