Maps & GPS Navigation OsmAnd+ for Android
Love the apps ability to use OSM for offline accurate navigation. Sadly not showing mini roundabouts, and postcode search is hit and miss. Even when postcode is in the OSM information
Great job
For more than 4 years I have extensively used this app for hiking and trekking through different parts of the world including northern and western Europe, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia, etc. I have never really needed the plus version but I really wanted to return the favour and pay these guys something for the fantastic software they have made. I have used it only once for driving on a trip from Belgium to Switzerland and it did quite well. But i wouldn't know how they perform in comparison with online maps like Waze or Google maps. Anyway I really appreciate what you have made and wish you all the best. Thanks.
A very good offline navigation app. I would have given it 5 stars but its download engine needs more work. Downloading map or contour files is painfully slow and often terminates prematurely. There's a website for downloading map files using a computer, but none for contour files (that I know of). Downloading map files with a pc is very, very much faster!
The most complete solution. It has EVERYTHING, fom driving you somewhere to explore a place tks to its detailed maps, find yr way in a sky resort or analyze yr running patterns. Thats said, a few concerns: - still not easy to look-up/find a place - only one path proposed to navigate somewhere and no live update to compute the best path (e.g. traffic, incidrnts..) - slow to compute the path, and in general it needs a powerfull smartphone. Yet, the best off-line map and navigator available, i.e. that does everything by itself without asking the help of online servers to provide the output.
Very good but I can't disable bus stops. And parking for bicycles is spaming the map so can't see the streets through the parking spot icons... Too much information (a bit don't need this, it's more a useful feature for thieves. POI is off. When I hide POI the are still the busstops by name in fat blue.
Offline maps don't work at all because they cannot be downloaded in the first place. Extremely slow servers, connection timeouts. And without offline maps, it becomes useless to me and hence receives 1 star.
It's practically impossible to search an adress. I'm getting frustrated and will install another navigation app. It must be possible to give the name of a street and get it to show it on the map.
Has potential. Superb map information. Lacking basic features which are standard in apps like Magic Earth (OSM). No 3D view. Speed camera warnings far too late, approximately 50 yards away. When used without a navigated route there's no sound. Camera icon appears but no warning information comes through. Virtually no postcodes for UK. These are features that should be automatically included. Would only use as a standby if Magic Earth failed. By the way, free traffic updates are included in M.E.
I love this app, but hate that it takes up 500MB of internal storage to save the map data. I have a SD card in my phone, but it's a known bug that OsmAnd can't use external storage with Android 6 or 7. PLEASE update this app to use the newer permission system that grants access to the SD card.
Offline navigation route sometimes very wrong. Time estimation nearly always to short. No 3d perspective view. No continuous movements of the moving position while driving. Everything else perfect!
Best map for offline navigation with the datebase of openstreetmap. But I really miss the option to let gps active when the screen is off. If you follow a route the gps is active in the background and you get your command, but If you don't follow a route it takes a while to get a gps fix again. If I remember correctely this was an option when you tapped the gps icon.
I've been using this app for years now. It proved to be invaluable helper during road trips and hiking in unknown mountain terrains. I mostly use it for finding possible paths to-and-out of somewhere. I also used POI (point of interest) information A LOT. They are already included in downloaded maps. I don't usually pay for apps, but these developers are definitely worth the support. Also - somebody complained about GPS reception. NONSENSE, it's not even this app's fault. Most of the times I get pretty accurate location within a second (1s), but this speed depends on the phone itself. The only con of this app is search of specific addresses... But it's not a problem for me, as I use this app as interactive paper Topo maps replacer.
No nonsense navigation app that does the job nicely. The rich screen and map setup possibilities and the possibility to navigate pre-set gpx tracks makes it a must. Thanks!
It became very slow with zooming in Android O (8). Still good and handy app. Need support for opening fox and kml files via intent from other apps.
Good maps with everything covered. But it can not upload cycle routes of more than a few miles or it just gets stuck.. So now it's not possible to use..
Using it for two years as it has offline maps. But... 1. Moving maps to the SD card is not possible under Android 5.0. I know it's an Android problem but other apps offer a work-around for this known problem. 2. Finding an address is awkward. It was better two years ago, became then just horrible, and is now slowly improving but is still a pain to use it. 3. Using GPX data is not possible as it seems all track data points get mixed up randomly. Result is an endless zig zag chaos on the map. GPX files are ok as all other programs process the files properly.
Excellent app. After getting lost on a hike (someone had turned a direction post) and having Google Maps fail because of a) lack of paths and b) intermittent data connection, I had a 'duh' moment, and wondered if there were any offline OSM apps. Found this and Magic Earth, and after trials of both concluded this one was much more feature-rich and configurable. Highly recommended!
very good maps. Unfortunately this app crashes everytime if I want to install more than 8 maps. Afterwards I cannot open it again.
Great maps app. Works well offline, uses SD-card, what is nice as some phones have limited memory. Lots of functions ( offline vector maps, offline routing, gpx record & display). Great openstreetmap maps - useful for car navigation (with minor limitations) and hiking. I also recommend the contour lines plugin for hiking.
When the app restarts then the last used display profile (bicycle, pedestrian...) should be restored
Started with the free version and had a simple issue that turned out to be super simple. Should have figured that out myself. But support responded quickly and fixed it. Love the map display and recording features. Using it for hiking. Decided to pay for this version to support the work.
I can't access the map legend any more, even when online, which is a nuisance.
I need offline map for travelling into country where I will not have mobile data access. This app rocks. Restaurant reservation feature is not helpful without internet anyway.
Why the splash screen? Switching between apps is now a horrible experience! I have to look up things in the browser and what not
Screen rendering speed is absolutely not satisfactory - very very slow on Android 8.0.0 Oreo Nexus 6p ☹️
Simply the best android navigator(offline). Very Fast and plenty of details. Full of features!. I hope you can add online features for traffic., recently I'm using online maps because of traffic updates.
Phantastic for navigation. Just download all maps and use it offline, find point of interests like gas stations etc. Big Thanks to this project. Happy to support it by buying the app!
Only problem I have is that the map renders very very slowly.
Finally there is ability to search in old-school way (by country / city / address)!
All is great, but after reinstalling app I have lost ability to view 8gb sqlite format map. How I can fix it?
This is fraud, do mit buy. Bought the contour line plugin, nevet got i this and no refund offered. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Super useful app. I'm using it as a backup for trekking trips in remote areas. Often the maps from OSM are more up to date than printed maps.
Superb mapping app - although still a bit tricky / unintuitive to search for places
Always great and getting better. I've been using OsmAnd as my primary map for more than 6 years
Download issue fixed, all back to normal. Great app, would be lost without it ! :-)
Even though there is a free version with most functionalities, the app is superb and open source. The devs deserve the money.
Türkiye kullanıcıları boşuna para harcamış olur.
I have tried many off-line nav apps. This is clearly the best I have found so far.

Map rendering speed has become extremely slow since I moved to a Pixel XL. It worked brilliantly on my Note4 but it's unusable on my Pixel. Uninstalling after years of use for planning and tracking walks. I've waited for updates but nothing is happening on this performance issue so, I'm giving up, I'm afraid.
