Justin Guitar Beginner Song Course

Thi app is amazing so far. I have been off and on the guitar for years and I decided over break to finally sit down and learn it in it's entirety not just a couple songs. This is doing that for me and so much more. I love it in able to fly through because of the bit of knowledge I had. But way cheaper. Way more fun, and very well put together. Wish i woulda had this 3 years ago and maybe I woulda stayed with it 3 years ago! Thank you for this amazing app

First time really learning guitar. I have had a guitar in the past, I have tried books, and ends, but Justin teaches the basics in a fun and easy to understand way. I am 45 years old, and thought my fingers were too fat and could not play........I was wrong! 2 weeks in and I know 3 chords and am working on transitions and strumming! Can't wait to sit at the campfire! Thank you Justin!!

After putting guitar down over fifty years ago. And then playing bass in a backing band for a few years needed some thing to sort out what I thought I had left behind after all those years . With the super format of the lessons. Thanks for the great app.

So far I've found the lessons and tutorials very intuitive, and I've had no issues with crashing. One minor improvement would be to indicate which songs have strumming patterns, and which are single strums in the song selection area in stage one, so that it's easier to choose which songs to try but that's a minor thing. Overall glad to have found a tool to help me get back into guitar after losing momentum a couple of years back. Thanks!

I really like this app as Justin not only takes things nice and slow but also explains how and why things are happening and reassures that cocking up is normal and all part of the learning process. I have tried to learn guitar many times and given up as the tutors made me feel I should progress faster but I feel encouraged to keep playing this time around . Fully recommend to anyone

WOW. this app tho! I'm only 18 days into my guitar practice and I've already progressed SO MUCH thanks to Justin. he teaches you easier more bacis notes first and gradually increases the difficulty. I'm already beginning stage 4 (out of 9 stages) and feeling really confident! the 1 minute chord changes aren't super fun, but seeing your speed and accuracy increase is incredible. don't slack on your chord change exercises! there's a lot of great songs too. I needed to work on my C chord and "every rose has it's thorn" was the perfect tempo to improve it. Thank you!!

This app really makes me feel like I am going to finally be able to learn how to play my guitar. I've owned that guitar for 12 years and have tried to pick it up off and on without much luck. I've already learned more than in the past 12 years combined. I can't wait to see where it takes me!

I always thought I'm not good for guitar but Justin's techniques are showing me that I just had bad instructions in the past. It's just day by day practice and I'm understanding it now. Awesome app!

Justin, this is the best learning app ever. I am so happy to have found this even though I take lessons every week I still love being able to play along with the music. I'm getting much faster.

I started learning guitar with Justin's website two years ago but for various reasons (mostly laziness) I let my practice lapse. Got back into it last month and found this app. It's a fantastic way to keep everything together, tracking your one minute changes and including the practice songs. It's a little bit steep to unlock at £56 a year but it is everything you need in one place. My only complaint is that the one minute changes timer needs some audible notification when it starts and stops because beginners will be looking at their fingers, not the screen. Also, if it was able to use the microphone to count the changes for you, that'd be very useful though I acknowledge that that might be difficult to implement and prone to error.

When I started learning to play the guitar a few days ago I downloaded a bunch of apps to find the best one out there and this one is definitely it. I started first with Justin's course on YouTube, but this is better, because the app makes it more fun and easier to track your progress. Almost like having a personal tutor.

Always wanted to play guitar. Wife surprised me this Christmas with a Keith Urban guitar and lesson kit. However, I was really getting frustrated with the lesson plan that came with the package. Downloaded Justin guitar and the lesson videos are great! It also has exercises that really help with chord changes. That was where I was lacking the most. I could hit the chords, had to stop strumming to switch to the next chord. Justin teaches the anchor note method and then gives you one minute excersises that makes you practice switching. It kinda has a "GAME" feel to it because you have to "pass" one challenge in order to move on to the next. This app has really deepened my appreciation for the guitar and now my frustration has gone away.

Good app, very useful to start learning to play guitar. It's intuitive and we'll structured to guide anyone who wants to learn to play guitar. I truly recommend it.

So what if there are a couple of small tech glitches. Justins program itself is AMAZING! So unbelievably affordable!

Extremely well thought out. Follow the program and practice 15 min a day and you will soon be a real guitar player.

Great system for learning. I bounced between a few beginner courses and apps before I settled on this. I also bought the song book.

Super helpful, jamming along with the tracks. Video lessons included. A great addition and at some points substitute to the website course.

What a complete and fun way to learn guitar! If you follow exercises as Justin recommends, your playing ability increases tremendously. You just have to be willing to put the time in. He gives you all of the tools you need. Thanks Justin!

Makes learning (re-learning, haven't played in 20 years) fun and easy. I feel like I will be learning light years faster than when I was younger. I'm excited to hear how much I've improved over the next 6 months.

I've tried to pick up a guitar on a few occasions in the past just to get frustrated after a couple of days. This app helps with the one thing I struggled with: direction. There's such a gigantic myriad of guitar learning resources out there that finding a logical curriculum that starts with the absolute basics and goes through the important foundational guitar skills was a challenge for me. JustinGuitar's lessons are renowned and this app packages them into an excellent course that allows you to keep personal records of your progress as you do each exercise. It's about as close as you can get to having an actual in-person instructor. I do appreciate that the curriculum focuses on the practical aspects of guitar playing. I've tried books in the past that give you a chord pattern and a score of notes without any other guidance. Such things are unhelpful if you don't even know how to properly hold a chord without hurting yourself. Justin's lessons fixed that frustration for me. Highly recommend this app! Editing my review to air a frustration I have after a month with this app. At some points you're supposed to play "3 songs with learned chords" before progressing but often that isn't enough and it never really tells you what other criteria have to be met. I completed 11 Stage 2 songs with two-star or higher assessments (three of them with 3 stars!) before that lesson was marked complete. It would be nice if the app was a little more clear on whatever hidden criteria are required to complete the lessons.

I have tried to play guitar multiple times with either an instructor or by watching videos with very limited success. Using this app in just four days I feel I have learned more and feel more confident that I will be able to move forward with my playing.

I am a rank beginner. Tried learning on Rocksmith, but it didn't seem geared to rhythm guitar. This system seems to be working well for me thus far...

I love how it doesn't let me advance until I've done the activities. It forces me to be honest with myself in how I'm doing at each stage. This alone gets me past okay-plateau. Thanks!!

A good, orderly approach to learning guitar. Effective drills, self-assessment aids and plenty of good practice songs both older and new. Highly recommended.
