# FEATURES
1. MONDO lets you create an individualised reading program based on your interests and reading level:
- Relevant articles: MONDO includes articles which are categorised based on area of interest, such as Japanese news, art, food, drink, subcultures, and much more.
- Difficulty: articles are sortable by difficulty level to help you target the right reading difficulty level, if desired.
- Expected time to read: articles display the expected reading time, so you can choose to read shorter or longer articles based on your available time.

2. MONDO lets you read Japanese smoothly:
- Simple Tap Dictionary: If you find an unknown word when you read an article, tap the word and it will be shown in Hiragana and English. This enables you to understand an article even if there are many kanji you cannot yet read, while helping you improve your kanji study at the same time.
- Smart Scrolling: Articles can scroll automatically at your desired reading speed, to help improve your natural Japanese reading comprehension.

3. MONDO enriches your Japanese vocabulary and helps you learn through its “smart study” capability:
- Your Wordbook: Words you look up are automatically saved into your wordbook. This creates an automatic dictionary of new words you are learning, for future reference and study.
- Word Test: MONDO can create automated quizzes for you based on the words in your wordbook, to help you truly learn the meaning and the kanji.

4. MONDO includes a Japanese English Dictionary:
- MONDO’s onboard dictionary lets you look up words “in app” without resorting to browser-based translation programs.
- Words you look up in the Dictionary are also saved into your wordbook, further enabling your mastering of reading Japanese.

5. HandShake feature:
- You can find Japanese friends, and friends learning Japanese language.
- When you shake hands with other user, you can connect with them and see their study logs.

6. MONDO has feature to help your listening comprehension:
- You can listen to an audio narrated by native Japanese speaker.

Very useful for learning new vocab, though sometimes there is no definition available for certain words that I highlight. Considering that's rarely the case, I give Mondo a 4 :)

Keeps crashing.

S70%
by S####:

This app is great for looking up words quickly while reading and then putting them in a list that you can study later using flashcards. But the app restarts often while reading articles, studying flashcards, or doing quizzes. I also think it would be good to have a search function so that users can easily search for topics they would like to read.

What's with that. I just want to practice reading

W70%
by W####:

Only just started using it, but as someone who has studied Japanese in school, it's exactly what I was looking for to improve my skills without another textbook. It's super useful and really well made. I highly recommend as the best learning app I've found for Japanese. (Not recommended for beginners, you should should already have basic/conversation grammar down. This will do kanji and vocab in real life, natural written form.)

S70%
by S####:

Seems to have sound pedagogical principles, but still can't figure out the point. Just read to myself? Anyway, I was hoping to find one of the articles about Toshiba, which has had several stories recently.

S70%
by S####:

Keeps crashing on my S5. Word lists like JLPT N4 sometimes show up, sometimes don't. Can't enter the flash card test, etc. even sometimes when the word list shows up.

S70%
by S####:

I don't write many reviews, I've probably written under three, this may even be the first. I usually just can't be bothered, but I felt compelled to write one for this app. Its incredibly useful, works well and I love the unlock quizes, they make sure I don't forget. Well done creators, well done.

S70%
by S####:

I liked and will use it but I would REALLY LOVE if it also used a Japanese to Japanese dictionary instead of a Japanese to English one (or that we could have the option to choose). I am learning japanese this way and having it translate to english only hinders that. Please add! Thanks!

W70%
by W####:

Why not just show all the related words instead of just one?

E70%
by E####:

Very good app but the introductional guide images are very blurry and of super low quality so it's almost impossible to read.

V70%
by V####:

By far the best app to read Japanese articles, in my opinion. Some features (e.g. Meet speaking partners) have not carried from the iOS app, but I am still happy with the quality of this app. Thank you!

L70%
by L####:

The application crashes a lot. Quiz is from notification crashes every time. Please fix it
