سيرة الشيخ ومعلومات عن حياته:

يُعدُّ الشيخ محمود خليل الحصري أشهر من رتل القرآن الكريم في القرن الهجري الماضي؛ فهو صاحب مدرسة أحكام التلاوة، لم يرض لنفسه أن يكون قارئًا لكتاب الله فحسب، بل نجح في أن يترك أثراً حسنًا في نفوس سامعيه؛ وهو أول من سجل القرآن بصوته مرتلاً في الإذاعة المصرية في مطلع الستينيات من القرن الميلادي المنصرم (1379هـ) فذاع صيته وصوته بأدائه المتميز في أنحاء العالم كافة .

ولد الشيخ الحصري سنة 1335هـ الموافق 1917م بقرية شبرا النملة، بمحافظة الغربية من جمهورية مصر العربية، وحفظ القرآن الكريم وكان له من العمر ثماني سنوات، وعُين بعدُ في العديد من المساجد لقراءة القرآن وإقرائه .

في سنة 1363هـ - 1944م تقدم لامتحان الإذاعة، فجاء ترتبيه الأول على المتقدمين، ووصل من خلالها صوته شرقًا وغربًا. ثم عُيِّن مفتشًا للمقارئ المصرية، فرئيسًا لمشيخة المقارئ المصرية، وتولى العديد من المهام الشرعية الأخرى .
