WA Emergency Waiting Times

Sometimes it makes sense to drive a bit further than your closest hospital to attend an emergency department, as that emergency department may not be as busy as your local hospital. This app provides both estimated hospital emergency waiting times and estimated driving times, then aggregates them and sorts the results so you can see the shortest aggregated time first, helping you make your decision quicker.

Note: If someone is seriously injured or in need of urgent medical help you should call Triple Zero (000).

Emergency Waiting Times

Information provided by the app serves as a guide only. Triage categories are allocated to each patient based on an assessment of their presenting conditions, generally by the triage nurse, with triage 1 being the most urgent and triage 5 being the least urgent. ***The average waiting time that is displayed is for patients who have been assessed as triage 4, since that is the most frequently allocated triage category***. Patients are always seen in order of clinical urgency.

Driving Times

Driving times are calculated based on your current location, which requires your location settings (GPS) to be switched on. Driving times are subject to the Google Maps Terms of Service.
