About EXIF Fixup

This application contains a service that monitors the DCIM/Camera folder and alters the EXIF data for the files captured with default Camera application.

The service starts automatically on boot.

You can also fix existing files using “Fix existing photos” menu item.

Why this is needed:
A number of Android phones have a bug that sets the EXIF date and time to 2002-12-08 12:00:00. It does not look broken initially because the Gallery application sorts the files based on the last modification date. Once the photos are imported into any application that understands EXIF tags, all the files will be grouped into an event that happened at noon on December 8, 2002.

This date is hardcoded into libcamera.so and the latter is closed-source.

My images got mixed up! It would be very awesome if I could target the whole dcim folder!

Also works on a rooted Huawei Ideos X5 Pro running CyanogenMod 11.2 (KitKat 4.4.3). No unnecessary permissions. Does what it says. Great app.

Finally! I don't have an Acer phone but I have the exif problem on my root. And this fixed it. Although it couldn't fix older photos. But thank you!
