Handy Scanner Pro: PDF Creator

Used to take snaps and sent the pictures to wherever I needed to send them. After downloading a few pic to pdf programs, it was the only one with such a rich feature set (even in the free version) and that actually did what I needed with as few taps as possible. Loved it instantly, Upgraded instantly. Thanks! It solved a big problem of mine :) PS. I do not usually write reviews for apps but I felt that this one should be praised

I am having problems sending scanned docs by email. It used to bring up a list so I could select where/how to export. Now it automatically goes to the last one I selected. I cannot get the list to return. Real bummer. I use this app a lot. Going to check other options.

The images I take with my phone camera are much better than the images the scanner tool takes for Droid DNA. The corner selection tool is a great idea but it has yet to select the correct corners automatically and the manual corner selection is finiky. Lastly, the automatic filters leave much hand written text illegible. Alltogether, it is better to take a picture of the document from my phone camera, send it to myself (or auto sync with Dropbox) and edit the image on my PC.

They're needs to be a setting that allows you to have the flash on by default, or at least a setting that applies it to each scanning session. Right now, if you want to scan multiple documents, you must turn the flash on for each one. A default save location would also be a very nice feature/setting. Other than that, incredible scanning app. I have the pro version, but even with the free version, the app corrects for any distortion caused by a tilt of the camera. Highly recommend.

This app is excellent and has made it extremely easy to create PDFs while i am away from my computer and traveling out in the field. I paid 4.99 for it and it was well worth it. My only complaint is the camera feature is quite fuzzy. Does not take crisp pictures. However, i heard that was fixed in version 2.0

The app would be great but when I attempt to adjust the brightness or contrast the preview goes black. Contacted developer and never received a response. Note 2

This is still the best scanner and I have tried so many even from the big impressive software vendors. I always come back to this app. Wish it had an auto mode where it would take picture every x seconds automatically for large docs. Maybe it does?

I initially started using the app to scan receipts for work expense claims - now I use it for everything! Any paper document, I instantly scan it, apply a filter to make it print ready, then upload it to Dropbox directly from within the app. Get this app and you will wave goodbye to paper :)

It works perfect. Handy application saves you time. Many options to enhance print quality. It is definitely different that the default camera application. Value for money.

This happened on a Note 4, stock touchwiz. Just lost about 30 mins scanning and cropping docs. Won't use this app again after years of use. Google Drive has a more reliable scanner.

Installed on Nexus 5x and will be uninstalling. Tried max picture quality, max document quality, default camera, system camera, officle light, sunlight. In every case, I got areas of print that were washed out. I have been a professional photographer and I now how to frame and expose an image with an automatic camera. I don''t know what is going on but I don't have any more time to spend on this.

Since downloading the app I use it all the time in meetings or for those little bits of paper I scribble on. It has surprised me how much I write down then can't find the boot of paper this has helped me so much.

Stopped working. This app used to be ok. Not the best quality results and auto detection was pretty pitiful but overall it did the job. Paid for the pro version to scan multi page documents but now the app consistently crashes. Finding an app that is maintained.

If you do receipts or things, this is an excellent app. I had given it a bad review before, but I have since realized that it is my phone acting up, not the app itself.

It really is easy. Auto crop feature is great. Not always totally accurate, but often is, and pretty easy to adjust. Love this app. Update: 4/13/15. When using app's camera to take pix, often the first pic is out of focufocuss, so pic of first page needs to be taken twice. After that, auto focus seems to kick in and work just fine. An odd quirk I hope the developers can fix.

After switching phones I can not get backup to restore to new phone. I sent email to support with no response. Would love to continue using, but without support I will look for different product.

This would be an awesome app if it didn't keep crashing when I try to use it. It worked the first couple times I used it and then just stopped. It never sends my emails and if it does it sends them blank sans attachment! Waste of money :(

This is a 5 star app. I'm sad that I'm rating this 2. On moto g not always, but once it stops focusing, it never focuses on pages until restart scanning session. Please fix this.. Ill rate it to 5 once its fixed.

I am completely satisfied by this app. Being on the road I used to carry scaner with me. I was very reluctant to replace physical scaner. This app has changed my thinking. Dump scaner and buy this app. You can't tell the difference. Great app. Please keep it up.

