About Star Drawing

Star Drawing
The simple to use Android app that allows you to create images from stars.
Why stars?
Stars are  frequently used in images, icons and as a reward in schools and in games. Stars and shapes are used extensively in patterns and design so a drawing tool which uses shapes, circles, ellipses and stars as its' toolbox is useful and, by keeping to a small palette, it is easy to use.
The app is now at version 2 and has been extensively reworked.
Each star can have a number of points from 3 (a triangle) to 199. Circles and ellipses can be created by setting the number of points to one or two respectively.
You can create either shapes or many types of star by changing which points are joined or how many points are skipped. If “Skip” is set to 0 you get shapes, as adjacent points are joined, higher values give a variety of stars. Adjusting “Skip” for an ellipse adjusts the flatness of the ellipse.
By adjusting the “Fill” you can select wire drawing, fully filled or Harlequin fill (often referred to an on-off fill or binary fill).
Points can be rounded to make the stars look like something created with Spirograph. Please note that rounding does not yet work with Harlequin fill or either SVG file format.
The colour of the stars can be changed with our elegant hand crafted colour picker. This gives you full control of the RGB colour stream and the Alpha channel (Transparency). The latter means that your pictures can have quite extraordinary overlap effects.
Once finished your picture can be saved as one of four file formats (JPEG, PNG, SVG and SVG Tiny). You can also set your image as the wall paper on your device or share the image with your friends through any compatible Android app (for example Text or email).

The new preview mode allows you to change the size of and move the whole image.

Yes, my pun title is quite corny, but the app is not. What it is though, is wonderful! I figured I would be deleting it within a minute after I opened it, like I do with so many "art-related" applications from the Market (never shall I call it by the horrid "Play Store" moniker, NEVER!). Ahem... Oh yes, this app is just amazing! On the surface I didn't actually expect too much as I said, but once I figured out the in's and out's of what was going on, well I was immediately hooked! I was instantly and pleasantly reminded of Fractal applications that I've dabbled in, in the past. But it was also a treat because it's not so convoluted as those so often tend to be. You have three main buttons to work with, one to place the stars, one to manipulate the stars, and one to adjust the colors. And they all play nicely together. Above all though, I was just shocked at how there was zero latency, i.e. the app did not become sluggish, freeze, or crash, no matter how much I threw at it, and let me tell you I assaulted it with input! So the developer knows how to build a graphics engine. And lastly, it's works flawlessly not only on a phone, but also a tablet's native landscape mode! 5*'s
