Brain Waves - Binaural Beats for Android
LOVE the new look. I liked the app before because it was functional... But the new release makes it beautifully. I dont really know if the "science" behind binaural beats is real, but it is helpful to block out background noise for sure.
I have been suffering from insomnia for the past few months due to stress and anxiety. The first night I listened to this, I had the best sleep I've had. thank you so much!! This is a lifesaver :D
Remarkable ability to regenerate my life energy. At first I was a skeptic of the claims. After being seriously worn out from stress and overwhelming emotional stress, then using the sound clips, I swear by the rejuvenating and regenerative affects of these binaural clips. Like being a master of meditative regenerative ability w/o years of experience.
Was cracking and popping so bad I had to uninstall within the first 5 minutes. (Switched headphones but the issue continued. Downloaded a different app and no issues.)
Just downloaded, only thing so far I'd like that I don't see is a better description as to what the presets will do for me. I started a new job January 5th and trained a week on day shift but tonight I start night shift so I'm trying to prepare by being focused but also awake and alert. I was taking riddelin for a while which was prescribed by a doctor but I requested it and I think it had a negative effect on me so I've stopped taking it and am hoping this app will help me
I have only used the app once, but speaking as someone that goes countless nights in a row without sleep this app is a gift from the gods(that's you devs????). I was going on night 3 of not sleeping when I found this app. I put my headphones on and chose the SLEEP setting and fell asleep almost instantaneously. Not only did it work, I felt so refreshed in the morning. I can't wait to try the other settings on it. You guys did a brilliant job, thank you!
Nicely designed app. Asked devs why it asks for permissions to make calls, they stated that it was to be able to mute the app if there is an incoming call and to check the description. Since the permission can be selectively disabled (android 6+) I've adjusted my rating up for the quick and reasonable response. I'll be evaluating further but so far it looks like a solid application. Cheers.
hey i guess its a nice app but i have one very important question! im not sure if presets have stable waves or different sounds are added to a wave by time. for instance, is relax preset has a stable wave and goes like that endlessly (mmmmmmmmm) or there are another sounds that application adds to the preset by time (mmmmm-kk-mmmmmmm-kk-mmm-qq-mmmmmm). i had some annoying kinda door knocking and closing sounds and im not sure if it was relaxing. even, i got scared little bit. is it my mind or is it how application works? please answer my question devs. its so serious
I want the old version back, the new material design looks terrible when compared to the old version. The nice background has been replaced with just a plain dark blue background. There are a few more things I don't like in this version and I had to drop the rating from 5 to 3
I don't like leaving bad reviews because I know the creators had good intentions, but don't install this app. I put it at a 10 hertz difference and listened to it for 15 mins. I fell asleep afterwards and had some of the worst nightmares in my entire life. When I woke up, I had a panic attack that lasted for 20 mins. After that I was incredibly anxious. I still am. The hertz are powerful but NOT accurate! If you're looking to reduce anxiety don't install this app. Try something that is recommended by a professional.
I liked the app very much but several, if not all tracks had scratchy static every few seconds. It is very jarring. (It was affected by adjusting the volume and was not caused by the user. )
I just downloaded to try and I tried the sleep preset. I feel at ease and fell asleep. Finally a deep sleep. I will be using this after hard exercise training so I can obtain REM sleep to repair muscle tissue. Thank you!
I'm hearing intermittent crackling sounds that are distracting and annoying. I use a Moto X that runs all other apps great.
This is a great app, but like other users, there is a fuzzy clicking noise occuring rather frequently that just totally throws me off. I'll have to find a new app until this bug is fixed because it is driving me nuts! I wish the developers would address this. I am using a Pixel.
Perfect for calming the mind for a while. If having trouble to start with, i suggest 10 minutes a couple of times a day. Doesn't have to be an hour or two. Find the white noise soothing. Great app
I used this app a lot and loved it but since it was updated all of my custom presets disappeared. Still a great app, just irritated that I need to rebuild my personal presets all over again. Otherwise I wouldn't mind paying for it.
It's great, however I keep constantly hearing some sort of a popping noise. I feel like it disrupts the beats. Is it just my phone or is it supposed to do that?
I don't usually find binaural beat apps to be effective, however this app is the only one I have found to actually work. Over the last week or so I've been suffering from a heavy cold and have found it difficult to get a good night's sleep, however since downloading this app and using the sleep session, I've fallen asleep easily and had a good night's sleep. What's particularly useful is that you can set the timer for the duration you require after which it closes. Don't forget to use headphones for it to be effective. A great app... Now if it could cure my cold I'd give it 6 stars instead of 5!