Obnoxious corner selection and cropping. Keep losing the image. Turbo scan is vastly easier to use, easy handles for cropping, and my preferred app for scanning. Unfortunately work wants me to use this one due to the smaller file size.

App crashes after unpredictable number of pages. Was almost done, crashed and lost everything. Not cool for a pay for premium app. Samsung Note 3. Also the page quality is not as good as some other free apps.

Bought Pro to be able to auto-update - would be good to be able to specify folder of drive rather than getting docs created in root dir. Also some stability issues - just stops working.

Having some issues on the Samsung Note 4. App freezes up after i scan 4 or more pages and i lose my progress.***I'm using this app everyday to scan my customers billable invoices.I'm scanning anywhere from 3 to 15 invoices a day from the rd.No more having to wait to get back to the office to wrap my day up.

The free version had a very bad camera and I thought the Paid version would have a better camera. Unusable as I can't read receipts afterwards. Good design though

The advanced filters don't seem to work on my ASUS Transformer (TF201). When i make any adjustments with the advanced filters, the page image goes black & i can't restore it without abandoning changes. Otherwise, i love this app.

We had family books we wanted to make copies of, so my husband and I both paid for the pro version of this app. We did a couple test scans of a few pages then went for it with our 100+ page books. My husband got done and when it took him to the next step to finalize, the app crashed and didn't save anything!!! I finished up a few minutes later and it did the same freaking thing! So much time and money wasted.

Buy it now. Best $4 you'll ever spend. Seriously, buy it. This app is incredible. I easily keep all my receipts for reimbursement and itemization with this app and Dropbox so I can throw them all away immediately.

This company refuses to allow for the OPTION of external storage. Getting severely aggravating. Other than this, the app works pretty good.

I had used the free handy scaner and liked it. I decided to buy the pro version. But two days after purchase of pro all my documents were not opening and now there is nothing left.. All docs scaned are wiped out. I have mailed to the contact email. I am not in a happy situation...... The developer needs to contact me.

This is a great app that requires very little adjustment when converting. Other apps have a hard time finding the corners on the docs and so I was CONSTANTLY have to adjust the corner on two or three corners. This one finds the corners almost every time. When I scan 6 to 8 pages per doc that is a huge time saver.

The fine tuning crop tool needs some serious calibrating. It feels like the app is fighting with me when trying to crop a page. It'll either over or under extend the point I'd like to trim....App hasn't been updated in almost 2 yrs. You get 1 star until you fix your app.

I first installed this in 2012 and it would take a few tries to get a readable scan but it worked so I purchased pro. 3 phones later I can't get a readable scan, very blurry. I gave up and just took a photo, perfectly clear, readable photo. Uninstall as worthless.

Like others have found, camera updates have made this app difficult to use. The app's camera took fuzzy pictures and the option to use the stock camera resulted in some bugs, like not being able to review pictures that I took. I have uninstalled it for now.

Samsung Galaxy Note II. Love this app. Makes copying and sending documents a breeze. It's intuitive and permits cloud storage of your documents. What's nice is I can be anywhere and make a PDF of just about anything then email it or whatever else I want to do with it. It took me 2 minutes to figure it out and I had a 5 page doc scanned and emailed to my bank within 10 minutes. It would have been quicker but I couldn't find my glasses.

I really like Handy Scanner Pro. I've used it for about a year primarily to help me deal with all my travel receipts. It works really well for that. When I teach courses, I take snapshots of the flipchart pages I draw/write and turn them into good-quality PDFs that my students can take with them. The B&W Print-Ready filter works great for that, avoiding large (3 MB) file sizes. Recommended.

This does a better job than the junkie sheet fed scanner I used. Take the snapshots of service orders in the field and send them to the office for processing. I only need to drop off papers for filing as they are already processed before I get there! Awesome time saver!

No service running all the time. Scrolling while zoomed is OK now. Default name based on date is generated if you leave it blank, camera is muted for me since 2.0 ... Please give us a nice icon in V2.2 :-)

Worked great until a week ago now when i try to e-mail my documents it says the attachments couldn't be loaded and sends an empty e-mail
