第1期の総集編が劇場版前後編2部作として制作され、2014年11月22日に第1話から第13話までの総集編『劇場版 進撃の巨人 前編〜紅蓮の弓矢〜』、2015年6月27日に第14話から第25話までの総集編『劇場版 進撃の巨人 後編〜自由の翼〜』が公開された。配給はポニーキャニオン。未公開シーンの追加や音声を5.1chサラウンド仕様にアップグレードするなど、細かい仕様変更もある。
2016年に第2期が放送予定。