Very good app, it let you to set whatever frequency you like. The one thing that misses is the possibility to play isochronic pulses if you add this in a future update it would be great
Nice app but. The clicks are annoying and why does it keeps asking for permission to allow the app to make phone calls? Read phone status i can understand but not make calls..
I used to use this app a lot and I kind of got out of the habit with it, but I just checked it out again and I can't listen to it because it keeps making crackling/popping noises. It's extremely distracting.
Why 528hz highest? Waste of time if frequency is limited! It would have been a good app.
Need more time with it. The sounds are different and not use to them. I think it will benefit me greatly
Cool app. bug: Shows Theta type in sleep preset, but 2Hz is actually Delta. request: Would be great to have ability to create more complex presets, when you can have frequences changing in time.
Without even listening, it must be great confidently, and there is a maybe hi he ha. Pls let me know Fork C-128 frequency, Subhuti told me, thank-you Ma-ster????????????????????????????️????????????????????????????????????
I love this app.... but recently it keeps creating these popping noises that I can't stop and they're really distracting. Any help?
This is a great app for its flexibility regarding setups. One thing I'd recommend is to include a manual (alpha, beta wave difference range)
The app is great, but any chance that it will help increase my I.Q level and thinking ? I mean the waves do relax the brain and that means a healthy brain. I believe there's so much more to this app. Brain power thou ! I love it ????.
I've been using it for a while. Today I've downloaded the update and have 2 questions: 1. I've noticed there are no alpha waves in the presets anymore, what frequency would you recommend to set for them? Is the difference 9Hz as it was in the previous version? And 2. What's the difference between this version and Brain Waves Classic that costs £1.50 and seems to look almost exactly like this app before the update? Thanks for help.
The first week I used this for healing and creativity, and after about the third fourth day I actually started to dream something that I haven't done in a long time. The meditation is also working. These many frequencies used on this app take a long time to master it. I am familiar with Sonic therapy I used to study audio engineering and I find that certain sonic waves have worked for me and I have improved more than I expected.
I am loving this app. It's awesome no doubt. But I have one problem. What R and L frequencies should I use for alpha if I am looking to memorize things(formula, definitions, derivations, etc which I already know but want to memorize). I know that the difference should be around 9 but what R and L values would be perfect? Please reply ASAP. Thank you.
It actually lets you tap into the zone at any given time. I used the creative session and extended it to 1 hour on that day I had writer's block. By the end of the session, I already had 1,500 words. I was laughing to myself because I was unbelievably amazed at how effective the session was. I'm going to keep on using this in my writing sessions. Thank you, developers for making such an amazing app!
The waves are really good. However be careful guys: this app asks for permission to make phone calls on behalf of the user. It's quite suspicious. I definitely prefer non free apps than "free" ones that might charge you in subtle ways.
I have suffered with an overactive brain since the age of about 12, this presents itself in my brain feeling as though it's pressed against my skull. I have always listened to heavy bass driven electronic music from around that age and have just realised that the frequency of the bass is around that of alpha waves which when played through the app released that pressure. My only issue is it has taken until the age of 35 to find out about this. Thanks
Even if I do not understand the complete principle of Binaural Beats this has helped me relax and focus before a full day of work. Hope UI can be updated so it looks sleeker and modern but otherwise great app. No complaints.
I've been using various binaural software over the last 7 years. I've recently discovered the Brain Waves app and have found it to be very well designed with a great user interface and easy to use/select preset beats for various desired effects, along with the ability to create your own. Brain Waves explains everything clearly and is one of my favourite binaural beats apps. I use the Brain Waves app regularly especially for relaxation and as a cure for both my insomnia and tinnitus. 5/5 many thanks for creating such a great binaural app. I highly recommend this app to everyone as you will not be disappointed.
Would have been better if the total frequency can be put by just typing the frequency exactly in a field.. otherwise the app is nice.. please put that option to put any value like if i want 6.8hz then by just sliding the slider it might not be done with great accuracy... So please dev add that option..
God damn das some good dev work 1.presets are great. 10/10 2. Flexibility is 300/10 it allows you to make your own, have its own volume control which works well with lastly, let's you play in the background with any other audio. I can listen to music while having it on in the background or watching a movie as I get sleepy or pretty much anything. Would be a useless feature if I couldn't control the volume separately but I can which is just gravy. Thanks for the great app! 5 stars all the way.
If it ain't broke...don't fix it. You wanna do US a REAL favor? Make separate volume settings for each wave channel...DUH. PS the "look" of the update SUCKS and then CHARGING to get the classic back is just UNBELIEVABLE. You should be ashamed.

I have trouble falling asleep. I fell asleep in a chair ,which is something i never do maybe 15 minutes in and i am thankful for that. I will try all of the programs and see if they help as well. I am just glad to be able to sleep. Thanks!
