Network Places for Android
Staggeringly slow and unreliable, IF it finds the share (which also takes forever) works out quicker to shut phone down, remove the battery, take out the memory card, boot the pc, copy the file, Shut down the pc replace memory card battery and reboot phone was still ALOT quicker than copying an 11MB file, shame cos it could have been useful.
This would be a lot nicer to use if the font size wasn't so unnecessarily huge which obscures the filenames.
Dosent connect, its lame.
This app is great. Works good with VLC for videos. My server is 14.04 with samba from the repo. I would buy an ad free version.
works well, network based file shares
No option to show admin shares or manually navigate
Impossible chose folder from phone and simple upload to server...
Its very good for using sharing
Simple, useful and just excellent
Works just fine
Well
Sooo good
Nice.
This is a funny way to lose people's time, This app is useless, at least on Windows.

Used to be able to access the drive plugged into my router. Now it asks for username/pw/domain. There is no domain is an internal network.
Works a treat!
You can't actually connect to a network with the free version, waste of time!!!!
didn't manage to reach net paces
bad
Very good
Basic version is now annoying. Each time you open to view a file, it auto plays an loud annoying ad at full volume. it will unmute device. This doesn't just happen on startup. NO! it's each file you want to view over the SMB/Windows Network. I don't know why they started to do that, but it's very annoying and I won't pay to stop it, I'll just uninstall it and not recomend it. it was one thin to prevent MP3 and JPGs viewing and download, it's another to push a loud full screen video! I'm sure someone's bound to come along and do something similar without the annoying adds. It's just accessing a smb client, native to Linux users.
The download feature now shows a pop-up with a spinner, it blocks the entire app from doing anything while you download files. There isn't even a functional workaround anymore. If you want to download files you have to do it one at a time and wait. If you did this on purpose, why do downloads still have a whole page?
Previous versions had ability to display directory of images as thumbnails. Gone from current version. Much less useful without it.

It works ok; however, they block JPGs GIFs and MP3s from being download or streamed, don't know why. you have to use FTP or convert MP3 to MKA and JPGs to PNGs. I believe they are blocked. if this is your primary reason to install it, don't. as they block those file types.
Others make things so hard, having to know computer IP addresses, share names, domain names... This SIMPLY WORKS!!!! Streams ANYTHING! If your device can read/open it, this will stream it! Simply perfect!
Worked well on my Galaxy S3, but doesn't work at all on my S6
The app stupidly assumes small IP address space, so it fails just like most of the other dumb SMB implementations on phones. Worthless app.
It works - no fuss.

Been using this for years but uninstalling now due to the excessive ads, especially the video ads you can't skip when trying to open files from network shares. Another app ruined by greed.

Although ES File Explorer has networking capabilities it can't open some files on the network. I like being able to create links and open the files directly. This program does it.

Works a treat!
So far, this is only SMB/CIFS browser that manages to make the process of accessing and browsing shares simple and usable. On a non-rooted device (Galaxy Tab Pro) it also manages to enable streaming of media to another application (e.g. MX Player) without having to download the whole file to a local storage device. I've tried a few others including AndSMB and CIFS Manager and they were all useless for me except this one.

It claims to access Windows shared folders but it does not. Misleading.
