MPD Remote (free) for Android
MPD Remote is a program designed to control a MPD (Music Player Daemon) server. It can also be used as a standard music player for Android together with aMPD.
A few notes
- MPD Remote does NOT work with MPD version 0.14 and older.
- With large music collection it might be necessary to increase the max_output_buffer_size in the mpd.conf file on the MPD server.
- The "Read Phone State" permission allows MPD Remote to send a pause command to the MPD server when a phone call is started.
- The enqueue functionality does not work probably with MPD version 0.16 and 0.15.
Only lists by Artist, no option to use Album Artist tag instead
Easy to configure and use. Support for multiple servers is appreciated.
Great app for a phone to control Rune Audio running on a rapsberry pi with an IQAudio DAC. Tried most of the MPD controller apps and this is the one I use the most. Like the album view but it does make a mess of compilation albums, which it places under the name of the first artist, rather than under 'various'. The file structure view is accurate (and usable) but then it doesn't show the album artwork. A fix to either would be great.
Doesn't syncronise with the server. I know the server is configured correctly since MPDroid works.
Very good. Adding fm stations missing
It would be swell if dark theme will be available and widget like mpdroid has.
MPDroid is better (and it's pretty bad)
widget not working in cyanogenmod. Only problem is that none of the clients are not responding to media buttons and no lock screen buttons. Can you please implement this function?
Just installed it right new and paired it with my Raspberry Pi and it works wonders. Simple fast and straight to the point. Keep up the good work!
Nice functional app. Could be perfect with little visual (UX) makeover. Only one supporting multi servers! Thanks

A good minimal mpd client. New album art downloading is a nice touch. It could use a few more features and maybe a dark theme, but overall solid. Worth buying the full version, especially if development continues.
Changed my review. Works well. If you have problems try setting max_output_buffer_size in server mpd.conf.

Great app. I love the "mute on incoming call option"!!! Unfortunately, I can only browse my library by the "genre" tag. I'd have gladly bought this app if I could figure out a way to browse by album title or artist. Fix that and take my money!
