Provided you have an AMOLED screen, covering it completely with a black overlay is an effective way to conserve power. However this app does not successfully cover the whole screen! On my Nexus 6P a black rectangle is drawn but there is a thin gap along the right edge and a bigger gap at the bottom of the screen. This would still save power but covering the whole screen would obviously be better.

Wish you could change how long you want the long press to be. I can see it still coming on in your pocket. Needs to be at least 3 seconds not 1

This apps just help you turn the screen into dark color, not complete switch off the screen, it still consuming power.
